Incredible customer service!!! I asked the gentleman I spoke with if he could fix my wall clock. The hour hand became loose and stayed at the bottom of the clock (6). He spent several minutes telling me how I could fix it myself. If I couldn't, he gave me the name of another business that could fix it. He then further said if I watched You-Tube, I could see how easy it was to fix the loose hand. I watched You-Tube, followed the video, and the hour hand NOW WORKS! We recently moved and had our movers pack and unpack our 31 year old grandfather clock. Unfortuntely, they repacked the weights into a plastic bin and we had thought the weights were lost. That's when I found Dale online. I was afraid to unpack the clock cables and thinking the weights were lost, I contacted Dale, who had me send pictures of the clock, so he could try to find some replacements. He was able to find weights to match the originals, which was impressive. Fortunately, the weights were found and the movers unpacked and put the clock together. I was grateful it worked and kept time with, except for chiming two minutes late. I let Dale know I no longer needed the weights. However, our clock had never been cleaned or serviced. So, I asked Dale to come out to our home. He was prompt and very communicative once I reached out to him. He said clocks should be serviced every five to ten years, otherwise once they stop, an overhaul could be possible. Dale shared a story where he serviced a clock built in 1760, so I knew he was an expert. He'd also restored a clock for someone, whose movers had not dismantled the clock at all! I contacted Father Time to have my 100 year old ship's clock cleaned as the business got good reviews (only 5 star reviews) and was closest. Dale told me $125 for the cleaning and he'd have it done in a week. After a few days, Dale said that there were some worn pins that needed replacing and it would cost an additional $125 and to give him a couple of weeks. After two and a half weeks, I called and was told it would be another week or so. After another two weeks, he told me two more weeks. He finally told me the clock was ready but when I got it home, I noticed the chime/bells were not in sync. Dale told me that it was a minor adjustment and to bring it back. It would take about a week. After 3 weeks, he said it was finished and he'd deliver it to me. He showed me that the bell chime was now working however, when I put it back on the wall, the chimes were much slower than normal and occasionally skip so I manually catch them up. Also, the clock loses about 5 minutes in a 12 hour period, which it did not do before and I need to wind it each day instead of every other day. Dale seems to be careful about his repairs although I do not think I will return. The good things are that Dale seems to care and did not charge me for the return visit. He also delivered the clock after the second visit. The things I didn't like was the time it took to clean/repair and that it does not seem to be the same (chimes slower; losing time). I made an appointment with Dale for 7:30 on Thursday night. He was Right on time. He took the time to explain what he was doing and what my 1890 Grandmother Clock needed. This clock has been "Fixed" before and has had problems during the 35 plus year's we've owned it and had quit running a couple years ago. I called one person in Walnut Creek cuz it's very rare to have someone that can work on these clocks and I left my name and number and that was it no call back.
