First time visit. I had the burger after reading some reviews. Burger was good and cooked well. Onion rings were standard frozen fare. All drinks are fountain or bottles, even the tea. There is a large bar area and seemed well stocked. Service was not unfriendly but definitely more on the ambivalent side of things. Almost felt like I was bothering them to order. I dined in but after waiting for my order at a table with an assigned order #holder. When the order was ready, a lady just dropped off the bag with food prepared to go left the table number on the table and just walked away. Maybe they just cater to regulars. I had a cheeseburger onion rings and a bottle of tea. Including a 20% tip it was right at $20. I didn't really feel welcome and won't return. read more

This is the best locally owned restaurant in Youngsville, I have been coming here for years, with Tally Ho stables, Chip the owner prepares all the crawfish, the food is amazing and tastes like nothing else you have experienced. Decided to stop by this place on a whim and it was a pretty welcome surprise. A nice old fashioned bar with some really good food. I got a burger and my wife got a shrimp poboy; both were great and filling. It's pretty much summed up as great food with great prices and great service in a local watering hole. I think the only negatives were that the food didn't really blow us away, which is not a big deal, and that the music being played in the room over was quite loud. It was cool that they had someone performing but it was just too loud for us and was still pretty present in the dining area with the kitchen. read more

I came here for lunch during work. The place is your traditional Louisiana restaurant to be get some crawfish. It's what you would see in a movie or add! Pathetic. I only gave this place one star because zero isn't an option on Yelp. We ordered on Waiter, food arrived on time (only positive thing I can say). We ordered the queso cheese sticks (picture attached) all of which were empty... no queso. Clearly something that is frozen and dumped into the fryer. Also, none of the meals came with fries!!! Not even the kids meal that is pictured with fries on the menu!! When I called back to clarify that we weren't missing fries the woman was rude and acted like I was stupid for assuming that our meals would come with fries. We ordered 2 sandwiches and a kids meal, spent $51.47 and still had to throw fries in the oven to go with the meals! Don't waste your money!!! read more

Just did the drive thru at Morvant's Youngsville. The loaded hot dog ($2.75) was very good. Next time I will ask them to hold the jalapeno peppers & purple onions. The link of homemade boudin ($2.25) was good with a traditional hint of liver taste. I will get both again. Years ago I had to stop eating here because the food was too peppered. Just FYI, I love pepper, but it no longer loves me (too much Tabasco growing up). I was pleasantly surprised that both the hotdog & boudin were seasoned with MILD pepper, perfect for me. Now I'll have to try the hamburger again. Beware: Prices on the online menu have not been updated. Long wait times. I waited over 30 minutes for 1 hotdog & 1 link of boudin. It was 11:30am, but there wasn't many customers judging by the cars in the parking lot. This is GOOD food, not Fast food! read more

I used to go to morvant's when in the bad when I was in school. The absolute best. But after a few places they now are in broussard, LA. The little house gives a home feeling but in the back goes to a bar feeling. Not sure how it gets after 5pm. Meani g don't know how it is for kids. But they also have a separate building that I believe you can eat in there as well. But the burgers aren't what they used to be. Still has the flavor but the meat has shrunk. and it has become chewy. Not sure what happened but even my little boy said it. The meat seems over cooked and chewy. I missed the burgers back in the day and hoped to be taken back down memory lane but all in all... I'm taking freddys burgers over morvant's. read more

Friends who have a camp near Morgan City took us here for an evening of fine dining (boiled crawfish) and entertainment (a trio who sang for four hours without a break), and this was one of the best evenings we've ever had. This place is nothing fancy, but it's our understanding it's been here for nearly 100 years. They normally serve burgers, etc., but on a recent Saturday night, your choice was crawfish cooked regular or spicy, 3 lbs. for $30 or 5 lbs for $45. All sorts of American beers, but the only import was Heineken's. The crowd acted as though everyone was part of one big family, and we felt like the Texas contingent. Crawfish were outstanding, although I'd have preferred more than one short corn cob in a 5# tray. The band was simply outstanding, playing everything from doo-wop to Cajun to Zydeco to C&W, and the dance floor was never not packed. If you're ever near Lafayette, make a trip to Youngville to Morvant's for dinner and an evening of fun! read more

I live literally about 40 feet away from this place but have only been a handful of times. Reason #1 My husband and I are vegetarian. That makes enjoying a primarily burger joint a bit hard. Reason #2 My husband doesn't drink and makes going to bar a bit well, pointless. Unlike him, I do eat crawfish. I've been here a few times during crawfish season to indulge in a few 5lbs trays of bugs. And good bugs they are. They have the standard fare for beer, coors, bud, miller...but no abita. Had the hamburger steak to go. Somewhat spicy and salty, with grilled onions. Salt and spice is typical cajun fare. Got a to go order and somehow they left off my french fries. But I was so stuffed from my steak which was two giant hand made burgers I just did not care. Might have liked some mashed and gravy but don't think that was an option. Funky divey place. Band and dance floor in part, loaded with people eating drinking and having a great time. Food is ordered at a counter. They give you a number on a stand and bring your food. you take your stand, find a table, and they find you when your food is ready. If you ordered to go, your food will be bagged. Great Cajun place, locals no tourists. The real deal. Food came out pretty quick considering how big this place was with the front and back of the house, and how many people inside, and the big line waiting to order. I checked it out the other day after it was recommended to me by a self-described "burger nut". I found the women who work there very friendly and eager to please. My cheeseburger was very good...I'd recommend it to folks who like spicy...but not overwhelmingly spicy... burgers. I was disappointed to find that the only unsweet tea available was in a bottle, but my server cheerfully brought me lemon and artificial sweetener to make it (barely) palatable.
