I'm sad to write this review, but my Eldorado neighbors should be aware of the experience I had here. Dave was quite friendly and seemed easygoing about the rear brake job (BOTH wheels) I'd asked him to do, and which he promised to do. I even waited for Dave to come back from his travels to work on my vehicle (22' van). Dave called me to say "it's all done & ready to be picked up." On my way inside to pay my bill, by chance, I just happened to peek inside my vehicle to grab something. What I found on the passenger side floor was a set of brand new pads & parts for one wheel, still in the box. Inside the shop, I was casually handed a complete bill for the original TWO-wheel brake job. When I asked about the new pads still in my vehicle, the kind lady at the front desk hadn't a clue about it. So she asked Dave. **And this is where things get inexplicably bizarre: Dave loses his temper, and tells me "I don't wanna do the other wheel! I'm not doin' it! The first one was too hard, it's hot outside, it rained....I'm not doin it! I don't wanna see that van here ever again." (As if I'd done something wrong?!?) Having discovered his incomplete work, ONLY THEN does Dave instruct his assistant to discount the labor portion of my bill (but not the parts he marked up many times over). I was shocked by the sudden, bizarre change in personality. His assistant apologized to me several times, and also let me know that Dave had errantly cut my brake pad wear sensor. As such, I had a dash warning light on for two weeks before I could purchase and install a new one myself (after watching a YouTube video). What's further alarming is that the lug bolts Dave had replaced were barely more than finger-tightened (despite having previously let him know the correct torque value for my wheels' lug bolts). I still need to find someone else to finish the job that Dave flat out refused to finish. I really, REALLY wanted to have a local, trustworthy mechanic here in Eldorado. But my family will most definitely not be returning here with any of our vehicles, for obvious trust and safety reasons. I recommend folks seek another mechanic. read more

Took my SUV to have clamps put on my CV boot already had the clamps. My husband replace the two back one but could not put the clamps on. Sat around for about 1 hour. Then told I needed about $800 worth of repairs. Went home thinking they were nice for not charging me to put the clamps on BUT when my husband took a look at what they said needed to be done. Found out not only did they not put clamps on they cut the new left side. My husband had to replace. As a women I hate being taken advantage of. I will never go back. Women beware. read more

This is the best car repair shop in Santa Fe, possibly the best I've ever used anywhere. For difficult problems, Dave is the best at diagnosing them correctly and getting it right the first time. For simple maintenance, their prices are reasonable and the service is excellent. Plus, they are really nice, friendly people that you can trust. We took in our truck to fix drive shaft. Dave asked if we wanted to replace it with a used drive shaft to save money, and when we agreed he had one delivered from an auto supply place in ABQ. Unfortunately, the part ended up being defective. Dave graciously replaced it free of charge. Unfortunately the 2nd replacement drive shaft, also used, also started to have problems. We were no longer in the Santa Fe area, but when we called up to explain the problem, Dave said he would mail us a refund (and he did!). Very nice, honest guy. He got stuck with some defective parts through no fault of his own, but he never stuck it to us. read more
