Their bobas are always consistently good with the right amount of chewiness and their sweetness of drinks are always consistent and perfect as well. Their service is very quick and you can even get samples of their teas. The only downside is that their tea is watery.. I wish they would brew their tea a little stronger, and everything would be perfect. However their smoothies taste fresh and is very good. I recommend their avocado smoothie! read more

Stopped by here after work and got the milk tea with tapioca pearls. Delicious milk tea, but too much pearls. I hate when I'm done with my drink and there's still a lot of pearls left. It's like I'm fighting with the ice cubes trying to get to the balls (No Homo). The pearls tasted okay even though it wasn't as soft as I like them. Besides that, I'll ask for less tapioca pearls or balls next time I'm here. If I'm strictly getting just milk tea, I'd probably go to Tapioca Express across the street since I think their milk tea taste better including the tapioca pearls. If you're a regular bubble tea drinker like myself, the minute you first take a sip of the drink here it's like instant regret. I have given this place numerous tries and each time I leave disappointed and unsatisfied. The fusion tea lacks flavor and the milk teas are way too liquidity. Huge fan of Fat Straws! It is funny, because I never really liked the jelly bubbles, but for some reason I really like them here. What I almost always order is the avocado + banana smoothie with bubbles and it sure is filling. They are always SO quick and it really fills me up. I would definitely recommend it! read more

I'm a pretty big boba fan, but I wasn't too big of a fan of this place. Service is great, but I just don't quite like their drinks. Their milk tea has been inconsistent the several times I've been there. It's either been too sweet or not sweet enough even though I've ordered it the same way every time. Now I haven't tried their other drinks, but maybe that's the way to go. I'm sure I'll be back eventually to try them out, but for now, Fat Straws isn't too high on my list of boba places. read more

Fat Straws is my go-to place for a great fresh-brewed tea. I'm here at least once weekly to have a blueberry pomegranate unsweetened tea with fruit jelly. It's great for a hot summer day, or even saved for later in the fridge. Their classic bubble milk tea is also yummy. I'm disappointed they don't have grass jelly though. read more

I just need to put this out there. I love Fat Straws. Whenever I get classic milk tea from other bubble tea shops, I am always severely disappointed. I always find myself comparing their milk tea and their bubbles to Fat Straws'. There is no doubt in my mind that Fat Straws' bubbles are among the best you can find anywhere. They have the perfect amount of sweetness on the outside and chewiness on the inside. I think that anyone interested in opening a boba shop needs to try Fat Straws boba; if their boba fall short of the boba at Fat Straws, then they need to seriously reconsider their venture. To make this place even more perfect, the staff is nice, professional, and efficient. Expect to spend minimal time ordering and waiting for your drink to be ready. read more

Love their boba. I usually judge a boba place 1) boba- chewy/soft/hard 2) jasmine green tea. They use art of tea, and it's does have that taste that I love. Somedays it can be watered down depending on maybe who brewed it? The boba for the most part has been consistent. I love love love fat straws. I'm probably biased since I've been going there for years. Still, I love the chewy boba (generous portions) and the classic milk tea. It's difficult to describe my devotion to the classic.... Initially, I tried to deviate and live a little more on the edge... getting the avocado smoothies and mango orange and such. They were delicious (a tad too sweet for my taste), but I always go back to the classic. It's just sweet enough for my liking, and creamy enough to keep me coming back again and again. If you're looking for something stronger, the Vietnamese coffee hits the spot. The Thai tea is also unique, although I think it's a bit better when it's watered down with black tea to make it less sweet. Service is always fast, although sometimes the line can extend out the door on some hot summer days. I wish there was more seating inside, given that there are just a few tables. This time I went, they had removed the outdoor seating, although I'm not sure why. It may be due to the heat, but in past years that has never hindered folks from enjoying some sun. All in all, great boba place for drinks, but the ambiance and space doesn't allow for prolonged lingering. read more

Prior to my visit this past Saturday, I hadn't been back to Fat Straws in Plano since 2006 !!!--due to moving to California etc. But I came back last weekend, this time taking my hubby, and I'm still just as impressed as EVER! One of the best, if not the best bubble tea i've ever had. Addicting and extremely refreshing on a hot day. My favorites are the mango tea or mango slush but there's a different flavor for everyone. My favorite bubble tea place in Dallas! Their pearls are always chewy and delicious! I usually order the tea of the day, but other favorites include taro and thai milk tea. The coconut milk tea was wonderful and the boba are outstanding at FS. The place was packed with the after-school crowd and the tiny store was extremely cramped. We were shoulder to shoulder with strangers while waiting for our drinks. I do love their marketing concept, packaging, etc. Other than the cramped space (would have rather it been a drive through), I'm not giving it 5 stars because they don't carry popping boba.
