This casual location with indoor & outdoor seating is in the same shopping plaza as Dollar Tree and Stater Bros. Great salsa rojo as well. Lots of great options on the menu including Birria ramen, street tacos, quesadillas & more. They also have branded beer. Clean restroom & plenty of parking in the huge parking lot. Stopped here on the drive home from Mammoth with very low expectations and very high hunger, which is honestly the ideal way to discover a place like this. Fatboys Taco sits in what feels like a former gas stop area in Mojave, but it is its own thing, attached to a bar and far better than anything you would expect from a highway pit stop zone. Inside, there are bold murals on the walls that give the place real personality and make it feel intentional rather than accidental. I ordered two birria queso tacos and they were legit. Crispy, cheesy, rich, and gloriously messy in the way birria tacos are supposed to be. The kind of tacos that make you temporarily forget you still have hours of driving ahead of you. This is officially on my mental list of places worth pulling off the highway for. I will absolutely be back the next time I am coming home from Mammoth, even if I am not that hungry. read more

It's pretty much a taco version of their burrito with a char grilled Anaheim chili, and it was my favorite bite with all the different flavors and textures. Needed a lunch stop while charging our car in the same shopping center. This is pretty much the only food option besides the grocery store. Upon entering, this place is simple and your typical taqueria. We arrived luckily before the busy lunch crowd. The menu is simple and displayed on a screen sitting atop the front counter. There also is a board with all the meat options. Most I required translation from the cashier who also needed to reference a cheat sheet herself! Im assuming this was pretty authentic as the meats included very exotic items such as cow tongue, cow stomach, pork stomach, pork skin, and many others i quickly dismissed. Once we placed our order we were given a table top number with stand to bring to our table. There is plenty of indoor dining. It didn't take too long for our 4 orders to arrive. The quessadillas were smaller than other taquerias I've been to, but the $6 price tag reflects such. It was a bit on the greasy side as shown in the photos. The Keto Tacos that come with two fried flattened melted cheese topped with meet, more cheese and diced onions. This definitely is not adequate to serve as an entree. The asada burrito was nothing spectacular and disappointingly was missing sour cream. All in all, this is an acceptable stop.given the limited choices in the middle of the desert. My daughter ate just a cheese quesadilla and she enjoyed it more than usual! It was so cheesy. Staff was gracious, friendly and welcoming! Also their Carne Asada and their Al Pastor is fabulous. The cheese they use is top notch and flavorful. The chef ensures that everything is made to your liking. Very clean and tidy, and food comes up quickly if you're in a hurry, traveling through the desert going either north or south. My husband and I stopped here while charging our car. I got the Chile Anaheim Taco with Carnitas and a chicken taco. My husband got the Carne Asada Burrito. Everything was SO flavorful and delicious. I was really excited to hear they were coming to Mojave, which was a close drive for me! I ordered some Al pastor tacos, a birria TNT and 1 quesa-birria taco with consome. It wasn't as good as all the other times I used to eat here, not sure if it was a bad day to come in, or a different cook, but it didn't have as much flavor as I remember.
