Dr Greg and nurse Maria took great care of me. I sliced my pointer finger open late night meal prepping and it wouldn't stop bleeding for 2 hours and then went numb. I made the decision to drive here and I came in a little panicked. They calmed me down and Greg numbed my finger and stitched it up within 15 mins of being there. I recently dislocated my shoulder and was in extreme pain and distress. From the moment I arrived, the staff was absolutely amazing, attentive, and genuinely caring. They listened to me and did everything they could to help ease my pain. The doctor (DR Craig) was incredible and skilled; he was able to pop my shoulder back into place with such precision that it honestly didn't hurt nearly as much as I expected (nothing like what you see in the movies)! I truly believe that's because he's so experienced and confident in what he's doing. If you're ever in pain (though I hope you never are), I highly recommend coming to this location. My partner of 18 years died a after visiting here. he was afraid of any type of medical care. He was sure the worst would happen and would get so upset when I suggested he go to a dr for anything. Unlike my partner tho if I know I'm not well I can't handle waiting and stressing about my health so I became a fairly regular customer of this ER and for the most part had overwhelmingly positive experiences there with multiple doctors -- so when my partner all of a sudden had a horrible cough and a slew of other symptoms (fevers, body aches, pain while breathing) it took me a ton of convincing for me to get him to go anywhere but he agreed to go to this ER about 3 weeks after he had really started to be sick and the fevers were breaking almost every time he would fall asleep at this point. When we got there he wouldn't get out of the car and he looked so scared and I remember asking him what is the worst thing you think could happen in there? And he said 1: they misdiagnose me and make things worse and 2: they admit me and won't let me leave. I promised him that I'd literally fight everyone in the building if I had to but that I wouldn't leave without him no matter what and he let me walk him in. they tested him for Covid and the flu and both were negative and I had told him I thought he had an upper respiratory infection bc I've had those a couple of times before myself -- but after they x-rayed his lungs they saw fluid in one and he was diagnosed with a lower respiratory infection (pneumonia). They prescribed a steroid, some albuterol, and a zpack antibiotics and we both just felt his incredible sense of relief so I ran him home and then grabbed his meds for him. That relief didn't last long as he started taking all of his meds and initially nothing was improving but instead I started to feel by day 3 he was actually worse and I started telling him we should go back or that he should at least call in and give them his symptoms to get some updated advice but he had read that it would take a week for the treatment to have any real effect and that it would get worse before it got better --- add to that, I felt sure that if whatever he was dealing with was potentially fatal that this ER would have said so or even given some type of caution to be weary of but I've reread his paper work from them a million times and it does say to contact them if his symptoms hadn't improved in the next few days but nothing at all about any red flags to be mindful of or anything -- and technically one symptom had gone away about 4 days into the meds as he stopped breaking fevers every time he fell asleep. Not even a full week after his visit tho (6 days) he breaks my line of sight on him for about 3 minutes and when I look in on him he's on his back and looks unconscious and not in a sleeping position and I fucking lose it. I start screaming and begging him to wake up as I check for his pulse and it's there still And I start cpr and call 911. The operator literally counts the chest compressions for me on speaker phone as I'm just sobbing and begging him to come back to me and then she tells me that I need to let two officers in that are arriving first and as soon as one ems person arrives they won't let me stay with him and hold his hand while they try to bring him back- I'm asked to wait in the hall --About 20 minutes later they tell me they're sorry for my loss as the 10 Or 12 people file out of my apartment and I called his brother to go break the news to his mother bc I didn't want her to be alone when she heard and he can't comprehend it either. He keeps asking me how could this happens and I'm sobbing and trying to tell him I don't know and that I swear I wish it woulda been me instead, that if I could have I would have taken his place in a second and that i fought to revive him with a sense of desperation that I can't even articulate. It would take them another two weeks for the toxicology report to come in and I was desperate for this autopsy report to have some update to it that would help me understand why this happened to him but instead they just updated his cause of death from pending to complications from pneumonia bc he had no drugs in his system as I had said repeatedly from the beginning. So ya my partner and I put all of our confidence in this ER and it literally ruined my entire life. I have to figure out where I will live, if I want to live, what do I want to do with myself and I have to table my grief so I don't lose what little I have left --- all because we ignorantly just leaned on Dr Farr's diagnosis. I went in on night shift Tuesday 6/24/25 for personal reasons too embarrassed to tell but I wanted to give this place a shout out. I have been to many ERs for various things in the past and the staff here was so friendly and quick! They seemed genuine and caring and I thought I was going to be there for hours but when I checked in it only took minutes to get seen and questioned about my concerns with a thorough check. As soon as we were finished it only took a few minutes to discharge (I was there for an hour) and while I was walking through the nurses station one of the nurses told me "feel better love!" And I thought that was thoughtful! Overall great friendly fast and efficient experience! I drove here from work and am glad I chose this facility on my maps. read more

On a Monday night I was experiencing loss of vision, weak body, numb hands and fingers, and a 2 day long headache. I was quickly rushed to the back. I met 4 different staff members all of which had impeccable bedside manners. I was very scared and they all made me feel cared for. The doctor came in (I think it was Dr Craig De Waal) he diagnosed me after running 4 test. He was personable, and explained exactly what happened so I understood what my body was going through. He promised me that anything they do- Should NOT hurt and kept me comfortable while I received potassium transfusions. I believe it was a nurse but his was name Ace- he was the best part of the experience. I wasn't able to orally keep medicine down and he assured me they were going to get me back to my normal health! He checked on me all night and definitely knew what he was doing. All staff was amazing and if I'm in bad health I will come here everytime. read more

This place is great! After taking a spill on my bike, I came in with a broken thumb and some pretty significant road rash. Clarisse and Katherine took my info and I was able to be seen very quickly. The nurses were great! After a few X-rays confirmed the break, Selena and Lily treated my thumb being very considerate of pain levels, bandaged me up, got me some prescriptions to prevent infection, and got me out the door. The staff was even kind enough to walk me through the bandaging process again the next day when I couldn't remember the specifics and resolved a billing issue quickly and fairly. And with a no interest payment plan they make it as easy as possible. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

I went in today because I hurt my knee a few weeks back and it not only didn't heal, it kept getting worse. And because the pain had grown intense and it was Memorial (no ortho's offices open), I opted to go to Austin Emergency Center. From the minute I entered, I was greeted warmly. It wasn't crowded so I was also seen promptly. What mattered most, of course, is that I was treated with great care. Everyone who helped me from Michelle at admissions, Drew, my nurse, Dr De Waal, Ethan, the ER Tech, and the lovely radiology tech who did my X-rays, was super professional and kind. I highly recommend this center and will definitely go back should I need emergency services again. read more

I was visiting from out of town, and apparently got very dehydrated after a fun weekend at ACL. My doctor in Nevada urged me to go to Urgent Care. We called 3 places. One told us they had a 4 hour wait, another refused to give us a wait time, but Austin Emergency said they had no current wait, and to come on down. I was seen within 15 minutes, had great care with several kind and efficient nurses and Dr. Campbell. I was hooked up to an IV, they ran lab work and determined what was wrong. I decided to go in for chest pain. the doctor seems to not care and was already "over it" before he walked n the room assuming that whatever I had going on couldn't possibly be his problem because I wasn't in deathly pain in the moment. after paying my co pay for the approved insurance, I received a $2000+ bil in the mail saying I owe them a bill. all of this wasn't even close to being worth the trip OR money. this place sucks and if you want to get real emergency treatment I would recommend someplace else. read more

I definitely recommend coming here. I came in and unlike most places they actually took the time to figure out what was wrong instead of brushing me off. The building is clean and the staff is very nice to their patients! You can tell everyone that works here actually wants to be here and wants to help their patients get better. I went in with my wife on 4/11/23 because she had been in pain for almost 2 days and had a fever of 103.3. First of all, I do want to say that almost all the staff at the emergency center have been great. We have 2 children and just had our son go in with a broken arm. The receptionist was incredibly nice as well as the nurses. Anyway, they did the normal vital check and proceeded to do a swab of her nose to see if she had Covid or the flu. Her heart rate was elevated and she did have a temperature when we went in. The tests came back negative and the nurse told us that the doctor was going to come in and see us. Dr Ann Czarnik came in the room, leaned on the counter with her arms crossed and said that she didn't have Covid or the flu and that it was probably some kind of viral thing. I told her that she has been like this for almost 2 days. That she hadn't eaten and her throat and head were hurting so bad. She looked annoyed and told me, "well that's not that long" and that she could have them give her an IV if she wanted or we could just go home. Never once did she even look at her throat or touch her in any way. Super disappointed in the care or lack of that we received. My wife stayed in pain for the entire next day until we were going to just go to another ER. I decided to call teladoc instead. We answered some questions and they sent in a prescription for an antibiotic and something for her throat. It took 10 minutes and cost us $25. It was around 2am when we went so I don't know if we woke her or she just didn't care about seeing us. I know that if it were one of her loved ones she would have at least taken a second to look at her throat(she would have seen all the white puss) or see if there was something that she could do that to just tell us basically to go home and deal with it. Broke my heart to just take her home and have her be in pain and feel helpless. read more

So beware. I broke my ankle a week ago and was taken to this place. After X-ray they told me I had the most severe ankle brake one could have. They wanted me to have a CT for the orthopedist and I refused. I visited the surgeon today and they looked at the X-ray that these scam artists took. They said I had broken just 2 not 3 bones and didn't even do more X-ray before scheduling my surgery for Wednesday. That could not understand why a CT was even mentioned. Once again just another health care establishment trying to take your money. I will take an ambulance anywhere before going here again even though it is in my back yard! read more

When we arrived there was no wait, and the nurses and staff were very attentive and kind. They made sure to take the best care of me and help find out what was going on. We were in and out within an hour and they got his prescriptions called in before the pharmacies closed. I wasn't feeling good and needed to get in to see my doctor ASAP but the next appointment available would not be for another month. I had seen this emergency center many a times because the Starbucks I frequent is literally steps from the building. I decided to give it a try. I walked in filled out some paperwork and was called in to see the doctor immediately. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes . The doctor was thorough, asked questions,, and allowed me to answer. He listened and didn't interrupt. He was great but I have to say that the stars of this place are the nurses, phlebotomists, and X-ray techs. Each and every one of them catered to my needs and made sure I was good every step of the way. I'm writing this as I wait for test results. I'm on an IV and I've had a CT SCAN. ALL IN LESS THAN 45 minutes!! So far I highly recommend this place. read more

Dr. Rodriguez and Selena were very warm, professional, and welcoming during my rapid antibody COVID test, and I really enjoyed my visit overall! I was impressed at how quickly Selena roomed me and collected my nasal swab sample. She was very understanding of the fact that my Thanksgiving plans hinged on the results of this test, and strove to deliver my results ASAP. I also appreciated how Dr. Rodriguez took the time to explain the mechanism of COVID infection and why risk factors such as cholesterol intake increased symptoms. He was very informational and open to questions, so I would recommend seeing him if you're curious with asking more questions! Better off just going to the nearest hospital / another urgent care near you. I went in for severe chest pain and the dr who saw me 100% did not care nor believe me when I was telling him what was going on. He asked me questions And when I would answer them, he would twist my words and try and contradict what I was saying. I got to the point that I said "please, will you just listen to me". After one of the tests were clear, a nurse walked in to let me know what my charge for my visit would be and told me they needed to take payment upfront before they treated me. I told them I could make a payment but there's no way I could pay over 1000$ right there on the spot. They then discharged me bc I wasn't an "emergency" and refused to treat me. Never experienced anything like that in my entire life. Do not go here unless you're trying to be get mistreated. I left here feeling worse as well bc the dr pushed on my chest really hard a few times, even after I pulled away and kept telling him it hurt and now I'm experiencing more pain than when I went in. read more
