I took the watch to a large jeweler/watch store in Walnut Creek and was quoted $600, which felt like a total ripoff. Thankfully, I found Richard through Yelp--and what a blessing that turned out to be. He is incredibly friendly, professional, and clearly knows his craft. He took the watch apart and walked me through each component, even showing me the exact part that was broken. That level of transparency really gave me confidence. It took about a week to get my watch back since he had to order the part, but the pricing was very reasonable, and I honestly feel like I got a great deal. On top of that, he even removed a link from my other watch for free. I can confidently say I've found my watchmaker.
