Ok, this place seems like a scene, people are loud and want to have some fun! It's a packed house tonight. We had to wait a bit, before we got a seat. What we ordered: Sangrias: We had to order another round, since it was yummy Tripe stew- Yes, this is not for the faint of heart! Haha, the waiter kept on warning us, you sure, you want this...we said "yes." This is a heavy and more traditional dish. But, gosh, it was sooo tasty! Omelette-tasted like potatoes and mayo, but still ymmy Shiitake mushrooms-fried dip in ranch dressing, different twist other than calamari? Not bad Paella-was average, but I thought it went well with the tripe stew.

Madrid is one of my favorite cities. From the wonderful people to the plethora of Tapas Bar's. SO when me and a friend walked into Fatigas del Querer, I was so pleasantly surprised to see how friendly the staff was. Actually not surprised at all, as we were treated like Canadian's and not the American degenerate pig bastard, that we have become everywhere, except Thailand. That being said the bartenders kept us busy with our broken Spanish and there better English. Try the Iberico, Try the Chorizo, try, try, try! Loved it all. The wine the food the company! Although I thought Florida shrimp aioli is better, I was still impressed. Can't wait to get on a plane again.

We came for a drink at the bar and their tinto list was huge so we asked for our bartender's opinion. He was very helpful and knowledgeable too. We let him choose the wine for us and it was very nice. My first favorite Tinto Rioja in Spain--the start of my education. He clearly loves his job and wine. It is so fun to meet people like that. I wrote down his name but I lost it along the way. He is a red-head with a heavier lisp than typical in Madrid. I hope this place recognizes a wonderful employee as he is (maybe his name is George?) We came back for Sangria on another day and enjoyed watching the staff make it. After reading all the reviews, I wish we had been hungry when we came. Next time :-)

This restaurant is super busy! They serve tapas, but the portions are huge! I was used to the small sized tapas and accidentally over ordered. I ordered: - Shrimp with garlic sauce - This was good, but anything in garlic sauce is good. - Patata Bravas - Probably the best I had in Madrid. The potatoes were fresh and I really loved the sauce! - Oxtail with potatoes - This was so big! We couldn't finish the oxtail, which made me so sad. But the oxtail was yummy! The meat was so tender that it was falling apart and melt in your mouth ready. I wish there was more sauce. Tip: I'd recommend only order the Oxtail or Patata Bravas and not both, unless you have a lot of people. We had way too many potatoes left over. - Paella - It was OK. Too fishy for my taste. Not something I'd highly recommend The service was decent as well. It's hard to flag waiters down when they're busy but also because we are tourists and just have a hard time communicating sometimes. Not a must try, but definitely better than all the restaurants near the touristy areas!

Came here with my family on a recent trip to Madrid and left very full and very satisfied. The restaurant itself is pretty big compared to a lot of other restaurants and tapas bars we went to. We were happy to see that there were plenty of tables to sit at, especially after a long day of walking. Keep in mind, we went early to avoid the dinnertime crowds. The food was delicious and very affordable. We ordered the potatoes with two different sauces (seemed like garlic mayo sauce and a red pepper sauce), oxtail, calamari, and fried fish. My favorite was the oxtail, which was super tender and very flavorful. The potatoes were really tasty with the sauces. I became pretty addicted to the sauces... they were great for dipping the bread in after the potatoes were gone. The sangria here was also really good. My sister, who's studying in Madrid this summer, loved this place so much that she's come back twice with her classmates. Overall, this place is a fantastic value for delicious, authentic Spanish food. Highly recommended!

2 euro sangrias! Yes! We stopped here after a local suggested it to us and were not disappointed. It wasn't very busy when we got there, definitely not a touristy spot, which was great. The waiters were helpful and everyone spoke enough english for us to ask questions and order. We had to get the paella and it was so good. Very well priced too! Quite a bit of seafood. We also had a few tapas, cheese and meat types of plates. They also brought out a few little sausages when we first got there, they looked a little odd but we still ate them and they were really good.

Delicious and inexpensive tapas! Some girls took me here and I was not disappointed.

We went here for lunch and the waiter was very helpful! His English was fairly decent and he told us the three most popular main dishes to order. My plate was just a ton of shrimp and it was delicious and filled with garlic. Prices were good, service was good, Id definitely come back

Also, got a goat cheese + caramelized onion one that was more goat cheese than onion. Would sub this one out if I come back. Got 4 jamon and 4 carrilerra (cheeks) croquettes. I thought they were medium sized based on the other Madrid croquettes we had. All croquettes we had on this trip were great, and these were certainly on par. You can tell by looking around, the place was emptyish while the tapas places nearby and across the street were full. We actually went inside the restaurant across this place, it was touristy and extremely expensive, we thought, this is not the experience we wanted. We left and entered the Sidreria. Here goes nothing... Here is the lowdown: it is CHEAP, LARGE PORTION sizes, DELICIOUS, super FRIENDLY (bar tender did Everything and was really nice to us. It helped that I speak spanish though) and were you get FREE TAPAS with your drink. Tell me when was the last time you got free tapas in a touristy bar? We ordered a Tinto de Verano (red wine, lemon soda and splash of vermouth) and it was great, cost about 2 euros or so! the only beer though, was San Miguel, but it tastes much better from tap than bottle, we repeated our orders shortly after downing the first batch. The free tapa came as a surprise, we had ordered several (including fried calamari already, and a tortilla) portions again, were cheap and huge. We were full then. At the next round of drinks, another free tapa came. I was surprised again and as a sign of respect, we ate it all again. No comments. A plate of peanuts and soft bread topped with a mayo/potato/fake crab meat. It looked so simple but it was so good! That's when they got me. Simple-delicious (like the tomato on bread and Olive oil) that's it. I was sold and happy we decidedly to enter.

I'm always amazed that such a gem exists in the heart of Madrid, a city center filled with tourist traps. Malaespina draws both locals and tourists -- and for good reason. The food quality to price ratio is unbeatable. On our most recent visit, we had huevos estrellados, tortilla tapas, sangria, and espressos, and spent about $20 for the two of us.
