Sometimes all it takes is a conversation. I can appreciate Chris contacting me about my heating issue. I was able to understand his side of things as a contractor and him understanding my side of the situation as a consumer. In the grand scheme of things being out 75 dollars is much better than being out 500 dollars. I updated my review because Chris didn't have to contact me - he could have gone on to the next customer and things would have continued to move forward but I appreciate honest communication and that is what Chris provided me. So I paid my 75 dollar deductible but I will have the same company coming out to fix the repairs. Sometimes you have to look at a situation through the lens of the other person - that is what I did - regards of the outcome (me paying $75) at least I understand why and to me thats important. read more

Fast Response Heating and Cooling was first contacted on Thursday, July 9, and promptly scheduled an appointment for Friday, July 10. The service technician was very pleasant and quickly arrived at a diagnosis that differed from the one provided by the technician who performs our biannual maintenance on our less-than-three-year-old unit. I was willing to accept that he might be correct. He explained that we would be responsible for a portion of the refrigerant cost and that it could take a couple of days for our home warranty company to authorize the leak detection and refrigerant refill. By the following Tuesday afternoon, we had received no communication or update. I called Fast Response Heating and Cooling and was told--rather coolly, though not rudely--that they had not yet submitted the report to the home warranty company and that they had 48 hours to do so. Shortly after that conversation, I received confirmation from the warranty company that the report had finally been submitted and was under review. The next day, Wednesday, July 15, the home warranty company notified me that the work had been approved. They stated that I would be responsible for paying $195 directly to the service provider for the refrigerant and instructed me to contact Fast Response Heating and Cooling to make payment and schedule the appointment. I called immediately. The representative told me that I would instead need to pay $250 in advance before they would schedule the service. Because this amount did not match what the warranty company had authorized, I asked to speak with a manager. The manager was rude and dismissive, simply stating, "We set the price, not the home warranty company." With temperatures in the 90s all week and our home already without air conditioning for several days, I felt I had no choice but to pay the $250. I made the payment immediately through the text link they sent at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. An hour later, I called to confirm that the payment had been applied to my account and to schedule the service. It is now Thursday, July 16, at 4:14 p.m., and I still do not have an appointment. I have called five or six times. After bypassing the automated AI system, my calls are no longer being answered. Each time, I receive a message saying I have been added to a callback list, yet no one calls back. We have now been without air conditioning for nine days during extremely hot weather. Based on the delays, lack of communication, conflicting pricing, dismissive treatment, and failure to schedule service even after receiving advance payment, I strongly recommend avoiding this company. Their handling of our home warranty claim has been unacceptable and has left us feeling that warranty customers are given little or no priority. read more

Another negative review for this company - would leave negative stars if it was an option. After getting conned into buying a brand-new AC/Furnace in August 2025, I have already had to have them out to service it 3 times. Most recently, on April 1, 2026, I noticed that my AC was not cooling. I called for an appointment, and a tech showed up an hour late, but without a ladder to get to my AC 4 flights up and claimed they didn't know it was on the roof... even after they installed it less than a year ago and have already had to service it once in October 2025. The set up a second appointment for anytime on 4/4/26, but Fast Response was a no call/no show. I talked to 2 supervisors on 4/6/26 and both wanted to schedule a 4/7/26 appointment, which I agreed to even thought it meant taking more time off work. They didn't show up again, but Bill (Central Ohio Supervisor) called at 7pm to berate me for scheduling an appointment for AC when it was 45 degrees outside. I corrected and stated that it was 80 the first two times I had an appointment and this was their fault. He was very disrespectful and rescheduled, for the 4th appointment on Sunday 4/12/26. After sending multiple texts, and then calling Bill on Sunday 4/12 from a new phone number he answered and admitted he was never planning to come out, so would have been another no call/no show had we not tricked him into answering his phone. He said he would send someone out tomorrow. For the 5th appointment, a tech showed up, an hour late and made a very simple fix. You cannot count on this company. They have the worst customer service I've ever dealt with and I can't wait to be done with them after my service contract with them expires in August 2027. It appears this company is the worst ever. I came here to leave a detailed bad review with an accurate timeline. Apparently, the overwhelming 1-star reviews (only because negative stars can't be given) are the consensus. I won't waste my time getting too deep into the weeds. Let's say that from the first visit, it was a bunch of lies, missed appts, poor service, and delays. They just want to make money and do not consider customer satisfaction. Please be advised not to hire them. Hi, The Supervisor/Manager, Fast Response Heating and Cooling, I am writing in connection with the negligence and misdiagnosis of my HVAC issue by your tech/pro, R.J. on July 2nd, 2026, and because of that, my whole family had to suffer in this excessive heat. The techh/pro's initial response that the "system is working at its full capacity" did not satisfy me. He did not even go upstairs to the attic to check my system and the ducts. My family had to suffer through all this for more than a week. Finally upon complaining to my warranty company, the same tech/pro was assigned to look at my issue once again. I wanted a have a different tech/pro to look at my issue as R.J was negligent, misdiagnosed and incompetent to take care of the issue. R.J. came again on July 13th, 2026; he reiterated and insisted that the "system is working at its full capacity" Explaining to him about my frustration and query, "why is the system is not cooling enough. He went upstairs in the attic and found the issue (Dismantled Duct Work), but again, this time he falsely reported that "it is not normal wear and tear". However, if you look at the pictures, it clearly shows the following, which a competent, honest, and diligent tech/pro would report. Here is the report from an independent contractor: "Ductwork in an unvisited attic dismantles itself over time due to thermal expansion, weight strain, and adhesive degradation. Even if no one steps foot in the attic, the extreme environment causes the materials to physically pull apart. This is universally considered normal wear and tear. In the housing and HVAC industries, "wear and tear" refers to the natural, unavoidable physical deterioration of an item over its operational lifespan--even if the asset is left entirely untouched. The fact that nobody enters the attic does not prevent wear and tear. Instead, it allows environmental stressors to quietly break down the materials without early intervention." My warranty company (The American Home Shield) covers this under "Duct Work' up to USD 5000.00, but because of your tech/pro's misreporting, the AHS has considered it under "uncovered services: I am therefore reporting this so that it can be corrected and the repair is done in a timely fashion, before I go any further to write a "bad review" on social media about your company, report your incompetence to the AHS, and report the negligence and incompetency to the Attorney General of Ohio to intervene to resolve this issue. If I don't hear anything in a day or two, I will proceed to the next step. This company is horrible. They replaced my furnace/ac unit less than 8 months ago and was improperly installed. Caused black mold and water damage totaling $8,000 in which they requested I get estimates for the repairs. After estimates they decided to use "their in-house team" for which I still haven't received and have been waiting for repair completion now for almost two months. You cannot get a human being on the phone and your only option is to use the bot. No call no showed multiple times while without heat when they had ordered the part 5 days earlier when each time I called to make sure they were coming that day and I was "guaranteed" they'll be there...day 8 finally get a call from them...and they're saying they don't have the part yet...well that would have been nice to know before you ghosted me day 5 and 6. We were at first appreciative that they could come out on a Sunday with level 3 emergency in place. They took advantage of us and WAY overcharged us. We felt that we had to proceed because of the sub zero temperatures but wish we would have waited. Their communication was poor and hate it that there are companies out there that take advantage during emergency situations. I would not recommend using them. read more

My home warranty offered an A/C check up. They sent a tech from Fast Response. He immediately after turning air on stated it was not cooling. Upon checking outside unit he told me I had no coolant in my a/c and he suspected a leak. He would have to request the home warranty to provide coolant before he could add coolant and determine if and where the leak is and how to fix it. He then quoted that the cost for a new furnace and a/c would cost 12 to 15 thousand. He stated he would put the order in with warranty company to add coolant. Never heard back from Fast Response or my warranty company. I did have another air company come out and he added 1 lb of coolant and it is working fine. When the tech did finally arrived he installed a dirty used fan motor that was making noise. Sorry, we can't fix noise. Back and forth between FAHW and Fast Response. Yes they installed a New motor, no we didn't, yes we did and finally no we didn't. So now because of the criminal conspiracy between the two I have to buy and install a New motor. Ant then there was the great water leak from my a/c unit all over my floor damaging my property. Multiple photos were taken. Tech came out and told me that the drain line was leaking and out of code and he couldn't do anything about the water leaking all over my floor. Tech wanted almost 800$ to replace a piece of 20$ PVC pipe. Come to find out there is no code for the diameter of the drain line and the leak was not coming from the drain line. Lie # 2. I called them in a panic. a full two weeks of 90 plus degree weather and a non functioning Ac unit. within two hours of my call Andrew was at my house diagnosing the issue, requesting parts and have repair tech on his way. less than 2 hours later, my AC was fully functioning and my house was cooling. prompt, professional, knowledgeable and willing to work with me on price to get service completed. Our air conditioner compressor seized in the middle of April. Here are now in the middle of May, one month after we have paid for a replacement of the compressor, and nothing. We had an appointment scheduled for repair, but that was a joke: they didn't have the part but schedule in hopes the part would have been in. I had to miss two days of work due to that. I've used this company atleast 3 times and it was great, BUT THEN THIS TIME 1/31/25(Fri) 9am A technician named Andrew diagnosed that my furnace needs a blower motor and that it would take 5 to 7 days to get the part which was ok, me and my family could go stay somewhere else to stay maybe, but then he calls back and say he has the part and would be back b4 12pm. He calls a little after 12 but I missed the call. I called back 45mins later about 7 times for a few hrs and nothing for the rest of the day. Saturday 2/1/25 I call the office. The supervisor answers and says they're still working on getting the part and he would call me. It hits 3pm, 4, 5, 6pm. My wife then asks if we can go get something to eat, but I didn't know it was my 50th surprise bday party. Fast response called at 7:21pm. I call them Sunday 2/1/25 9:16am the next morning and the same supervisor (SID I think) says he'll get someone out, and he couldn't give a time. I don't go to church, I just sit there all day. 6 30pm I call back and the supervisor tells me he can't get anyone to me and he GAURANTEED I WOULD BE THE 1ST APPT Monday 2/2/25. They open 8:30am and I wait, then 9:23am I call them and Lordis says I'm on the schedule and someone will be out and they'll call 30mins before. I tell her I'm suppose to be the 1st appt. 11am I call back and she says again she doesn't know when. SO either I wasn't the 1st appt or they didn't start work until after 11am. It's now 12:42pm and no call no show. I stayed home again all day and still nothing. They're communication is garbage and they're liars. Tey should communicate that service or a call back will be after 5pm so people can plan their day. Holding me hostage with now communication is unacceptable. THIS WILL BE THE LAST SERVICE I GET FROM THEM! I would go with another provider, but they've already got the blower motor and done the diagnostic so I'm stuck at their mercy, but this will be the last time. Stay far away as you can from this company as they are a complete scam. A tech came out to check our A/C unit and let us know that we simply needed coolant. We were charged $280 to get our coolant refilled just to find out that we actually did not need coolant and the tech simply topped off our coolant (that was already full). The company then blew our compressor during their second appointment and reported the damage as "pre-existing" to our home warranty insurance so they denied our claim. Where do I begin! It's been so humid and hot in Columbus OHIO and we don't have working air conditioning. We don't have working AC since 5/12 and it's now 5/31!!! Somehow my home warranty company uses Fast Response for their cooling and heating system, I had to deal with them twice. (First time was 2yrs ago my heat stopped working) This is my second experience with them and I am not pleased. Not having cool air in this heat is not an emergency to them - because we asked if they can come out to us Saturday and they said it's for emergency only. I have a large dog. She's so hot, and we are so hot. With work conflicts and Westerville power outage, we couldn't have the technician come to our place until 5/20. They looked at the unit outside and said needs to order Reverse Valve. So then they came back 5/25 and AC was supposed to work but it didn't. So then we're so frustrated and calling the company to come back and look at it, they wanted me to be at home at 11:30am on Friday for them to come out again. I'm working and so my fiance who is out of town told them to change the time to 12:30, I can be home by then... BUJT NO ONE showed up. No call backs. No one came to look at my AC unit for the entire memorial weekend. This is not ok. Today we are experiencing 90 degrees in my area and we still don't have AC. Terrible experience. Unprofessional in every single way. Long story short, our babysitter was at our home when he showed up, in the middle of summer. He turned off our AC, took the filter out of furnace in basement, left it on the ground, did not fix the issue or get us back up and running. We have a 4 month old, and a 2 and a half year old, their rooms were 80 degrees each the following night. I put my request for service for my AC unit in 13 weeks ago through my Home Warranty company. There was still snow on the ground - thought I'd get ahead of the Summer rush. We're still fighting to have the repairs done, heading into the 2nd record-breaking heat wave of the spring / summer. Due to my and my husband's work schedules, we can only have service providers to our home Sat - Monday. We told this to customer service on our first conversation. They don't give you a time estimate for when techs come, so we have to be available all day. They also don't provide service on Saturday or Sunday. Week 1 they sent out a tech. He inspects the outside unit for Freon levels, but in order to do any additional inspection, he has to have approval from the warranty company. Long story short: they canceled multiple appointments (can't come when its raining, don't have the part, tech called in sick, etc.), told us the coil was damaged and they were ordering a new part. Ghosted us for 2-3 weeks. Finally answers my call and says they will call when the part comes in. 2 hours later they call and schedule the tech to insert the new coil. Scheduled service day comes and they cancel, says they don't have the part. Then they tell us they can't predict when a new part will be available due to supply chain issues, so they will send a teach to repair the part. Schedule the tech to come remove the current coil. He shows up, removes the part. Ghosts us for another 2-3 weeks. I call multiple times, never get through to anyone and leave multiple voicemails. They never return a phone call. My husband calls and finally gets through to someone. They say they're sending out a tech with the repaired part. The tech comes, thinks he's there to remove the coil. So now we think they've lost our coil. The tech calls his company and they locate our coil and tell us it'll be repaired by Wednesday. We adjust our work schedules to make an appointment for Thursday. Thursday comes and goes, no call, no show. We call and they don't answer. Husband calls again and they finally answer. They say our coil is irreparably damaged and they have to order a new unit. We ask when we can expect the new coil to come in. They say 5-7 business days. We ask to make an appointment for installation the following Monday. They say no, they don't make appointments until they have the part. I call today to check the status and they say they're fighting with manufacturer because the part is under warranty but the manufacturer doesn't want to replace it. I asked them to return the coil they took, because I'd like to seek repair from another vendor. If I don't receive or have an appointment for either my old coil or a new one by the end of this week, I'm seeking legal council and reporting my property stolen. Editing to add: The only people who have been nice / helpful in this endeavor have been the actual technicians themselves. And the customer service rep that I spoke with today (he actually answered & returned a call when I got disconnected. I think his name was Nick). read more

Absolute garbage company. My A/C went out and we were assigned Fast Response per our home warranty with AHS. The company is not supposed to accept a service call if they cant send a technician within 48 business hours but went ahead and took it but didn't bother to send anyone for a full week. The guy they did send never sent in the repair authorization to AHS so another full two days pass and the report has still not been sent in. On top of that they claim they wont be able to get a simple blower motor in stock for a full 7 business days. All of this despite the fact that I have a 7 month pregnant wife in the middle of a high risk pregnancy and we are stuck in a 88 degree house. Avoid at all costs. UPDATE! Got a call from Fast Response stating that because I had left a negative review they were refusing service! This is the worst company ever. After 12 days, 30 phone calls to them and our home warranty, 2 no show appointments, our AC is still broken and it's 95 degrees outside. They finally showed up yesterday to repair the AC. They originally told us that it was just the thermostat that needed to be replaced, which made no sense given the "symptoms" we described. When we pushed further, he said that we probably just need more Freon but that probably wouldn't fix the problem and that we should pay him $9,900 to replace our external unit and our furnace.... our furnace is fully functioning so not sure why on earth we would need to replace the full thing and not just the evaporator but he was probably just banking on the young first time home buyers being dumb and clueless. Worse than that though was when we shared the written quote with a reputable HVAC company, they laughed at it and said it was over double what it should cost for the parts listed and for the size of our home. The technician put us in an extremely uncomfortable position and told us we needed to decide between spending $600 to not even fix the problem or $9,900 because he was only working until 4 (it was 3:15), had two more calls 40 minutes away, and lived in Columbus. They can make us wait 2 weeks but they can't wait 5 minutes for a serious financial decision? Unacceptable. He literally left our house without doing anything and we had to yell after him to remind him that at a minimum he needed to replace the thermostat. But he didn't even have the necessary parts in his truck and told us to call back in a few days. Terrible company. Submitted to my warranty company that I had a backdraft issue, which was not true And was never mentioned to me in person or on receipt! Fast response told me I had a cracked heat exchanger caused by age of my furnace! Which was 49 plus years old! I took the loss of 1500 from warranty from their faulty diagnosis but they lost out on a 6000 Plus furnace install! Fast Response is a joke for sure. Let's see - first they no call/no show me to do a check on an AC I purchased FROM THEM only 3 years ago. So I call the next day and was told the guy saw my address and had been here before and knew he needed a ladder and didn't have 1 on his truck. So I just sat around all day and no one bothered to call me. BTW I have a ladder he could have used...I have an attic AC so pretty much common sense I would have a ladder. So waited a few more days to get back on the schedule. Different guy comes out - runs around for a few hours, says it is good to go and leaves. 2 weeks later - it is not cooling again. So - Tuesday I call, wait 20-25 minutes on hold and finally a woman says she has to get with the tech and will call me back. I hear nothing back. Next day same thing. One star company. AHS assigned these folks to me, will not use them again. Customer service doesn't exist, wants to argue with the customer. I paid $75 to have a HVAC tune-up, see attached photo showing description of items that were supposed to be completed. I received a quick visual inspection, no receipt left. Tech didn't clean the burners & it needs it. Just received a bad explanation of why they didn't do what they were supposed to do. Why not finish? Refused to come back to finish the job. Been without heat for 3 weeks now. For the second week in a row, we were told that the tech would be out on a specific day but they could not give us a window for arrival. We were told they would call 30 min ahead of arrival. After calling in about mid-day to see if we could get an update, we were told that the tech called us (which they did not) and rung the doorbell (which they did not) and that we would have to wait another whole week. Our home warranty company has them as their preferred vendor, and we dealt with them 2 years ago for the same issues, and had similar problems. Here is the response that I sent to Fast Response when they emailed me after finding out that I wasn't "satisfied" with their service. I am disappointed that I cannot give 0 stars for the review. Where do I even start? Your lack of service has been substandard since the first time we were forced to utilize your company. There has been misinformation told to us every single time we used you. Each time, we hear a story from someone in your customer service office, then American Home Shield calls and tells us something completely different. We call back to your location to confirm what is going on, talk to a completely different person, and get a third additional story. There has not only been inconsistency between your organization and American Home shield....but also a ridiculous amount of inconsistency among your own employees. We have had to use your services more than once and have been dis-satisfied every. single. time. We have never heard the same story twice in one service situation. We have never had you respond quickly. We have never had the problems fixed even close to when you estimate they will be fixed. The single only positive thing about your company is dealing with the actual service tech that has been to our home. This is not coming from me, but from my husband, who developed a very good relationship with him and liked him very much. But even this time, we were given misinformation from him. He assured us that the part that had rusted was under warranty, as well as all of the parts that were damaged by it. He said the only thing we could be responsible for was the Freon, which we understood. We are not unreasonable people. But lo and behold, the grand total to repair a 25 year old unit was close to $2500. If we had been told that immediately, we would have asked him to quote us a new unit. Instead we spent the next week sweating, waiting for the wrong answer to come back to us. Then.....in one single day, a rep from your office tells us that the parts "should be in tomorrow" and 10 minutes later, another rep says you're "waiting on disposition from AHS. Also, I am not sure what you are referring to in your e-mail by "So long as services were rendered within 2 business days of receipt, that is within guidelines set by your warranty provider." Nothing close to 2 business days has ever happened, unless you mean....someone will let us know in 2 days that the problem may be resolved in 3 weeks. Enough is enough. It is clear to me that you have built your business on lies. It is very important that you make NO MISTAKE in thinking that is mostly the fault of AHS, or the out of pocket $2500 we were going to have to pay. This is your company. Period We purchased a new unit from a reputable company for $7,000. I am 100% positive that you could have come in much lower than that. Rob (I believe is the tech's name) wanted to quote it out and was persistent about it, There was absolutely no way that I would allow that, thinking that I may have to use your company for service someday. That sounded like an absolute nightmare to me, and I would have gladly paid double to not do so. I have shared my experience with others as well, as I wouldn't want my worst enemy to experience the service from your company. DO NOT LET PEOPLE IN YOUR HOME FOR ANYTHING!!!! My Home Owners Warranty recommended a Service Check for my AC Unit that was working fine TODAY before they arrived! NOW...I have no Air! I called them and they refused to come back. I read these reviews of YELP and discussed it with my Home Owner's Company as to why they were using this company when they received such POOR reviews on YELP. I am waiting for my Home Owner's Company to call me back after this disaster and they need to correct this situation and drop Fast Response from their list of Contractors. read more

American Shield assigned this company to service out a/c on June 2, a Tuesday. They never called to schedule an appointment. We called them. They said the soonest they could come out was Tuesday, June 9. I also setup our cable to be serviced that day since I'll be waiting anyway. Never have they reached out to us. I guess they have too much business to be organized to live up to their name. Tuesday, today, I call the company to confirm my morning blocked appointment. The young lady was very polite and began every sentence with "Ma'am I apologize." She apologized that someone supposedly tried to get in touch with me the day before. 1. I work every Monday so I don't schedule appointments on Mondays. 2. The only miss call I have on my cell was a five second VM with no message. 3. My family was home all day and my ring.com doesn't show anyone at our door. I asked why email or text weren't sent for confirmation. I was told they are to busy to do that. I switched service companies with America Shield. As soon as I hung up from making my new appointment, American Shield texted me confirmation. Someone isn't using their contract with American Shield to the fullest. You see the stars. They already have too much business. read more

Fast Response Heating & Cooling was assigned to perform my annual furnace tune-up through my home warranty company HSA. I requested the work on November 1st, 2021, Fast Response called to schedule on Nov 4th. I was driving during the call and was unable to write all the detail down assuming I'd receive an email outlining our scheduled information. I did know that the date was Nov 30th anytime after 1200. Today (November 30th) I got home at 1100 and began working on raking leaves at 1300. At 1530, I called Fast Response and spoke to a woman name Courtney asking what time to expect them. She responds that the technician put in a note that the homeowner was unavailable at 1454. WTH?? I was in the front yard raking leaves! She also said that the tech should've called me 30 minutes prior to arriving. I received no call at all! I asked her for a manager's contact information and she just gave me her first name (Tish) and mentioned that she's currently out of the office. Very unprofessional. I'm at 21 years in the military and lack of communication and unprofessionalism are my biggest pet peeves when doing business. This company is totally shit. I schedule an appointment with them to fix my AC, and I waited the whole day and the tech never showed or called. I call the next day, and they said that I told the tech not to come, since the work order cancelled. Total lies. read more

Terrible service and low quality technicians. Do not use this company if you can help it. Our furnace experienced problems less than two weeks after our pre-season check. A second company came out and explained what the technician should have caught. read more

Very unprofessional!!! The tech sent to my house was afraid to go under the house after seeing a spider. He added too much Freon to my unit which is now causing it to freeze. The unit wasn't freezing the repair order request was air seeping from the part in the house and the blower not blowing when the unit was on. The unit was not frozen when he arrived because the unit was in and the service order could not be completed or attempted with a frozen unit. The dispatcher Stephanie will attempt to diagnose and obviously told me the incorrect information about a coil when the issue was with the improper amount of Freon added by their tech. I requested a supervisor from this company to get my frozen levels back to we're they were before because the additional Freon is causing my unit to freeze and the supervisor which is not a tech refused to have their error fixed and advised no work can be done u til the warranty company authorizes the part which had nothing to do with Freon levels being off by their tech. The original scheduled day was cancelled the day of after I had already taken off work and there is no window to when you would get service you will sit all day so basically I waited another day for crappy service. Nicholas was the supervisor I spoke to and had no idea what was going on. Worse experience ever never again and definitely will not recommend. read more
