Extremely poor communication and hard to reach by phone. Never got anything done by the dates they gave to me. I brought 2 GPUs in to get fixed -- 1 just had a loose fan, and the other had a firmware issue. Took over 2 weeks for them to get the GPU fan fixed (if it was fixed before then, they failed to contact me to let me know). On top of that, when I took the GPU out of the box, I noticed it was damaged! The tech obviously had dropped it and didn't think it was necessary to tell me! What a way to leave a bad taste in my mouth--lost my trust immediately at this point. We're already a month past when I first brought them in, and I'm STILL waiting on my other GPU! Frankly, I think I'll be going in tomorrow to get it back. I've sent multiple messages through Yelp when I've been busy at work, and they just leave me on "read" with no reply. Do NOT bring your stuff here. They will tell you that you can reach them whenever you'd like--but that definitely wasn't the case for me. You are going to have to do all the work on your end if YOU want an update from THEM. Thinking back, they never even had me sign any type of paperwork for repairs / services. DO NOT GO. Period. I replaced my iPhone X screen here on 9/4/2021. Their screen replacement price is $100 cheaper than the apple store so I thought I got a deal. Unfortunately the screen went black after merely 20 days. The store did offer me a warranty and the phone was not dropped and there was no water damage. However the store claims that I broke it so the warranty was not honored and the store is asking me to pay for another $175 to replace it again. I am really disappointed. Due to the phone suddenly not working in the middle of the day I was not able to communicate with my child's school and almost lost my daughter. It took me an hour to finally find my daughter. And now I am asked to pay for 175 to get another screen that lasts only 20 days. This does not sound right. I commented how fragile the replacement screen is compared to the authentic apple screen and the store owner just said "yeah" then stared at me as if saying how stupid I was to trust him. I will for sure go to the apple stor e next door in the future for similar needs. It's definitely not worth the trouble to repair your apple products in a non official apple place just to save $100. read more

You should be aware that replacement with Non-Apple parts voids your warranty that I learned the hard way. About 100 days after an iPhone XS screen replacement, i got a green vertical screen line. Apple would not honor their warranty since the part was not theirs. According to Fast Repair policy: "The parts Apple uses in the iPhone are bought from Chinese companies and assembled in China. Many of the parts we use come from the similar vendors in China. So though we cannot claim that our parts are "from Apple" they are manufactured to the same strict OEM specifications and customers and us are often unable to tell the difference." With a name like "Fast Repair" I had hoped to get a, well, fast repair. I ended up having to call in after several weeks and was told the wrong part had been ordered, and a new one had to be sent. It is now close to a month since I dropped the phone off, and still no word. I tried calling in, but I just get voicemail. I am lucky I am still using my old phone, so I am not really inconvenienced, but still a wait like this is kinda pathetic. Also, I would have assumed that once they ordered the wrong part they might expedite shipping on a new part, but since it has been several weeks since my last call I am guessing that did not happen. I will update the review once the work is done (they say it will be ready 1/2 hour after they get the part) but a wait like this certainly does not justify their name. I had dropped my Samsung S10 from 2 ft on a gravel path and there was a ding on the lower left side of the screen. As a result, only the top half was visible; the bottom half was black. What's more, I could not access any apps since it was the bottom area did not register my password pattern. I took it to another place and they said it not only failed the diagnostic test, but my battery was bulging. So they wouldn't touch it. This happened on a Saturday. I started to call around and email after 5pm for different repair places. I left a msg with Fast Repair and the Jeff, the owner called me back on Sunday afternoon. He was checking his messages. I told him the problems with the screen and battery. He said he was 99% sure he could fix it. i said I could bring it in on Monday when they opened at 10am. He said he just happened to be in the shop, so if I could drop it off now if desired. That was even better. I drove over and he said he could definitely fix it. But he would have to order the parts from back East on Monday. I took the option of Express Delivery, so he could fix it within 2 days. On Tuesday, Jeff stayed after 5pm because Fedex delivered the parts in the late afternoon. He kept me informed on the status which was good. I got my phone back at 7:30pm. Several customers had broken their screens over the weekend, so he was repairing them all that day. Result: The phone works like a champ! The alternative would have been time consuming and painful: Buying a used Samsung Galaxy S10, doing a data transfer, building up my contacts, and downloading all my apps. (I was not able to save the contacts to the cloud previously.) He also showed me how to save via Samsung Smart Switch, so I would have all my contacts on my laptop, in the Samsung back up mode and in Excel. Yeah! I was ecstatic! Fast Repair gives great customer service and goes beyond to keep customers happy. Thank you so much! I will go there again for any of my phone or laptop needs. P.S. They use genuine Samsung parts. They have a 1-year warranty on the screen and 90 days on the battery. read more

3 weeks to completely kill my phone My Pixel 2XL's camera had stopped working. Everything else was working perfectly. I took it in 3 weeks ago and they said they might crack the screen opening it. It would be $80 to replace the camera if the screen didn't need to be replaced but an additional $200 if the screen had a problem. I said okay. I call in a few days later to ask about the phone. It goes to voicemail and I leave a message and my phone number. No call back. A week later I call again. Goes to voice mail and I leave my number again. No callback A week later I drive in and they say the tech will call me in an hour. No call. I come back a week later and they say it is completely dead. Day of reservation I arrived about 40 minutes earlier than my time. They were able to fit me in and my screen was replaced in about 40 minutes. Fast Repair is in a convenient location. During the 40 minutes, I was able to go to Stanford Shopping Center to run a few errands. Bob was great. Professional, friendly and honest. I also purchased a screen protector and case for my phone after my new screen was installed Phone looks great. No problems with my new screen! So I was half asleep this morning and in an effort to save my iphone 4 from going into the toilet after I knocked it off the bathroom counter, I instead made it crash right into the edge of the toilet seat screen down!!! Ok, I was def. awake after that and extremely UPSET!!! I've only had this phone a little over a month (dummy me didn't think I NEEDED the insurance!) and now the screen was shattered!!! I'm talking tiny pieces that were being held on the phone by the screen protector. As soon as I got to work I hopped on Yelp and best believe I was down there as soon as lunch time hit. Ha, ha!! Brought in my MyTouch 4g and they weren't able to fix it. It wouldn't boot up past the start up screen. They did however, switch the screen with my (other MyTouch 4g) shattered phone (display shattered, but phone works), so now my old phone looks and works like new. They only charged $30 in labor fees, which I thought was fair, considering if I bought a screen from them, they charge $100 for it. Super confusing paragraph up there. I just wanted to say they did a good and quick (under an hr!) job. These guys are AWESOME. Just make sure you call ahead - they do get really busy. My Droid 1 (yes I have a Droid 1. Don't judge) phone screen stopped working after I dropped it. They quoted me $89, I asked for a lower rate (based on cost of buying a used Droid 1 on Craigslist), one of the techs David said they could do it for $70. I talked to a different guy the next day, and he honored that quote even without consulting David. They told me it would take about an hour. It turns out there was something broken on the board of my phone - not an LCD issue (which is more common) - so they needed an extra day. They were really apologetic about not having a temporary Droid to replace mine - all I wanted was something that could make calls, since I couldn't even do that for the last few days with the screen broken. So they gave me a cell phone to use for the night - actually the store's own phone, not a loaner - which they seemed to feel bad about but I was perfectly happy. The next day (after the tech had stayed up really late fixing my phone!) my phone was ready as promised. They charged me just $70 flat and said they'd pay the tax themselves since they felt bad about the extra day - totally unnecessary as I didn't mind about the extra day, it really wasn't their fault, but that was so nice of them! after dropping my iphone 6 on the carpet in my home, the screen not only cracked, but my lcd display was also damaged! my phone was rendered completely useless since i couldn't swipe or see anything on my screen, and when something did appear, it was all zig-zagged! argh!! what are the chances of this happening when dropping my phone about 2 feet onto a soft, carpeted surface!?!?!? definitely bad luck, since i dropped my phone at just the right angle for the damage to be done. i researched quite a few local phone repair and electronics businesses, and then i stumbled onto fast repair, who not only had the best rate ($80 for iphone 6) but promised to be done in under an hour and was less than a :20 drive from home! i came on a weekday afternoon, and i was the only customer there. bob took one look at my phone and knew exactly what happened and what the solution would be. i needed to run some errands, so i told him i'd be back in an hour or so. i actually took more than an hour, but regardless, when i returned, my phone was repaired and he even took the time to explain to me what i had done, what he did to fix the problem, and suggestions for avoiding this situation in the future. talk about great customer service! bob also told me that my cell phone battery was a bit "bloated" which was causing some minor lcd display issues. he recommended that i have it fixed before it caused further damage. i wanted to think about it and discuss with my husband, so i thanked him kindly and left. after discussing with hubby, we decided i should have my battery replaced, so back to fast repair i go, and bob remembered me from the day before, so he gave me a discounted rate on the battery repair ($40). i had sat down for maybe :10, and just cracked open my book to start reading, when he told me that my phone was ready! talk about lightning fast service! the new battery was in there, and the lcd display looked better...it wasn't perfect, since there was some damage that could not be fixed 100%, but it was definitely better. not too bad considering i've had my iphone 6 for nearly 4 yrs! i was definitely a very happy customer, my only regret being reluctant on getting the battery changed on the first visit to save myself a second drive, but it was worth it to have my phone repaired and functioning properly again. i highly recommend fast repair if you have a cracked phone screen and need reliable and quick service at reasonable rates! read more

So, over the last few years, my family and I have been frequent customers of Fast Repair to swap out cracked screens on iphones and an android phone. I've always found them to be honest and fair. For the iPhones, they always have screens in stock and can do a repair in 30 minutes or less. Just make sure you call first, and check if the tech is there -the 30 minutes doesn't start if the tech isnt there. My last repair this week, sadly took three trips: One to be there when they opened, only to find out the tech was not going to be in until later that morning. So then 2nd trip to pick up the repaired phone later that morning. Then, I discovered that the speakerphone mic wasnt working, and had to bring the phone back for the tech to look at. They were able to fix it and didn't charge me. Good on them. That said, most of the other times I've needed to bring in an iPhone for repairs it was done right, and done quickly. For the android phone, they didnt have parts for this model, and suggested we get the part and they'd just charge us to install it. That worked for us. So, overall, I'm a fan, they've earned my repeat business, as long as we keep dropping phones! read more

Irresponsible. Slow. Ineffective. Not recommended at all. 1. They charged premium fees, upfront for the expedited evaluation, which was supposed to deliver the next day. The next day they were very rude on the phone, asking us not to bother them. Three biz days later they said they need more time. Five biz days later we took the device back. They refused to refund the premium fees for the expedited service since they did not deliver in the expected amount of time. The attitude was very unprofessional, never experienced this in a US store or business. 2. The person led us to believe he was the technician fixing the device and gracefully received all the instructions. It turned out he was not, he gave device to different person (hence causing the delays) and we suspect he did not even deliver our explicit instructions to them. 3. Device returned with logic board exposed. This shows no care from their side. A caring technician protects the electronics. He could have at least put it inside the protective bag that was in the box, if not place it back in the device. All in all, this store seems to need to go through a bit of a staff training program, get new staff, or develop more standard US business practices. They never gave me any updates I kept calling to check up and they sounded bothered when I would ask questions. The phone diagnosis was finished 5 days ago in San Mateo and still hasn't been sent to Palo Alto for me to pick it up. I have to drive to San Mateo because they are taking way too long and it's been 3 weeks to inspect the water damage. Don't waste your time here unless you are willing to wait. read more

After Apple sent me to Best Buy and Best Buy said my screen had a manufacturer defect and because the warranty ran out, my out of pocket was going to be between $300 and $400. I cannot speak to how they fix phones, but I recently brought my computer in with damage and they were unable to fix it. That is totally fine and I knew that was a possibility, but they said the diagnostic would take 1-2 days and it ended up taking two weeks and was not able to pick my computer back up until almost three weeks later. I also filed an insurance claim and needed an email from them stating that the computer is inoperable due to water damage. However, they never emailed me even after I asked on multiple occasions.
