Rosemary focaccia with arugula, tomato, grilled eggplant, caramelized onion and goat cheese with balsamic side salad
    Lisa C.

I had to write an update to my review as a few things have changed and I had the chance to try out the sandwich side of the restaurant. Regarding the sandwiches - they're custom made, just like the salads but the ingredients list is very limited, but has some very intriguing options, including Rosemary Focaccia (yum!), two whole wheat bread options, avocado salsa, roasted garlic aioli, prosciutto, turkey, french brie, goat cheese, caramelized onions and grilled eggplant, among others. There's about 6 different choices per category and you get one type of bread, one spread, one meat (or substitute meat for extra veg x2), one cheese and then your veggies. I ended up going with Rosemary Focaccia with garlic aioli, no meat, and goat cheese, caramelized onion, grilled eggplant, arugula and tomato. They oil it and then grill it on a panini press while they prepare your salad (with balsamic vinagrette) to go on the side. All in, its a cute little box meal that doesn't LOOK like much but sure packs a punch. Flavor on my sandwich was amazing, they seem to have picked just the right ingredients for the sandwich side that would all feasibly go together to make a wicked sandwich. The goat cheese was warmed through and just a smidge melty and everything else sort of melded together on my walk back to work. Genius... just genius. The side salad is a decent size and although my sandwich looked small w hen I opened the box, it definitely did the job for a late lunch on a day I was very hungry. A few things that have changed recently - they're giving out less of each salad topping as they used to (although this is probably a good thing for my waistline). While the portions are still really good, they're not amazing like they used to be. And I noticed today that the prices went up. Nothing astronomical (I think my meal with tax was 0.25 extra) but its worth noting for people who frequent this location. Overall, this location is still a winner for me. I go here at least twice a week and a few of my coworkers have started going here as well. It's nice to find healthy food that's fresh made and right to order. Probably the healthiest place to eat in the food fourt (and by far one of the best).

This was the best camouflaged Cobb salad in the world... Maybe it looks disgusting but at least tastes nothing like a Cobb salad. Fail.

Not worth the price. Sandwiches are decent but again, expensive. For a place that specialized in salads and sandwiches for $10+, you'd expect them to not be stingy on vegetables. I bought the "crunch" salad today and as soon as I went to eat it I wanted a refund. The toppings other than the kale and quinoa were practically non-existent. With the exception of about 5-6 "big" chunks of apple and cucumber. They refused the refund, even after contacting the manager. I will not be going back. If you're looking for a healthy alternative, just go to Freshii. A little bit more pricey, at least they aren't stingy over such basic ingredients.

This is the only place I get lunch from in the food court. I love the sandwich + salad combo. I was walking to the food court with 3 other friends, and without saying a word we all walked to Fast Fresh Foods. Then we started talking about how much we like it. This is my order (try it an tell me what you think): whole wheat bread, spicy chipotle, turkey, goat cheese, eggplant or roasted red pepper, and banana peppers. I'm drooling. I'm pretty sure Sandwich Box was around first, but I like FFF better.

There were barely any walnuts, and despite paying for extra cranberries, there were hardly any included. The kale made up most of the salads, yet it was tough & difficult to chew. Most importantly, these salads were by no means worth the price. For what was charged, I expected fresh ingredients and a reasonable balance of toppings. Instead, I received bowls that were mostly kale and quinoa, with the premium ingredients largely absent. What turned a disappointing meal into a terrible experience was the complete lack of accountability afterward. When I contacted Mandy's, I was directed to Uber Eats. Unfortunately, dealing with Uber Eats customer support was even more frustrating than receiving the food itself. The support process felt automated, impersonal, and entirely focused on closing the complaint rather than addressing the issue. Despite providing details about the poor quality of the food, my concerns were not taken seriously and no meaningful resolution was offered. Customers order through delivery platforms expecting some level of protection when food arrives in unacceptable condition. In this case, neither the restaurant nor Uber Eats seemed willing to take responsibility. Poor food quality is one thing; poor customer service from both companies makes the experience far worse. I won't be ordering from Mandy's again, and this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in Uber Eats as well.

If you are aiming for healthy eats, then this is the place to hit up. Its in the downtown core and is accessible. They also offer a killer Portuguese Tart to wrap up a meal! CONs Unfortunately, this is where it goes off the rails a bit. Some of the cons to the location is that the price point isn't in line with other similar locations in the area. I get more salad/rice bowls from Salus just up the street for $5 cheaper. There is no differentiator between the two on this level. I think its reflected in the customer presence as well as I've rarely seen the location filled at lunch. I would say the return for a $20 rice bowl, the amount of rice and protein provided was concerning and miniscule in comparison to competitors in the area. The last con I have is that the location doesn't operate in cash which may be uncommon these days, but it can be annoying to those who do and don't have alternative ways of paying. The food is fine, but comparable and cheaper options are available nearby. I have no compelling reason to return here and that is one of the issues I face when I think about this location. Give the public something different or at a more competitive price to succeed.

I've actually had Brasa previously many years ago for a Yelp event but this time I decided to stop by the Queen St. location to grab dinner. Their menu boasts unique flavours where ingredients are fresh and nutritious. I decided to order a bowl from their phone app where my order was made in about 15 min. Upon arriving at Brasa, the space is accessible where the cashier/food counter area is to your right. On the left there is bar seating where you could enjoy your items there. I mentioned to staff that I was there to pick up my food where it was already made. In terms of food, I ordered the tuna ceviche bowl (Organic tricolour Peruvian quinoa, marinated tuna, avocado and sweet potato blossoms, two types of Peruvian corn, finely sliced red onion) which cost around $17. I had the bowl for dinner and it felt super healthy with the quinoa, avocado, and tuna! The ingredients tasted great together and the crunchy corn added a crunchy textural element to the bowl. Overall, a healthy alternative in the Queen/University area!

They had so many variations of these bowls and lots of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. The service via Uber Eats was quick and had no issues with that. I found it lacked flavour and was just completely bland. The sauces had a weird aftertaste and I just did not enjoy the bowl overall. I hope the rest of their bowls are good and I just got a one off not pleasant one. I don't think I would be ordering again from this place. 5/10 recommend!
