My 2nd time dining at Fattys in Stafford. I really couldn't decide on what to order so I looked at previous reviews and decided on the fried shrimp. They were decent and the hush puppies were . I also ordered a regular margarita that was delicious. Service was a bit slow but the bartender was awesome and helpful.

    Crab dip. Very good.

Typical taproom type atmosphere, nothing special. The beer selection however was excellent. Approximately 38 beers on tap with something for everyone. Two were very rare finds (Bourbon County Stout varieties). Love the ability to serve yourself and sample as much or as little as you want. Food was also very good. Maybe slightly high prices, but worth it. We brought home leftovers for two meals. Server was ever attentive but not overly so. We will definitely return.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekend day... tried a few items. Calamari was a little too fishy tasting and very thin and fried almost to a crisp. Their grilled shrimp is done on a flattop with Old Bay and it's decent, not plated in a very appetizing way, but tasted well. The cocktail sauce that came with it had no horseradish in it and if it did, definitely wasn't noticeable; in fact, I had to add a bunch of tobacco to it to spike it up. Their shrimp poboy was decent, lots of shrimp and the sauce tasted nice. Their seafood pizzas looked and tasted pretty good too. Service was just OK, nothing special. Not a bad spot to stop in, watch the game, grab a beer and a sandwich.

I would not return back to this place. The building was rundown and very poorly maintained. Half the beers on top we're not available and the food makes me feel queasy thinking about it. The service was decent, and we were with it rather large group so I will give them that. Would not recommend.

There was a group of about 50 of us who came here for drinks and a late night snack after we left a film premiere. Dee and the other staff took good care of us. Because we arrived after 9pm, the menu was limited to fried food only. We ordered an assortment of chicken wings, chicken tenders, loaded fries, and other fried food on the menu. The food and drinks came out quickly and we had a great time.

It's not often I come across a place with a novel idea anymore but I absolutely LOVE the idea Fatty's uses for its beer...but more on that in a minute. I was down in the area for some training for work and a Urdu and I decided to give Fatty's a try (after looking at Yelp). We didn't have huge expectations, but we left after tasting some great beers and eating some delicious seafood. We started with some wings, crab cake balls and my buddy also got some gumbo. The wings were ok and we liked the crab cake balls, but I think my buddy was overwhelmed with how big the serving of gumbo was (it was his entree). I ordered the steam pot and I should've listened to the waitress and shared, but I was on a mission. After eating 1 Ib Snow Crab Legs, 1 Ib Shrimp, 1 Ib clams, Sliced Sausage, Red Potatoes, Corn, cole slaw and old bay fries (ok, I was a failure and unable to finish the fries and slaw) I could barely get up. Back to the beer...they give you an activation card for the table. You take the card over to the taps and you can choose your own beer and pay for what you pour. Want a one once sip to try it out you can do so. For someone who like flights, this is a great way to know you'll love each of the beers you drink. I had two flights and eight different 5oz beers. You can also pour singles if you'd like. Here's the down side...I feel like I'm doing someone else's job when getting my own beer. I still think this is a really cool and novel idea, but I'm not getting a discount for doing someone else's job...maybe the bar bill should be separate from the food. I had a great time here and loved the food (though I are WAY too much) and our server was pretty friendly and helpful. I'm glad I can't eat at this place regularly, but if I'm back in the area I may be back...perhaps with a smaller meal.

I was very impressed with the food and service that I received at Fatty's Tap House. I am visiting family the area and I wanted seafood. The restaurant was spacious and the food came out in a descent amount of time. Out waitress Christina, was patient and friendly. I came to dine with my two great aunts and my friend. I am appreciative that we were seated early. Christina delighted us with the twenty percent off drink specials. I was won over by the calamari that we ordered as an appetizer. It was prepared perfectly and it was delicious. It's my birthday weekend so I went all out and ordered the seafood boil it was overly pricey in my opinion because it's half the price when I order it in Charlotte. Nevertheless the portion was humongous and the Classic flavor was bold without being over spicy. The bartender does an amazing job with the drinks. The bathrooms were cute and clean! This will be my go to whenever I'm back in Virginia.

Wings and hush puppies. Lemon pepper and medium hot.

I've been here so many times for socializing to going away parties for work. The food are pretty good and services are standard. I haven't gotten any bad services yet, mainly because we come in big groups. I haven't had any beer on tap so I can't really comment on it. The best thing to get here is the shrimp basket with hush puppies. Each shrimp is plump and juicy, the hush puppies are so sweet. Wings are pretty good, fried and crunchy. I had the lemon peppered flavor, I think the sauce could have been better.

We were here earlier than usual (10:30 am, don't judge me for drinking before noon!!!) and we're the only customers. It's uniquely located at a camp ground, but parking is a bit limited. The tasting room is small but has amble seating. There was a piano in the tasting room and no one was at the tasting room when we entered. My daughter who is a beginner pianist, wanted to play. Since there were no signs on the piano that forbid people touching, she went ahead and played. Then an older gentleman came in and told us in a stern tone that the piano is not for playing. He was not friendly at all and even after we apologized and ordered a flight for sampling, he still was not engaging. I'm not sure if he is the brew master or just someone works for the campsite store, but he didn't seem too happy to be there. We had the 2 stouts, an Amber, and pilsner on tap for our flight. They were all just OK. We didn't want to order more because his attitude and the sense that we were not welcomed there... Which was too bad because it was a nice space with plenty of outdoor seating, a playground in the back for kids to play while parents enjoy some refreshing beer. We will most likely not go back again given the cold-shoulder treatment.

There are three slot machines to test your good fortune. oh yeah, the food, the salad was so fresh I thought I died and came back as a rabbit.. The crabcake was spot-on, more crab than batter, golden and perfectly cooked. I got adventurous with a mango lemonade blended with mango iced tea, which was straight-up tropical magic in a glass but cost me a dollar up charge for getting fruity. Now, the mac & cheese? It had a strong boxed mac vibe, nostalgic but not quite my jam since I started making over minimum wage. Shoutout to the staff for offering to swap it out immediately, but since it was nothing really wrong with it besides the fact that I don't like box, mac & cheese, I stayed the course (no harm done). Non-lunch hour menu prices run from $12 to $48, offering a large variety of food, options. It came with two slices of French toast with just the right touch of spices, home fries, and homemade sausage patties (way better than the greasy commercial ones!). I also ordered a plain latte, which was excellent. No notes. My mom (who is 82 and VERY particular) ordered the "Uncle Richard" plate that came with two eggs, choice of meat (ham), home fries, and choice of pancakes or French toast (she chose pancakes). She also reported everything was delicious. ("Although I would rather have hash browns." Sigh. It's always something, ain't it?) She also ordered plain coffee. For someone who does not like to deviate from DD Keurig coffee, she thought the coffee was "Very good!" Widewater Grille gets its Cuban beans directly from Key West. I had Uncle Richard's Breakfast with eggs, green peppers and onions, bacon, home-fried potatoes, and French toast. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. The home fries tasted truly homemade, which is harder to find than you'd think. The coffee was excellent, served in a real mug, and I loved being able to refill it myself. My fiancé ordered the 12-ounce strip steak cooked medium, and he hasn't stopped talking about it. He said it was cooked perfectly, which is something even many chain restaurants struggle to get right. What really stood out was the atmosphere. The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant has that local, family-run feel that immediately makes you comfortable. As a retired Marine family, we also appreciated the Marine Corps traditions and military pride displayed throughout the restaurant.
