I like the speed and the intake nurse. She was thorough and asked good questions and actually listened! I didn't like the nurse who weighed me because she had on perfumed lotion and I have sensitivities to perfumes and lotions. I felt that the doctor didn't really listen to what I was telling him, especially since I was 100% certain what the root cause and treatment was...since I have experienced it so many times before. Extremely long wait. Three hours with only one person in waiting room when I arrived. Then, staff didn't know an anti inflammatory from an antibiotic. When I tried to explain that Torodol was not an antibiotic, the girl took both shots I'd been prescribed out of the room said "ok, so you don't want these." & hurried out, leaving me sitting there. I walked out of the room after about 10 min & two girls were sitting behind the front desk talking. She saw me & handed me papers saying "here are your discharge papers" I did manage to get them to call in an antibiotic for my sinus infection, but it was not my first choice. This was far beyond way too much effort to get an antibiotic. The provider seemed more competent, but the staff needs to learn the names of the drugs being prescribed. read more

Went in to get a abscess removed and they had a physician student to do the I&D and she cut way too much than she should. Didn't even give me enough numbing medicine so I still felt it. Will never go there again. read more

Lady assisting clients at the front desk needs to learn how to use the words "Please and Thank You." A smile goes a long way. No matter what issues you are having with your computer or log on the clients waiting shouldn't know it. Also 8 o'clock means 8 o'clock not 5 minutes after. Terrible! My complaint is for the administrative staff. My husband went to this clinic while in North Carolina a week ago (we live in NY). This week he went for follow up with a doctor here in NY, we have been trying to get a copy of the blood test results sent to our doctor here so that he can continue receiving proper treatment. It has been 3 days that we have had to make numerous calls, they give all the excuses in the book to not send them. Our doctor has also made attempts to get them and even she is put on hold for 20+ minutes. We filled out several release forms from and to FastMed and still nothing. This is very frustrating, especially when my husband has a serious medical condition. I hope corporate is able to take care of this problem today as we have already contacted them. FastMed is compromising my husband's health by not taking 5 minutes to send a fax. I'm hoping I don't have to get an attorney involved. read more

These people are knuckleheads. I have a kidney transplant and the PA that I saw had no idea how that all worked total baboon. Then prescribed me antibiotics that were totally contra indicated for my situation. And to top it of 1 month later they just randomly charged my debit card an extra $15 for who knows what. Awful service idiot medical staff never even saw an MD there. DO NOT GO IN TO THIS PLACE. If you do your putting your health in the wrong hands. read more

I don't know what you would originally expect from a Fast Med Urgent Care. I would expect a quick and easy service that allows me to continue my day. You would think that any person with a job or plans later in the day would be able to accomplish them once a quick and easy service is acquired. You would like to enjoy an evening with a loved one, or be on time to a family dinner. Unfortunately, I've have never waited so long in my life for anything. I understand the need for an accurate service. I do not understand the excuse of a slow and incompetent service. This establishment closes at 4 PM. I arrived at 3:30 expecting a 10 min wait because of prior customers. The issue with that is, there was no other customer in front of me. The amount of waiting is comparable to turtles giving birth. Except the turtles actually give birth and do their job. They don't take their entire lifetime to put a check mark in a box. The indecency of how long the wait was, which was close to 2 hours, caused me to miss a family dinner. I know that it may sound selfish, but there has got to be at least one other person who has something to do that was never accomplished because of things like this. I will never attend such an establishment again. There is no reason to. They might still be working with the person right behind me in line for the next 4 years. read more

We went to this Fastmed to have xrays taken of a joint on my son that was injured several days earlier and still causing significant pain.The front desk staff as well as the nurse aid were extremely pleasant and welcoming. My son and I were immediately checked in and vitals taken quickly. Our appointment turned downhill when the PA came in. I don't recall his name, heavier set gentleman with a loud demeanor. Before I continue, let me share that my son is young (early elementary age), has significant health issues (which we typically drive to UNC-CH for), he has had more medical procedures done and spent more time in and out of hospitals than your average adult. In an effort to avoid their ER and save on time we decided to come to fastmed. The PA insisted and was flat out rude about needing to move around the my sons joint to check for damaged ligaments, while I understand the need to check for this, that was not what we were there for. The last thing I am going to allow is for someone who does not have any bedside manor start moving around his joint which is already very painful. Given his symptoms, and lack of swelling we were more concerned about a fracture. The PA then told me that I was wasting my time and we may as well leave. I looked at my son and said 'ok, we'll go ahead and head up to UNC then' and started to get up. The PA very quickly backpedaled and then told us to sit and think about it and left the room for a minute. He returned and we told him we still just wanted the X-ray. The X-ray showed a possible injury with the growth plate due to the fall. All of our follow up care will absolutely be done with UNC. This PA has 0 ability to talk to/relate to children who are nervous and in pain, above all else I will not condone someone to bully myself and my child into tests/exams we did not want. read more

Don't go. They are mostly rude and incompetent . If they forget to do something like send a prescription over to your pharmacy , you have to wait more than 48 hours to get them to fix it . I've been going there for years because I am close, always hoping they will get better but they never do . read more

Fastmed urgent care has its ups and downs. If you schedule your appointment early online I have had my wait as little as 5 minutes. But without a scheduled appointment, I have waited for an hour and a half. Being in the waiting room is generally longer than being helped The staff is very friendly and helpful. The results are reliable and they have helped me many times. read more

I am a current patient at Fast Med on HWY 42 the staff are always super nice and very friendly everyone does their job well. My PA there Taylor is great she always finds the time in her busy schedule to answer my questions and take care of me she is a real asset to them and me. read more

My wife and I woke our daughter up this morning and she had what looked like a tick attached behind her ear my wife took her to Fast med they didn't open until 5 minutes after the sign said they opened and then told my wife she had to take her to the pediatrician without even looking to see what was wrong.. I went to Fastmed in Garner, NC after incurring shoulder injury at work. As time passed it felt worse and hindered almost anything I did from driving to standing up straight, to sleeping. I believe an apprentice saw me who was nice and professional. He made me do movements with my shoulder, took x-rays, and the doctor then came in and touched my shoulder for about 2 seconds and left. I then was prescribed Motrin and a muscle relaxer. I gave the Motrin and muscle relaxer a shot for two days and still was in a lot of pain. When I called in to tell them that, they said they could do nothing more for me!!! I also was about out of anxiety and depression medication (one of which is an anti-psychotic) and they refused to prescribe me a refill or at least enough to get through the week until I could see a psychiatrist. I will never go here again!!! In my opinion they just want to take money from insurance companies and not help patients!!! And to the doctor that visited for all of 30 seconds...YOU ARE NOT THE FEMALE "HOUSE"!!! And everyone is not a drug addict or junkie!!! I feel this establishment has below poor service, and if you have anything more than what an aspirin and a shot of whiskey can't fix......go somewhere else. If I could give negative star I would! I got bit by a copperhead snake on my foot and drove to Fast med. Went in and informed receptionist that I had been bitten she then proceeded to give me paperwork to fill out. about 10-12 min passed and then another girl came out to get my ID and insurance card. After a few more minutes I had completed my forms (by this time I was very swollen) When I took them the completed forms they informed me that they did not treat venomous snake bites and that they had called an ambulance for me. At the time the paramedics arrived, a nurse ran out real quick and wanted to get my blood pressure as I was being led out the door by ems. A couple weeks later I receive a bill for my $50.00 copay and A eob for the amount they charged my ins co. $397.00 lol for " office/outpatient visit". Now they will not return my call after multiple messages I have left them to inform them that not only am I not paying the copay, but I am also filing a complaint with the state medical board, the bbb, and I will be working with my insurance co to aid them in pursuing a insurance fraud case. Im new to NC...need a new family dr so I Called in with several questions regarding whether their office could treat a chronic illness I have. They lady on the phone said they could absolutely treat me and was so sweet, answered all my questions and advised me to be seen at the urgent care for my needs since the family practice waiting time was two weeks and I couldn't wait that long. I took her advice, showed up. Saw a PA who took care of one problem but was very cold toward the other issue I needed to be seen for. I felt as if I was being judged. He refused to help me and acted as if he didn't care and didn't take the time to even listen to me.then when I walked out of the exam room I saw him whispering to another doctor then they both looked up at me and got quiet. ( Deer in the headlights look on his face)I didn't hear what was said but felt as though I was being talked about. I don't have insurance and cant afford another visit and cant wait another two weeks to be seen. I was really disappointed with this experience seeing as I followed directions from someone in that office! read more

I was seen at the FastMed Urgent Care off NC 42 located in Garner N.C. When i first walked in the door there was a brunette associate sitting at the front desk texting away on her phone. She appeared to be on the job training. She was not giving any patients attention or her trainer. When I was seen by Saige C. PA. She was rude. I requested for specific labs. I asked her how long would it take for them to come back. She didn't know. She left the room to find out. When she returned I asked her if the labs were a separate billing. She didn't know. I said if it is i will see my doctor next week and i won't have to pay separate. She was walking out the door and stated if i didnt do labs she would have me sign AMA. (against medical advice). It's not against medical advice. I requested the labs. She never gave me advice to have labs drawn. I gave her a complete history. I try not to tangle with other healthcare professionals. I told her I'm a nurse and i know what i need to properly diagnose my condition. I had mention i went to another location and they tried to charge me more. She stated that i was been undercharged. We had words and then she said "I don't care billing is in charge of that". I'm here to be evaluated for my condition not to talk about billing. A man associate came into the room to retake my blood pressure. He asked me if i wanted a copy of my clinical note. I said, yes. He then asked, Saige the PA if i could get a copy. She yells down the hall." No, i can't do it I have a lot of patients to see.". The young lady at the desk with the glasses was the most professional person and the gentleman who was the clinic manager. I have been here before and the staff was good. But, this PA had a chip on her shoulder. I am very knowledgeable about my condition. I realize in nursing that a lot of patients are knowledgeable about their conditions and we as healthcare providers can learn a lot from our patients. read more
