Fat Straws is my favorite tapioca place!! I always get milk tea or any of the green teas! but other drinks are good as well...

I've only tried two different things here: milk tea and passion fruit slushee. Consistent. Service is great. That's really all I ask for. Maybe one day I will be adventurous and try something else. read more

I usually get the classic milk tea, thai tea, or just black tea w/ some type of flavoring (peach/mango/etc). Nothing that makes it shine above all other boba places except that its pearls are chewy and consistent (this really makes or breaks a drink imo). read more

Being from the valley in CA, I have had my share of boba or bubble drinks. The pro's of Fat Straws are the service. The kid at the register was nice and he hauled rear end the entire time. Takes your order, takes payment, gives change, then goes and fills cups with bubbles and ice. The rest of the staff really moves back there and the wait for drinks is really short. The not so goods. They put a lot...L O T of bubbles/boba in their drinks. Almost 1/3 of my drink was the bubbles. This could be a Texas thing, and if so I apologize for being critical. Its just not what I am used to at places local to me. I ordered the choconana drink which was pretty good but not really sweet. Overall its good, and I would go back to try a few more of their tasty sounding drink options. The menu is big and I would like to try again to see if there is something even tastier. read more

Went to Fat Straws for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed their Peach Jasmine Tea (w/strawberry jelly) drink! The drink was really refreshing and great if you're craving something sweet. The drinks at Fat Straws are priced from $3-5 depending on what you order/add. The store is very nice, however, it is small and can get over crowded very quickly. I've been here a few times. I've gotten the chocolate banana smoothie and milk tea with boba. I found that everything was just kind of bland. The bobas were subpar. This is more of a smoothie shop than a tea shop. I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a Taiwanese-style tea shop. There are better in the area. read more

So refreshing! The variety of teas, smoothies and slushies and is incredible. You can choose the kind of bubbles and jellies you want although I just like mine plain.customer service is excellent! Always greeted with a smile. They make them in a minute while you move to the next counter. I do wish they had more space as it is getting more popular day by day. I love fat straws! read more

I've been a fan of Fat Straws for many years. My friends and I use to go here religiously when they first opened. We would sit for hours drinking boba and playing UNO. Haha I miss those days! Then we all moved around the metroplex. My recent visit here during my lunch break was great. Ordered my drink and got it right away and tasted great. I usually get their Mango Peach Slushie with half mix fruit jelly and half boba! Its just enough and it's Good stuff! There have been a time or two that I got a smoothie instead of a slushie. Its okay tastes just as good. I have tried their Thai Tea it's a hit and miss sometimes too sweet or not sweet enough. Green tea is tasty too! The biggest irritant is the menu. It isn't totally clear what everything IS, especially if you're not familiar with Asian sweet drinks. Of course there's not exactly a ton of room on there to explain, but maybe they could have some laminated menus with descriptions? I'd ask the cashier but they're always so busy! Secondly- really wish they had the same menu as the Dallas location. I am in between the two and adore the Matcha Green Milk Tea, but it is not a menu item here. They can make it, but they always mess it up first (usually give me Jasmine Milk Tea, which is... really weak and just tastes like milk!). (EDIT: I recently discovered Sencha Green Tea with milk tastes nearly identical, so that saves me the hassle of special ordering. Yes! ) Their boba is always good. I've never had soggy or overcooked boba here. Fat Straws is CONSISTENT, which makes it stand out in the Boba scene. Mom and Pop stores tend to vary depending on what 16 yo made the batch that day. read more

My favorite Boba Tea spot ever! My daughter is completely obsessed with the honeydew Boba tea here! She tries to make me go almost everyday. They have a lot of options to choose from from smoothies, milk tea, regular tea based, even aguas frescas style drinks! You can even sit and play a game of Jenga or chess while you sip. This place is always fast and good! I get the white peach tea without the boba because I'm weird and picky. But the tea is soooo good I love it. My boyfriend always gets honeydew with boba cause that's his favorite and he says it's delicious every time! I've always been a fan of fat straws and their garden of eden tea. Unfortunately, the past couple of times I've been there has been a let down. The teas don't have any flavor...tastes like sugar water. I know businesses are struggling during this pandemic and I'm trying to support them but it's hard when there are other options. Fat straws drink quality has gone down hill since they first opened up a while back... now I feel as though their drinks are not wowing as they used to be but just manageable. I got the two in one fat straw drink-coconut milk tea with bubbles(which was good!) and classic milk tea just okay) the teas honestly are nothing to write home about because These drink was all premade so it just isn't as classic as other place..but the concept behind the drink is pretty cool! I found this boba tea place when I first moved to Texas. I've had boba tea in Oklahoma that was amazing. (Yes, Oklahoma. I know.) I was excited to be find this place and ordered two teas when I first went. I've been many times in the past year and a half because it was the closest boba tea to me. The Thai tea is great, but the rest is a bit...organic. They have many types of tea, but to me it's a bit too organic/natural. It doesn't taste sweet enough for me. I love Fat Straws! It is definitely the best bubble tea - dare I say it- in THE WORLD! There is an option for just about anyone! Smoothies, milkshakes, slushes for a satisfying dessert OR extremely good quality, refreshing, tea! Dallas doesn't have many unique places, but Fat Straws is definitely a gem! (The North Dallas location too.) Ask for a sample of the bubbles- if you don't like them, you don't have to get them. I love this quaint little place in Plano. Do they have the best boba smoothies? Maybe. I'm not the kind of person that has a "usual". I have been to this particular Fat Straws numerous time, and almost every time I get something new. I have tried 75% of all the drinks they offer. My favorites are always the freshly brewed teas and the avocado slush with mixed fruit. I gave it four stars because in comparison to other places, it is a bit on the pricey side although it is worth it for its consistency. More than half of the drinks I tried were pretty good and others were just "Ehh". I've been to other places and their stuff has been great, but many times it is either a hit or miss depending on the person making it. Overall, you will get your money's worth at Fat Straws. Well this place is too small and the people working there are not friendly. The drinks are ok, duh...it does not take a chemist to make them. I look for a nice spacious place to hang out while sipping on my favorite drinks. FAT STRAW does not do achieve that, at least for me. It could be a good take out place...but for the money spent, I would rather stay for 45 minutes to 1 hour in a nice atmosphere...I could not find that there... read more

Conveniently located across my workplace, so I frequently stop by. The employees are always courteous and quick about getting the drinks out. I love this place!!! Been going for years! The people are so friendly! And they're mochi donuts are the best, my hands down favorite dessert. They make their mango and green tea drinks correctly. Fatstraw is a cute and trendy spot for boba. They have a unique selection of teas that are all worth trying. I personally really liked the garden of eden. The shop is small, so there's not much room if you want to sit down and talk with some friend. It's also difficult more often than not to find a parking spot, although I'm sure that's not something that the shop can help. All in all it's a nice place to grab a quick drink. read more

i have no idea why this place is bumpity bumpin all the time. -the menu is extremely limited. -they call the tapioca balls "bubbles"... which only perpetuates the misconception that the drink is called "bubble tea" b/c of these tapioca balls. -they don't have many add-in options. -their milk tea is pretty average but they whip it out pretty quickly. then i got to thinking: maybe it's busy b/c it's the only bubble tea in the area so everyone is forced to believe it's good. i feel sorry for you. read more

Realized I never Yelped this location, since the Galleria location is my favorite. But, any time I was in the area I stop in here. The drinks are still very delicious, but there's just not as much atmosphere and seating at this location. But, the staff is always friendly and the pics on the wall of regulars is cute!
