They showed up on time, did the work quickly and the work looks great. Then after using the water it was determined that the water pressure was low, most noticeable of the 2nd floor. Contacted Water Works Services and after texting them back and forth, I figured out that the hot water pressure was low. The Plummer indicated that they had turned off the hot water shutoff valve while they were working on the water main piping. I turned the valve to open it up and it just kept spinning. This indicated that the valve was broken, it would not close or open, it was stuck in the middle somewhere. Water Works Services came back out and fixed the valve for no charge. They stood by their work which was a nice surprise.

No parts were replaced or anything just a flipped switch. most companies that simple of a thing would have been included in the $145 service charge. If they would have spent half an hour putting a new valve on or something the 1hour labor charge would have been justifiably. I then attempted to clear the blockage through a cleanout access point in the basement, again without success. At that point, I called Roto-Rooter. The technician they sent was outstanding. He used a 75-foot electric drain snake and initially pulled out nearly half a bucket of thick grease buildup. Although the drain clogged again shortly afterward, his second pass completely cleared the line. The water began flowing freely with no further issues. To be thorough, he also ran the snake in the opposite direction from near the end of the line to ensure there were no additional obstructions. Throughout the process, he explained each step, answered my questions, and took all the necessary precautions. I was very impressed by his professionalism, expertise, and friendly demeanor. He ordered an expensive part and kept it in his, so in case the first round of repairs was not enough to fix the malfunction, he could come over quickly and get my heat back on without any delays. Luckily, that first thing wound up fixing the issue, and I didn't have to pay for what would turn out to be an unnecessary, much costlier repair. It doesn't hurt that the company has very customer-friendly policies: responsive 24 hour service (not just lip service), no diagnostic charge if a repair exceeds the cost of the visit, and no charge for any subsequent visits for the same problem within 30 days. Trustworthy, reliable repair is notoriously hard to find, but I've found it here!
