Decided to try out a new breakfast place (Liz's and Crazy Pig are my usual breakfast joints). I was greeted and seated promptly. Then it took about 15 minutes for a waitress to come on over. Seems like they didn't know who had my table. No worries... I wasn't in a hurry. I ordered the eggs Florentine with potatoes and English muffins. Overall, pretty good. Loved the grilled English muffins and potatoes. The spinach topping to the eggs was a little heavy, but ok. Wouldn't order that item again. I probably won't be adding this to my usual places, but it's fun to try something new. read more

Whoa! These folks have the best darn grits I've ever had! They are creamy and smooth and such a treat. Every staff member is extremely warm and very attentive. I'm a sucker for customer service. First please know that I love breakfast diners and that was what I was in the mood for. The pluses are that the food was good and the menu plentiful. The minuses were speed of service and accuracy. Generally a square open space simple place. Looks clean at first - the bathrooms are however not. Think truck stop massacre. That to me is never a good sign. The service up front was good. The hostess pointed to the table of the full place and said go sit over there. The waitress took or order... And then the wait began. It lasted. When you thought it was over it continued. Until it was time then we waited more. So then the food arrived to the table next to ours. Anyway fast forward. Our food hit the table like a bullet. The over caffeinated waitress decided it was time to make up time by making me rush through the arrival of plates. Mine was accurate my wife's was missing the cheese. Not enough to complain but enough to be meh. The coffee supped up waitress came back and a direct quote without a breath between syllables was "everythingokgoodhappytohearbye" Bill came. 26 for two. I really wish I would have realized this was just another location of The Fat Spoon on Hwy 59 in Mandeville. I'm not a fan. This place is Expensive and the food is not great. My breakfast consisted of 2 eggs, sausage, potatoes, a biscuit and a side of gravy. I ordered the eggs over medium. What I got were eggs that were not even over easy. They were not cooked all the way and the whites were runny. Gross. The biscuit was cold, the gravy was also cold and did not taste that great. Plus they don't give you enough to cover your biscuit. The potatoes were ok but I prefer hash browns which you can't get here. My breakfast was over $10.00. That's 2 eggs, sausage, potatoes, a biscuit and side of gravy. I drank water. A coke would have been another $1.99. I could have gotten the sampler at IHOP that comes with 2 eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns and a stack of pancakes for $8.99 which is what I will do from now on. They have great breakfast items. Haven't eaten anything on the breakfast menu I didn't enjoy yet. My son loves the beignet sticks. However, the burger I had today, not so much. I felt it was very under seasoned, and tasted more like meatloaf than burger. The staff is very friendly and the dinning area feels comfortably open. So for breakfast, thumbs up. Food is regular uninspired options that taste very pre made, probably lost things are from Cisco food services, pre prepared and ok but not great. This is such an adorable little diner! We went this morning, so luckily it wasn't busy at all. Jessie brought us our coffee and stopped by to say hi, but our waitress was Christy. She rocks. She was super friendly and attentive while not breathing down our necks the whole time we ate. OUR FOOD WAS SO GOOD! We were out running errands and decided to stop in for a late lunch. What a nice surprise!! Don't let the non-descript exterior fool you. The interior is nicely redone with stainless steel tabletops and comfortable chairs, flooring and light fixtures are great looking too The shrimp po-boy was amazing. Way too large For me. So I brought half home. The shrimp were nicely hand dipped before frying and the French bread was a bit like a sour dough bread, and toasted and very crunchy and great as a po-boy. My husband, who grew up on the east coast, had a very authentic and delicious Ruben. He said it was like one in a NYC deli---heavy on corned beef. My side salad had delicious homemade dressing. My husband's extra large portion of French fries were calling my name. So I had a few. They were hand cut and very crispy. Great! Second time I've been and I have no complaints. Breakfast and lunch are amazing. First time I had a fried shrimp plate with fries. The shrimp are HUGE and so good. My fiancé had breakfast. And his also was really good. I can't wait to see what's on the dinner menu when they open on Friday and Saturday. Definitely a better choice for breakfast if you are looking for something that is awesome and filling. Had a shrimp Caesar the second time and I have to say that I'm beyond full. I'm going to come back to try their breakfast sometime, but today, I had a cheeseburger. Now, I realize you can get a cheeseburger anywhere, but, I could tell that the burger patty was handmade from seasoned ground beef-- it was NOT a frozen pre-made patty. And I could also tell that the bun was very fresh, and possibly homemade. The sauteed mushrooms on the burger were obviously fresh. My server was sweet and pleasant. Next time I will try the breakfast. Another reviewer commented that he could have gone to IHOP and got a cheaper breakfast... well probably, but it's IHOP! You get what you pay for! read more

Great experience! The first impression from the outside is "ew"... as it is in an old Pizza Hut building. Once I stepped into the restaurant, there is nothing but good to say. Been there for lunch first, got a burger with sweet fries. Was okay. Nothing special. I heard the veggie sandwich was bomb, I would try that next time. Went for breakfast like six times and I ALWAYS get the wheat texas toast and grits. Like legit so delicious. I never usually like grits from a restaurant, but it was yummy and didn't need anything to be added. The toast though. Best bread ever. SO much better than the white texas toast.
