A05 gallery features work from a variety of artists in so many mediums. Dr. Seuss collection is one of their consistently highlighted pieces. In addition, they also have a Disney section. The key thing I like most about this art gallery is the uniqueness of the pieces - from African inspired pieces to Austin-centric pieces. There are works of art portrait-like to many items that are abstract, my personal favorite pieces of art. Today, I wanted to see if they had any lacquered pieces. The ones on display were of Marilyn Monroe and Madonna. Not sure I want to view these ladies every day... Smile. It was great to see Todd again, the manager of the store. He reminded me that they were open 7 days a week and that they had more pieces online. Todd is always so pleasant to talk to. By chance, I visited Blue Skies Art & Frame shop on the first or second day of its opening. I had not scheduled an appointment and Malu wasn't quite yet ready to be able to serve a walk in. I mentioned I would be leaving town for a month or two that same day so I, unfortunately, would not be able to schedule an appointment around that time. I was very understanding as to why I couldn't be helped but to my pleasant surprise she accommodated me without hesitation. Malu guided me through the process with such patience and positivity that I left knowing my personal item was in the best possible place and in the best possible hands. Malu kept me informed on the progress throughout the process, which I appreciated. After months went by, I finally returned to Austin and her shop. I still remember seeing the finished product for the first time hanging on her wall and immediately being blown away. The frame absolutely exceeded my expectations, and I could not be happier with how it came out. Even though Malu had been busy the months prior getting her business set up, she still remembered how important the item was to me and treated it and me with care to the very last moment. The fact that the frame came out beautifully and my family loves it, is the cherry on top. I'm not one to write reviews, but this is the best framing experience I've ever had, hands down. The art gallery receptionist was very personable and allowed guests to enter with drinks from a nearby coffee shop. She also encouraged exploration on the second floor. Upstairs you could view some pieces still in progress. In addition, the pieces ranged from inexpensive to more pricier pieces.

I ended up at Arrowhead after hitting up a couple other shops who couldn't help. The guy there (I think his name was Harlem) was able to take a moment to not only detach the frame, but carefully remove the glued art, clean the glass, and reassemble...all as a courtesy. He also shared the risk of framing anything valuable between glass for risk of condensation/mold and other expertise along the way. Even though I wasn't there for any custom framing, his care for the art, frame quality and preservation far surpassed my expectations. Just filled my heart right up with gratitude. If you have any art or valuables that would relish in a crafted display, keep this family business on the top of your mind.
