Our friend that lives up on the mountain recommended this restaurant to us. We enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was cool being able to watch the planes come and go. The gal that waited on us was very helpful kind and sweet. The issue was that when we were there for lunch, they were out of ice. They were also out of chili, but that is excusable. There are plenty of places nearby, even the gas stations, that sell ice. That issue could've easily been remedied. read more

The only con was that it was a little difficult to find. Voyager is an aviation themed cafe overlooking the runways and under the tower. We met two pilots there having lunch and watched both fly out..so fun! The service was exceptional with our server being very informative a d helping us with our selection. The cook came out to make sure all was fine. We had a Ruben and fries . The Ruben was very lean and fries were extra done, just as requested. Also half sandwich and o onion rings with beverage. $13 50. Perfect amount of food. Both sandwiches were delicious. We will return. read more

I'm local to Mojave and decided to try the breakfast at the Voyager Restaurant. I arrived 45 minutes before their breakfast cutoff time and was informed they were not serving breakfast. I sat in a booth for several minutes, and when my order was finally taken, I settled for the patty melt. I didn't even drink the coffee ordered before I was informed there was no breakfast. The service and food were alright. However, the whole no breakfast issue tainted my opinion. For a first (and last) time customer, the overall experience was disappointing. read more

Kudos to the staff at this very friendly restaurant located on the flight line at Mojave Air and Space Port. Kudos also to @outsidethecockpit for recommending this place. Sandra our server brought coffee apologizing up front saying she was brewing a fresh pot. Both cups were great. The extensive breakfast menu contained aviation themed items (like the FOD omelette). We ordered the Perfect Landing Breakfast and Cactus Scramble. Both delicious. The place was bright and cheery with picture windows onto the flight line and a huge wall map of Rutan's epic round the world flight. For a great breakfast on a trip to the Sierras, take a slight detour and stop at Voyager Restaurant. Say hi to Sandra and buy a hat! read more

I was in Mojave for work and of course turned to Yelp to find out where to eat. The Voyager doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you're inside it's filled with airplane/craft photos. It sits right on the airfield so you can see the plane bone yard and the planes that are being worked on. The staff was friendly. The food was good. It is a bit spends though. $18 for a wrap with curly fries. read more

WARNING: Food poisoning. I hate to leave this review, because we really wanted to like this place, but I do NOT recommend. See: food poisoning, bad service, blasé food. We chose Voyager Restaurant as a food stop on the last leg of a long and exhausting road trip. Things went... poorly. Food 0/5 stars: We both got the grilled chicken taco salad. After traveling a few hours to get home, we both barely made it through the door. Thank goodness we have two bathrooms. As far as taste goes, the shell was excellent, the salad fillings were below average. Fries too salty. Service 2/5 stars: Our server (female, blonde, long hair, glasses) was very rude to us, to the point of being passive aggressive. We felt unwelcomed, like our presence was annoying. Only positive is that she visited the table an appropriate amount. Also worth nothing that when we entered the restaurant, we were ignored by staff and had to ask about seating. Ambiance 4/5 stars: Neat aviation history adorns the restaurant walls, which We thought was really cool. Otherwise the interior is dated but fits the diner feel. read more

When the new Hwy 58 bypassed the town of Mojave, most of the good restaurants closed up. So I found and started coming here 7 years back. Good food, nice view of runway and mountain. There also can be a host of local airplanes enthusiasts talking it up. read more

The Voyager Restaurant is located at the Mojave Airport about 1 mile east of Highway 14 and well worth the escape from the main drag. Parking: Private Lot & street parking Environment: Quaint aero vibe bc of course this restaurant is in the airport. There is nice view of the airport landing strip but saw no airplanes in motion the morning we were there. Staff was professional & efficient. Christol was our server and I think it's save to say she is my new favorite person in Mojave! Food was excellent for the price & to my surprise had cactus/nopales on the menu! Had lunch here on our drive to SoCal from Mammoth. You wouldn't guess there was a restaurant out here, since it's a bit off the main road. It was a great place to stop. We had the Patty melt w side salad and Reuben with potato salad. The rye bread on both was terrific. The booths overlook the runway (no planes coming or going today), but also have a view of an airplane graveyard -- lots of planes of different airlines are parked. The server was attentive, and offered a refill of my drink to go (107° today). Skip the fast food and eat here! read more

Cool "hanger" restaurant on the Mojave flight line. Most customers work at the local airplane related business. Lots of airplane photos, drawings, and pictures of local heroes including flight test pilots and airplane designers. Good, reasonably priced, diner food. You never know what you might see fly by from historical Soviet fighter aircraft, strange new space ships , or another history making airplane design that no one else would think about but designers like Burt Rutan. If you are and airplane nerd, this is the restaurant for you. read more

Mojave can be a little sketchy, so we were happy to find this place! It's just a few minutes from the main road. When your GPS says "arrived," you may not see the restaurant (we didn't ), as it's tucked away on the left side of the building where the airport office is. We were greeted nicely and helped right away. The food portions were big AND delicious. It was also very reasonably priced. The decor is basic, the view of the airplanes and desert scenery is nice, and the place was clean. This will be the place I go every time I'm in the vicinity of Mojave, and I need a good breakfast or lunch! read more

Nah don't waste your time. Ordered two breakfast sandwiches two weeks in a row. Came out to $13 which is great. Typically cost on the east cost for a breakfast sandwich is $5-6 for a simple one. Went in this week and got charged $33 for two breakfast sandwiches. Absolutely absurd. Lady said they don't have breakfast sandwich and I'd be charged for a 2 egg breakfast plate. Who in their right mind thinks it's acceptable to charge $16 for a breakfast sandwich. Don't waste your time just keep driving. read more

So we were Staying at thousand trails Near Palmdale California. One of the campers told us about the aerospace stuff going out in Mojave so we decided to take a drive up and look. The kids are in civil air patrol and three of them have their student pilots licenses and they have a keen interest in anything to do with aerospace, astronauts, and just plain old flying. There is a nice old jet graveyard, however we were not allowed to go to it. Since there's a lot of research and development going on in Mojave, we kind of were not allowed to go into anywhere. At one point we saw a sign guests please check in building 210. So we went into the building and we were immediately met by some security guards, and some military personnel that were armed. We were informed that this place was off-limits LOL. We were escorted out. When I told them that sign said for visitors to check in, I was told that we were not that type a visitor. Lots of hush-hush stuff going on apparently. But the kids still had fun. The kids didn't get to see a model of space one. It was on display near some tesla charging stations. Just before leaving we found this café. It's kind of funny because above there is a model, above the door, saying Aviation spoke in here. It's quite funny since my kids are all in the Aviation area, there's a lot of Aviation spoken but I do not understand Unfortunately the café was closing when we went in, the waitress was extremely nice and allowed me to sit and have some water while cleaning up. I think it was about 110° outside. He also offered us a couple of large to go cups of water. A table next to me had some food and it looked really good, however I cannot comment on the deliciousness of it. I was able to get some pictures of the menu for any who are interested. The menu is aeronautically-inspired. If ever we are brought this way again, I will definitely visit this café and try to food. It would definitely be fun watching planes takeoff. read more

Aviation means great food, as pilots and lovers of airplanes know how to eat... Voyager Restaurant dishes up the kind of cuisine that keeps pilots, and lovers of great food, coming back for more. The dining room is quite spacious, and it looks out to the flight line of the Mojave California Airport, which not only hosts experimental aircraft and offers every aviation service you can imagine, but hosts one of the largest aviation "bone yards" in the United States. Voyager Restaurant has a window on all of the action. The breakfast menu featues everything a breakfast lover could of dream of. Breakfast is taken seriously at Voyager Restaurant, as breakfast is served any time the restaurant is open. Since today was my first visit to this fine restaurant, I went with the first choice on the breakfast menu, which happens to be called "The Nighthawk," which is a simple breakfast of two eggs, potatoes and toast. For starters, the eggs were perfectly cooked, over easy, which is my de facto style of choice for eggs. When I order eggs over easy, I use them as a bench mark to judge the skill of the chef. My eggs were cooked perfectly... The menu offers a choice between hash brown or country potatoes, and my friendly server, Krista, mentioned that Chef Ricky's potatoes are special, so I went with country potatoes - or as the menu calls them "home fries" - and I'm glad I did, as I was totally dazzled and amazed by the potatoes! The potatoes were cut into a variety of chuncks, from small to quite large, seasoned with the chef's secret seasoning, and fried to a golden brown on the outside, and a chewy goodness inside. I opted for the optional onion and pepper slices to complete the package. Krista was right about the potatoes, as they were some of the best fried potatoes that I've ever had the chance to enjoy! Two pieces of sourdough toast completed my delicious breakfast. I'm glad I followed Krista's recomendation! I didn't get a chance to give the talented chef my compliments in person, but Krista promised me that she'd do the favor for me. If Chef Ricky's perfectly cooked eggs, along with his amazing country potatoes don't give you the "wow" factor, maybe the view of retired airliners, or Krista's friendly service will... Anyway you look at it, if you're a pilot, railran, or anybody that loves a great breakfast, Voyager Restaurant in Mojave is the place to go... You could describe this fine restaurant as "Where aviation meets breakfast," as it's both a "foodie," and a pilot's dream. I'm giving Voyager Restaurant a whopping 5 stars, because of the delicious food, the friendly service, the great view, and because of the fact that, in addition to food, I love airplanes. read more

I give the Voyager Restaurant five stars for personality alone. I'm going to be honest: the menu is somewhat limited, and they tend to be out of some key ingredients. But the food is really good for what you're getting: cafe fare. What make Voyager worth visiting is the view: it's right on the airport flight line. There are mementos and photos from loyal fans adorning the walls, and the cafe itself is a relic right out of the WWII Marine airfield that the spaceport now occupies. The staff is small, but they treat visitors old and new alike with sincere warmth and friendliness. If you're going to visit Mojave spaceport and see where history is being made, plan for a stop at the Voyager to round out your trip. read more

One of the coolest places I've ever dined at. The ambiance is unmatched. The food is top notch! I attended Rod Stewart night with my family and we walked away feeling like we had seen the one and only Rod Stewart himself. It's a story our family will tell for years. I loved the food as well. It's a restaurant attached to the Mojave Air and Space Port. Doesn't look like much from the outside but when you walk inside the whole back of the dining room is windows where you can see airplanes and helicopters take off and land. The food was DELICIOUS and the waitress and service was great. Definitely will be back when we are on our next road trip on the 14. read more
