Many times other tournaments need to use multiple venues to host an event. I've been down to work several tournaments. There are hotels and restaurants nearby. And if the significant other wants to come down, the hopping outlets are pretty close, too, so they can be entertained. We've also always been in the late fall, so it hasn't been conducive to the beach, but it isn't terribly far either.

Outside there's something for everyone--yard games, a foam party for the kids, bungee-style trampolines, beach access, and plenty of places to hang out (pun absolutely intended). I can only imagine how much fun this place is at night with live music. The nachos were piled ridiculously high and disappeared much faster than they should have. Service was upbeat, attentive, and clearly focused on making sure everyone was having a good time. Don't skip the gift shop either. We left with a couple of super cute T-shirts and can koozies to remember the trip. The Hangout isn't just somewhere to eat--it's somewhere to make vacation memories. I'd happily come back.

Today, members of the SBCT group come from all walks of life in this community setting in an environment for actors, musicians children, young adults, and many volunteers. These fine folks combine their talents to bring a piece of the performing arts to the greater Baldwin County area on the Alabama Gulf Coast. With the support of this entire community, they bring the dramatic arts alive to everyone. Our recent visit was for the Wingbeat Christmas Spectacular and the production was outstanding which seems to be the norm here. It's a retail store with the paint party inside the same building. So of course, all the kids want to look around and touch all the items on display in the retail store before the paint party because it's the first thing you see when you walk in. Anytime the kids touched anything you could not only see and feel her frustration, but she would tell them to put the stuff down and stay in their seats. The helpers tried to make the kids time enjoyable as much as they could and a lot of thanks to them! Do not think you should advertise or welcome birthday parties into your business if you can't handle the kids. This lady COULD. NOT. Have you ever been to a birthday party where the children couldn't really get out of their seats or touch anything? Yeah, this was my first time too. Craziness. The kids did however enjoy the actual painting of their canvas but that was because only the helpers were around and did an excellent job with the kids. We will NOT be back!
