AVOID MR. APPLIANCE! Trust the Yelp Reviews! Unfortunately, I called Mr. Appliance Cleveland to…read morerepair my refrigerator starter and capacitor... which based on research I understood to actually be a simple DIY for anyone not afraid to open the panel on the back of the fridge... but I wouldn't dare...and also aware that the parts were very inexpensive, I figured if it was that simple, it shouldn't cost much and took a chance with "neighborly" Mr. Appliance Cleveland because reviews, their website and friendly staff made me feel safe that I wouldn't get gouged. Wrong. The tech spent 10 minutes behind the fridge on the phone with Frigidaire to diagnose then gave me an electronic invoice for $260 labor for a job that takes less than 30 minutes and $247.80 for parts that were $130 in total online for the most expensive OAM parts (they were much cheaper on Amazon, but for the purpose of my discontentment, I'm sharing the most expensive costs I could find at any retailer). Because I decided to decline after questioning the invoice details, I was on the hook for $199 diagnostic fee + $20 restocking fee for the parts. Naturally, I don't want to give them $220 for a 10 minute visit, and I need the repair but don't have time for additional research to find a more honest company at this point, so I will pay them to do the work, but will NEVER refer anyone or use that business again. Read the Yelp reviews and you will find that my experience is not unusual. Correction. The charge was $548 and the technician was there for 10 minutes.

I called and they came the next day. I asked them to call me not my son whose dryer I broke. They…read moredid not. I called and they told me I needed to order a part. I did. My son said we found it was under warranty. I called back to cancel the part in 1 hour. They said it has to be delivered first and then they will charge me a 20% restocking fee. Totally unacceptable. Never use this company. It's all about money

Recently I was gifted a pre-owned appliance from Plug Appliances. The appliance was properly…read moreinstalled. I was not able to light the pilot light for the oven. I was told by the customer service person that I would be charged $50.00 if it was not installed properly. It was installed properly! The service man (aka the owner) who unprofessionally called me by my first name twice, without permission. After correcting him he proceeded to light the pilot, then exclaimed, "Boom! Pay me $50.00 dollars baby!" I told him I was a senior on a fixed income and I felt it unfair to charge me $50.00 dollars because I did not know to hold the button at the same time to light the pilot. As he continued to call me "baby", he said he was going to invoice me anyway even though there was nothing technically wrong. He could have comped this service. That would have been good customer service. I don't think he would appreciate some service representative or owner of a company calling his mother "baby" while price gouging her. My name ain't baby! As a 69 year old African American Woman on a fixed income I am in support of patronizing Black owned businesses. However, I am not in support of patronizing any business with an owner that is rude, arrogant, unprofessional and is disrespectful in how they speak to their customers and dishonest in how the company handles customers. As he left my home I told him he should refer to his customers by their last names. Learn how to properly talk to people. Courtesy and respect and good customer service go a long way!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Every time I've had a client or myself order from…read morehere it's been an issue, with shitty customer service. This is how it works: You order. A lady calls and tells you a six hour time frame for delivery. Doesn't matter if you tell them someone will be there. Driver calls you anytime during that six hour. Not in the morning when they start their shift, whenever they feel like it. Mind you I'm at work so he and leaves me a voicemail at noon, i miss it. So i call back, get voicemail and do the same letting him know he's still, as he was before CONFIRMED. I have someone waiting, they never show up to deliver. I call the office hoping for a resolution and get an attitude and told "I have to repay for a delivery" and wait another week. A customer shouldn't be told "maybe we're just not a right fit". Maybe you guys need to improve on your business procedures since you're in fact providing a product AND A SERVICE. Do yourselves the favor, don't be cheap and go to Home Depot and save yourselves the headache. Cheap prices get you cheap service for sure.
