I ignored it for a few years then finally searched online and, conveniently, The Tick Tock Store was close by and the website showed it serviced grandfather clocks. BEWARE!!! he is only open on Saturday's and quite honestly I don't know how he stays in business. We took a clock in for repair and were quoted two weeks to fix. Went back a month later and he said the part had not come in yet. Went back a couple more times over the next month and he was never open. I learned he is now only open on Saturdays. I have had watch batteries replaced by the Tick Tock Store periodically for years, but had never had watch or clock repair. I brought my wife's ceramic clock that she received as a family gift to the store for repair, thinking that it probably was a lost cause and would have to be disposed. Sadly this place is a waste of time. Excuse my mediocre pun. I dropped off four vintage watches and was promised estimates within one - two days. Seven days later, I returned to the shop to find the door locked during normal business hours. I called the shop later in the day and was told that he had not had a chance to look at any of my watches yet. I returned to the shop to collect my watches. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Never open when it should be. Clocks are not fixed on time or even a month after sometimes. Went recently to take my grandparent's mantel clock in and was stopped by a customer outside who said the same thing. He had been waiting for them to open but they never seem to be around. The quality of the work isn't bad. We got our antique clock back in good shape, not perfect, and some of the hinges still needed to be tightened by us. But it clearly had been cleaned and had new springs put in, which makes me happy. Brian isn't exactly on top of it. He gave my dad a receipt with the store's logo and a disclaimer to present receipt to pick up merchandise and that all merchandise left over 60 days would be subject to being discarded. After a few days Dad called to ask about the clock, but Brian couldn't find it and said he'd get back to us. A few days later, Mom called. Still no luck. When Dad called a few days after that to complain, Brian said, "Your clock is ready and it has been here for a while-- why haven't you come to pick it up yet?" Dad came in and presented the receipt, but Brian said, "I don't use those receipts anymore. Where did you get that from?" Regardless of the scatterbrained owner, the oldest thing in the house is back and in beautiful working condition with only minor tweaks to get it back to the way we know it. I'm finally getting around to writing this review of a experience I had about a year ago. I brought in a Movado watch to have the clasp on the stainless steel watchband replaced. I assumed the new clasp would be a genuine Movado part, exactly the same as the old one. However, the new clasp was not the same, and it wasn't even a Movado. The mechanism that releases (opens) the clasp is harder to work than the old one. On top of that, one of the hinges that fastens the clasp to the band is very, very stiff. I mentioned all these concerns to the owner when I picked up the watch. He brushed them all off, saying the clasps are really all the same quality and the stiffness would loosen up (it never did!). I paid $110 to have this clasp replaced. That's not an insignificant amount and I think it should have been an exact replacement with a genuine Movado part. If for some reason the part could not be obtained, then the owner should have explained that to me in advance. read more

Do NOT go here in less you can wait a very long time... My Experience: Took three old time peaces here... I had documented all information: Make, model, source information, enlarged pictures of mechanism to make ID easier and the documented exact problem w/ each... Even supplied the parts for one piece... I asked very specific questions over the phone... Made an appointment and delivered the time peaces as promised... I asked at least 3 questions at the shop regarding the time needed to repair clocks... Each time is was a slightly different response, but a window of several weeks was always proposed... After 2 and 4 weeks I emailed and was put off w/ excuses... After 3 MONTHS (to be fair +- 5 days) I stopped by and requested the 3 pieces... ALL were in their original delivered containers and all in a drawer under the display case... The owner made excuseS about the complexity of repair of each piece although he had obvious not started repair - more BS... One piece was an old bulova accutron I had from the 1960's and even supplied a new battery... Another an old mantel clock that I had already thoroughly cleaned but could not fix as at my age I shake to much... This is NOT the place you want to go w/ your cherished time pieces as they will be placed in a dusty corner someplace and forgotten... read more

My Howard Miller wall clock quit working (after a number.. well over 10? years) so I took it to the Tick Tock Store for assessment and repair. The fix was a little more expensive than I expected since the clock needed an entire new mechanism...but worth doing since I like the clock and I received it as a gift so this is the only money I've spent on it. The clock works great! The store owner set it to the correct time and told me he held it a few days after repair so that he could be sure it was repaired and worked correctly. Was reassuring to know that the shop is an authorized Howard Miller repair shop. I am not rating 5 stars since the shop wasn't the best at communicating with me about the repair status. I had a few batteries replaced the other day at this shop and was more than just happy with the service. Polite, straight forward and efficient; I just loved this shop. It is exactly what a clock/watch repair shop should be. They even put my wind up wrist watch back together after a person from Radioshack tried to replace the battery for me. Yes, you read that correctly. All in 10-15 minutes. I dashed over to Rite Aid for the wait. It is a little hard to find but it is catty-cornered from the far edge of Rite Aid - around the corner from the main parking area of the strip mall. Parking is in back for your convenience.
