Don't expect the online appointment time thing to work at all, fine I can sit for a while, not that much of an urgency. The nurse was unnecessarily aggro. "Where are you from?". "Where do you think I'm from?". I told him I had high blood pressure, he takes it, its higher than normal. He says " you DO have high blood pressure". No shit dude, you're stressing me out. Told me the Dr would come in, left. A little while later I hear this same guy (outside the room) saying " that room is ok, that room is ok, you don't want to go in that room". LOL, what? Is my injury so bad a Dr wouldn't want to enter the room I'm in? Or was it someone else that absolutely heard you? If you're gonna be kinda shitty, use an indoor voice. Boyfriend came in with a stomach bug, i had the same thing a couple days ago, fairly simple bug but the danger is the dehydration. Just needed some Zofran and an IV. It took over an hour for us to be seen by a doctor, and he just told us to go somewhere else because they don't have any fluids or testing for bugs. Very frustrating and disappointing. read more

I smashed the f*** out of my big toenail with a dehumidifier, and it totally separated from the nail bed and was hanging on by the skin at the base. It was badly bruised and super painful, and all I wanted was to have the nail removed. I went to this urgent care center, and the doctor told me he couldn't remove the nail because the toe was infected. I said it was red and swollen because of the trauma and bruising, but he insisted that it was infected. He wrote a prescription for doxycycline and had the nurse wrap up my toe with gobs of antibiotic ointment. They tried to refer me to some random podiatry center, but I followed up on my own with a podiatrist at ARC. She told me my toe was definitely NOT infected, and I was correct that the redness and swelling were just from the trauma. She removed the nail, and I had immediate relief. The procedure took about 10 minutes, including the time it took for the lidocaine to kick in. The actual removal was less than a minute. I get that she was a specialist, but it seemed like something any doctor should have been able to do, especially since it was already fully separated from the nail bed. I feel like I wasted my time and money at this urgent care. read more

There's nothing urgent about FastMed Urgent Care and if it wasn't so close to my house I would never come. But this is the last time. The staff is so unwelcoming at the desk. They are NEVER on time- as I sit here it's 22 minutes past my appointment time and I was informed upon checking they are running "very very behind". As I watch workers sit in the back. Doing nothing. And forget about it if you have an actual emergency- you can't get seen without a prior appointment and apparently they are running at least 24 hours out at all times. Do not go to this Urgent Care. I went here because I injured my foot. They took an xray and did not give me the xray before I left. When I called to ask about it, they said I could come in and get the xray before my follow up appointment with my podiatrist any time they were open. When I arrived, the handicap function on the door didn't work and no one was able to give me my xray because a technician wasn't present (causing me to have to wait an extra week to see my podiatrist.) When I asked to speak to a manager, they said she wasn't there today and I would have to come back the next day to talk to one. Noone was willing to help. I returned the next day to get my xray and talk to the manager. The xray disc didn't work and I ended up having to get xrays done at my other doctor as a result. Customer service here stinks. They do not care. Please find a different place to go! read more

Shameful level of incompetence when it comes to billing. I visited this location in May 2023, paid a co-pay upon said visit, and confirmed on my way out that no additional amount was owed. I also received an email that day confirming the payment. I did not receive any further bills or invoices from FastMed after that visit. No physical mail or email correspondence whatsoever. Now, almost a year later, I received correspondence from a debt collector that my account was placed in collections for a $45 balance.. Reportedly this location charged the wrong co-pay amount during my visit, and I needed to pay the rest of the co-pay. My physical address has not changed since that visit, nor has my email, but FastMed did not reach out to me once about their error in the last 10 months, and now I am dealing with a collection agency over a ridiculous $45 balance. How could I ever trust visiting this location again, with having no guarantee or protection against randomly hearing from a debt collection agency almost a year later? Do better. read more

This is the third and last time I try Fast med urgent care. I was referred here by my PCP because I was severely dehydrated and needed a fluid IV because I had food poisoning for the past three days. They say "walk in clinic" on the website but proceeded to tell me they have appointments booked the whole day for every 15 minutes. There were three nurses sitting around doing nothing and not a single person in the waiting room and they said they were too busy. She gave me this card for a hangover center instead. I've never had a good experience here but since my physician recommended it I thought I'd give them another chance. 3 strikes you're out, I can see why this place has such bad reviews, they've earned them. Tested positive for Flu A one week ago and prescribed Tamiflu. Came to Fast Med one week later with trouble breathing, pulse ox in mid/low 70s, coughing dark green sputum. Everything hurts. I'm 40. Never a smoker, Full-time employee with a Master's Degree. I'm not grifting. I have work to do. Family, coworkers, people count on me. Practitioner (no doctor on site) ordered chest x ray but no radiologist to interpret result. Sill waiting to see if they call me. Practitioner wanted to prescribe a second round of Tamiflu, which had caused double vision and hallucinations. I refused. Practitioner entered exam room finding me crying of frustration and said in exasperated tone, "Oh great, why are you crying?" Wanted to say, "Because as usual I don't feel heard by old white men who don't listen to me." Actually said, "You're not listening to my experience. I know my body." Well meaning husband held my hand and told me to stop crying. I lost a child to a medical mistake. I've had Flu A twice in my life, and both times spent weeks in the hospital, months recovering from secondary pneumonia infection. I get vaccinated every year. I have a Primary Immune deficiency and see an immunologist for treatment. Lastly, none of practitioners nor patients wore masks while coughing. I'm afraid of hospitals, full PTSD. Who will take care of my special needs nursing preemie son if I end up in hospital again? read more

Went 7/5 for a covid test, chest xray (covered by my insurance) and got prescription strength allergy meds. They said they would charge me $160 up front before even being seen even though I tried to say several times that my copay is only $50. Their billing dept when I called a week later said they needed an Explanation of Benefits sent to refund me and that I would have to call to get a refund, which I thought was crazy. On July 26th the next rep I spoke to said I wouldn't have to call to get the refund back but they were still waiting on an EOB. My insurance said they sent it on July 15th. Yesterday I was on the phone with my insurance again and they called three numbers and got only voicemails, none of which were returned to either of us. When I spoke to them again today I got an email saying they were still waiting for my insurance to finalize the bill, and when I called insurance AGAIN they said that was false, it has been finalized for weeks, and tried calling three more numbers, none of which picked up. I am at the end of my wits and need my $110 back. My insurance said that the $160 should never have been charged and are extremely confused as to what is happening with FastMed. They are obviously just giving us the run around to keep these funds at this point. Do not go here if you have any other options available to you. Unfriendly and unwelcoming staff. Was a complete waste of time and $180 out of pocket (not including whatever they charged my insurance). I left here knowing exactly the same amount of information that I walked in knowing, e.g., it was a waste of time and money. The entire appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. Seriously. Some kid came in to ask a few questions and mispronounce my first name even though it's very easy to say. At this point I knew I had made a mistake coming to this place. Then a nurse came in and spent 2 minutes examining me. Yes, 2 minutes. That was it. No, it wasn't busy. I was the only person there besides the employees. It was an odd experience all around and I left not knowing anything more than when I came in. The receptionist had me fill out a form and told me to go sit in waiting area. After 10 minutes, with more blood flowing and zero attention AT ALL, I asked if I would be seen by someone. Been to better urgent care clinics and didn't take $180 hit just to be seen by a sub par provider. Better off seeing that sketchy witch doctor behind your nearest recreational center because this place is not it. Save your money and your patience for some quality health care. I would not recommend this location and would suggest finding a doctor directly. I made an appointment due to a skin issue and was informed I would be provided with a referral. They were unable to assist in setting up a referral appointment, as well, Westlake Dermatology was unable to assist for over a month out. I ended up finding a dermatologist basically right next door, who was able to see me the next day. They were able to address my issue in minutes and with ease, as well, I spent a fraction of what I was charged at this Urgent Care location. I would avoid this practice, as ethics do not seem to be in line with their operation. read more

Giving 1 star as this was listed as an in network for my insurance - however they bill against your deductible so you end up paying out of pocket for the entire visit. My co pay is usually $40 but I paid $180 out of pocket for a 15 minute appt. I came in last night around 6:15pm after busting my butt on a new pair of roller skates. I landed on top my bent ankle, and while I knew it wasn't broken, I couldn't walk on it. We arrived to the clinic and my partner went inside to ask for some crutches so I could get inside, when someone came to the car with a wheelchair to assist me inside. I checked in on the tablet and filled out my info and was in the exam room within ten minutes. I first met with EMT Jay who was so kind and helpful (I was a blubbering and embarrassed mess). He took my vitals, checked the mobility of my ankle and foot and wrapped me up with an ice pack while I waited for the radiologist. Next, I was wheeled to the X ray room with Omar, who was comical, quick, and accommodating. We had to get creative with leg positioning as I was still in the wheel chair, but we got the scans done within minutes. He wheeled me back to my room and next I met with PA Vaishali, who explained to me that it was a very bad sprain and what to expect in the next few days. She explained what to do and when in order to help me heal faster. Omar came back in to help fit me with and orthopedic boot and showed me to how to put it on and off and how to use the crutches, he even explained the billing aspect of the crutches and boot, something I would have no doubt had to call back and ask about. Listen, I have had bad experiences in urgent care before, and this was not one of them. I know I went on and on, but spraining my ankle was really scary as I'm not used to being cared for (I work in childcare), but everyone I encountered made me feel safe and cared for and like I was gonna be ok. read more

They have clinics that are not even open anymore don't tell you that until you are there and see an empty building and then this branch REFUSES to honor the check in time you originally had because "we aren't the same" then don't have the same name! Fast Med needs to update their information as well as HONOR your check in time when it is THEIR mess up!!! Kid at the front needs customer service training! Avoid this location and this company if you can! There are others that charge the SAME and are nicer both in locations, setting, and personnel! I sat there unable to breathe while a man with a "hurt wrist" was seen, xrayed and discharged. You people are literally are just incompetent. Complaints have been filed with the state & the city of Austin. Oh, I sure hope I didn't have corona as you left me sitting there gasping for air for two hours while it felt like my "lungs were collapsing." This place should be shut down & it's employees would deserve that. Also, how about actually checking on a patient when they can't breathe? Once I finally got into a room (with no windows mind you), I was not once checked on for over 50 minutes. Total incompetence at its finest. I also like how you I'm the only negative review you didn't give your email to. I fully intend to send emails to FastMed daily from this point on, this facility is a liability and will be shut down. These people are a waste of space. COMPLETELY empty waiting room, I checked in online and I still had to wait over 2 hours to be seen by a PA. This is literally the last place you should go unless you want to die waiting to see an actual dr. Filthy, expensive, incapable and unqualified staff. This place is like the 7th layer of Hell. It is inexcusable to have waits this long when you're empty (except one guy with a hurt wrist who walked in after i was ther for 40 minutes). I didn't think ratings in urgent care mattered until this experience. First off, asked me if I knew how to use a tablet? What? I've had people hand me tablets to fill out forms for years. What makes you think I don't know how to use one? Strange question. Nurse asked me to take off my shirt and bra in front of her and didn't provide me with a gown (just a piece of paper). Put on EKG stickers and didn't provide me with anything to clean them up with or show me to the bathroom (still topless at this point so...) The paper to cover my breasts stuck to my body and the sticky crap and I had paper and glue all over my hands and breasts...not to mention the whole reason why I came in here and was in pain and discomfort. The shirt I came in with is ruined and I had to leave with my bra in hand. There is no privacy between the waiting room and your room's door, so when you're topless inside people in the waiting room can see you. And! There's not a trashcan in the bathroom. What if I needed to dispose of a sanitary product? I guess you need to show that to everyone here. No apology, no space to even explain the issues you had. Don't come here. Update: I went to a proper medical facility after this and got another EKG...and they actually explained how and when to remove the stickers. They have a new policy that requires you to pay prior to seeing the physician if you have not met your deductible. The cost will not match you plans established discounts. The upfront cost is nearly the same as paying out of pocket. If you have a good insurance organization that can help dispute the cost you should be able to get most charges remove. Services were okay and struggled to communicate effectively. The primary physician was helpful and went out of his way to confirm that he would be able treat my injury prior to paying. Disclaimer: They probably won't confirm treatment before hand for everyone so trend with caution. read more

I went in with my daughter to get a sore throat treated and as I was providing my information to check-in she said she was nauseous. As I helped her to the restroom, she collapsed. It was a scary time, as she was unresponsive and the staff at FastMed reacted quickly to air her while EMT's were on the way. The people at FastMed were calm, kind, and professional during a stressful episode, and I feel grateful that they are so close to my home. read more

As I currently do not have good insurance I went to have my medications refilled. Without signing any documents nor was I given any literature or polices, the receptionist gladly took my money for the visit ahead of the appointment (I paid cash, $119). She asked me why I was there and my response was to refill medications. No more questions were asked. I was then brought back with the technician who took vitals. Again asking me why I was there I said to refill medications. There was no objection on her end, seemed logical this was something they could do. After meeting and spending time with the physician assistant (all the people thus far have been nice), I was informed they cannot refill medications like regular doctors offices and that I would need to see a family doctor (I mainly needed blood pressure medication). The practitioner's justification was that I had to have blood work done to test kidney function before prescribing. All of my other doctors I have worked with have been able to prescribe without a full work-up. This is simply FastMed trying to bill more and collect more revenue. Nonetheless, if the practitioner cannot prescribe the medication, that is fine. No worries. BUT, for them to take my payment to refill meds without telling me or showing me a list of conditions than cannot be treated without prior blood work to me is fraudulent and the services I requested were not performed. I did not need to pay $119 to have someone tell me they can't do something, that makes no sense. This is just a business trying to get over on someone, plain and simple. read more

I have been to the Mueller location about 4 times, for the very same condition (Uveitis), and the service had been great, knowledgeable and friendly people. Today, after checking in online describing EXACTLY what my condition was, I went, signed-in, once again explaining the reason for my visit and was made to pay $150 in advance, after waiting an hour to see the "PA Evans", she plainly told me she did not feel qualified to even check my eye, that I should go elsewhere. And they refused to issue a refund to my Credit Card. Why accept a patient they are unqualified to treat? And charge for services NOT rendered? 150 curses on them! read more
