I have been trying for over a week to make contact about an appointment but no one calls back.

I made an appointment over the 4th of July weekend for an appointment at 3:00 pm 7/5/2022. I drove to the facility and walked in. It was very quiet, but the receptionist was there. She stated that there were no doctors in the practice on that day, she could not find my appointment. After some discussion on how and when I could get seen, the receptionist mentioned that this same hiccup happened with another patient. I have been asked by staff to update my review to reflect that Dr Katz is no longer with this practice. I have modified my review to be 3 star to reflect the value of the service I received, although that was as a result of Dr Katz who isn't there any more....so take that in context. It doesn't change my frustration over the length of the wait, mostly because I saw a a 4 day old review expressing the same frustrations that doesn't really bode well that their office and appointment management has improved in 9 years since I visited. Given I haven't found another dermatologist with better care in the Peachtree City area, and had been considering trying this practice again, when I do I will update based on the inconvenience factor of excessive wait times. If the office management wants better reviews, they should reply with what procedures or new systems they have put in place to improve the common complaint on all the reviews, and when they have patients not suffering from excessive wait time, have those patients share their positive experience. read more

My family has used Fayette Area Dermatology for over 20 years. We have had many different skin issues and they have always been professional, caring and prompt in resolving our problems. read more

Front office was nice but the doctor I saw left me scared to ever go back. Had a granuloma removed and I wasn't numb when he started to cut into me. I told them I was terrified of blood. I left feeling scarred and shaking. Bedside manner was awful and I could hear them talking about other patients while waiting in my room. read more

Not anymore. This was once a great practice, but since Dr. Michael Zaycosky left, all is lost. The front desk was pleasant enough but the medical assistant was rude and insulting. It appears the other reviews are fairly negative. My experience at FAD has always been pleasant. There is always a smiling friendly face greeting me at the window. They are good at working with you and your insurance. Dr. Laura Bush is always such a delight to visit. She is very patient with me and is proactive with anything she finds that might not be quite right. I would recommend her to anyone. Love her and her office staff. read more

Very disorganized. First visit it took three calls to get my prescription ordered. Second visit 75 mins waiting to be called back after arriving for 8a appt at 745. Left without seeing anyone. Not going back. read more

I waited for an hour to be seen (why do they make appointments anyway?). I was a short term patient of Dr. Katz. I went in with my history all typed up and he did not even consider my problem being something else. He concurred with another doctor and I don't believe my problem is what they say. He prescribed a $100 cream (he knew I had a high deductible) and an antihistamine that I was suppose to take every six hours. I told the nurse my pharmacist and went on my way. The prescriptions was called in to the wrong place and also it was called in WRONG. If I am to take this medication every six hours why did they prescribe ONE pill???? I have lost all faith in doctors after this year of going to 3 different dermatologists and my regular doctor. They are all in it for the money... I have YET to find one who actually cares about their patients. read more

BE PREPARED TO WAIT!! I fulfill my end of the appointment agreement and show up on time, however I wait no less than 45 minutes to be seen. 3 separate appointments and this happens each time. The nurses are FANTASTIC, but since this establishment intends to keep wasting my time I will not be coming back. read more

Please do not expect an actual diagnosis for your problem. I was seen all of 5 minutes and prescribed a steroid cream that will mask my issues but not get to the actual root of the problem. read more

Visited Fayette Area Dermatology so my son could have warts removed from his hands and legs. We have had FOUR visits. For three of the visits they charged me for treating 15 or more warts. My son NEVER had that many warts. For the last visit they charged me for 14 or less! Sadly, he still has the warts and now is trying to cut them off with a knife himself. Breaks a mama's heart to see him so self conscious about this and the $500 that I have given to this office so far has not helped his condition. Secondly, I had an appointment to treat a skin condition on my elbow. Treatment worked and I DID NOT have a follow up appointment. While I was there for one of my son's wart appointments, the PA casually asked me how my elbow was doing. Never did she examine my elbow. I was charged for an appointment at the same time of my son's. According to the office manager, Heather, since the PA "asked" about my elbow that counted as an office visit. I was charged twice for an office visit when I only had an appointment for one. Be careful about overbilling at this office! read more

In my opinion Dr. Katz is lacking in judgement. He left a hole in the front of my face that I will have to live with forever and that makeup won't even hide. He used VERY POOR judgement. Another option could have been used and not left the scar. I have never had a history of cancer and do not have any now. He never told me that this would be the outcome or ask if I would have a problem with messing up my face. I do think of him every time I put makeup on my mutilated face. Dr. Sandwich is great but only operates so you can't see him. How sad. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Cox for years. His original practice was in East Point near what is today known as Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, South Campus. He moved to Fayetteville in the early 2000s. I continued to see him there until he became so busy that I started seeing Dr. Luichattie who is no longer there. I have now made an appointment for my mom to see a new doctor named Dr. Zoaycosky. I will report back later on how this visit goes. Dr. Luichattie was antibiotic crazy and seemed perfectly happy to put patients on antibiotics for life. Regardless of side effects such as chronic diarrhea and the fact that if the patient should need that particular antibiotic for other infections it would no longer work. Most physicians are aware of the CDC guidelines regarding the over prescribing of antibiotics and are cautious in how many and how often they prescribe antibiotics but Dr. Luichattie was not. Good riddance. read more

Do not go to this dermatologist office they will give you bad information about their services and then blame you for misunderstanding. They just want your money. Stay away, you will wait over an hour for nothing read more

I recently moved my mother to Fayetteville with me with the worse case of psoriasis ever. My mother's condition effected the entire family. We didn't know what to do to help relieve my mother discomfort and misery. We were referred to Fayette Area Dermatology where Laura Bush, PA-C. attended to her. My mother has been on almost every medication there is for psoriasis. Laura Bush, PA-C. welcomed my mother and immediately comforted her. After only 1 month, my mother not only looks healthier but feels better. It's not only the medication that's working but the knowledge and confidence Laura Bush has displayed to my mother. My mother received her 2nd treatment from Laura Bush, PA-C on yesterday and is looking forward to getting back to a normal life. We want to give the BIGGEST SHOUT OUT to Laura Bush, PA-C for not only properly diagnosing and prescribing the correct meds for my mother's condition but helping to bring back happiness to my mother's life. read more

To date, I have been to this dermatologist office two times, and both experiences exceeded my expectations. I have been batlling adult acne for 10 years, on and off, so I have a lot of experiences with dermatologists. I am also a recent college graduate, like many others, who returned home and is diligently seeking employment. Needless to say-to insurance and no money:( I chose this office b/c they use a sliding scale for people who are uninsured. Anyhow, I read an unflattering review about Dr. Katz, who in my opinion, has been the best dermatologist who I have seen in the past 10 yrs! He removed a huge mole I had on my back and everyone comments on how nice it was healing up (my parents expecially!). He is also trying to find the best skin care routine for me since my skin is almost immune to everything. He's given me samples, some worked well and other did not as he understandings my situation. I probably shouldnt say this just in case he gets in trouble for it, but he also saw me for free b/c a few samples werent working and I needed to try some other medications (samples, or course!) He is from NY, so he is very upfront and I can see where people can take him the wrong way. He keeps it real! He lectured me for 5 mins for not taking care of another health issue because, "he has a daughter my age..." the same conversation my parents have given me reapeatedly. So that's been my experience with Dr. Katz. Oh, and the front office staff and technicians, especially Lisa, are very nice too:) read more

I was new to the area and found this group last year. I am on a certain medication for my skin, so I have to see the doctor 3-4 times a year. My first time seeing Dr. Katz, I was not impressed, as he was very aloof and arrogant. I did not feel comfortable with him and did not want to see him again, so the staff suggested that I see Laura Bush, the PA, because Dr. Sandwich was not taking new patients. I saw her 2 times after that, which again, rushed, and not happy with her bedside manner either. The last time I was in to see her, I waited over 2 hours (left work early, I do not get paid for these hours) so when I was now waiting in the patient room, I peeked out to see when the doctor was coming in, and they told me she'd be right in, that they were running behind, mind you this is after 2 hours..She comes in with a harried look and with an attitude because I was wondering when I'd be seen???? As it turned out, I had a lesion on my forehead that needed to be biopsy-ed and she said I would have to come back for. So I made another appt for 3 weeks later, again left work 2 hours early, get there at 3:45 for a 4:00 appt and at 4:20 the receptionist announces that she along with Dr. Katz are running an hour behind schedule. Really????? and we could either wait or reschedule, REALLY?????? So I went to the receptionist, asked for my records, signed a form for release and was out of there. This is the poorest run dermatology office I have ever been to. And I have been to many since my husband and I have relocated with his company over the past several years. I have never experienced such bad service before. And I think it was meant to be as I was not overly thrilled with a PA cutting into my scalp for the biopsy, which by the way, I have had this procedure done 4 times and ALWAYS by the Doctor, not the PA. So folks, do yourself a favor, do not use fayette dermatology. read more

I never got to see the doctor, I was in the hospital for another issue and the infectious disease doctor said i needed to see a dermatologist. I call Fayette Dermatology and was told the soonest they could see me was the 2nd of July. Now this was on the 4th of May. I set an appointment and started calling others to see if anyone could see me sooner. The first call I had an appointment with another Piedmont Dermatologist for this week. Are the doctors blind to what wait times and extended appointment scheduling are doing to their business? read more

Waited an hour and ten minutes for my daughters appointment. Dr. Katz did not even introduce himself or apologize for the long wait. I informed Dr. Katz that my daughter's primary care doctor suggested that she have the mole on her head removed. He then proceeded to ask my 12 year old daughter why she wanted the mole removed and scared her with details about the injection, slicing the mole and the possibility her hair may not grow back in that spot. What kind of Dr. does that to a 12 year old girl. He then asked my daughter if she still wanted the mole removed. She hesitated and Dr. Katz suggested she think about it since it is not medically necessary and make another appointment at a later time if she still wanted it removed. My first appointment: waited 1 hour til I got in. Second appointment: was on time waited 45 minutes then waited for 15 minutes in the room. I would NOT recommend Dr. Katz. His bedside manner is arrogant. There was a change in price for an elective procedure and lack of proper scheduling of it so I opted to leave because he acted clueless when he came in and did not schedule properly so wasted my time and I ended up leaving because he did not make me feel confident. read more

This is an extremely busy office. My secret is to get the first appt of the day and arrive 15 minutes early for it. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Dr. Bouey is outstanding and will take as long as we need to explain concerns even though she is solidly booked. She has helped my daughter with Accutane treatments and asks questions each month about progress. This is the 3rd Peachtree City dermatologist we've been to and the best office so far, both in doctor knowledge and experience, staff friendliness and efficiency. The complaints I've seen deal primarily with wait times and I don't doubt it can be an issue. read more

After reading the earlier reviews, I was worried, because I value my time... I came in immediately after their lunch hour as a new patient, and was ushered in 10 minutes after I handed in my info. I saw one of the PA's within 10 minutes after that. Everyone was professional and cheerful. I was out and back to work in just a few minutes. read more

I will not return to Dr. Katz for any care. My daughter and I waited for 1 hour for a 1:00 PM appt, the first one after lunch. We did not get into an exam room until 2:00 PM, then we could hear Dr. Katz laughing and joking for another 20 minutes. When he did finally arrive in the room his manner was over dominating. He did not listen carefully to our description of the issues my daughter was having. He did not pre-read the forms we filled out, which revealed that we have a family history of melanoma. He quickly looked at my teenage daughter and decided that she needed a dark mole removed, described the surgical procedure in great detail, scarring my daughter to death. I found the doctor very loud, insensitive and overbearing. I thought he came to the decision to do surgery way too quickly. Why not measure the mole and watch it for a period of time, or take a biopsy and then make a decision? We went for a second opinion today and found a dermatologist who was the complete opposite of Dr. Katz. We got a same day appointment, arrived and were seen within 5 minutes upon arriving at her office. She was conservative, thorough, and very professional. She recommended that the mole be measured and reviewed again in a couple of months. I will not be returning to Dr. Katz for any further treatment and I will not recommend that my friends do so either. read more

I saw Dr. Sandwich at this practice about a 1-2 years ago due to a flair up of eczema. He was nice and treated my condition in a good manner. He told me to return if I ever had any other issues. I called today to schedule an appointment with him because I have recently had the eczema to flair up again. The receptionist offered to make me an appointment with an Assistant. I explained to the receptionist that I was in no hurry and would like to schedule an appointment with Dr. Sandwich. I don't mind seeing an assistant but on my first visits to any medical practice for a medical issue, I like to see a doctor and then I will gladly see an assistant for all subsequent visits. She put me through to his nurse to leave a message. The nurse calls me back and offers to make me an appointment with the Assistant again. In other words, we don't care what you want and how you feel about it, you have to see an Assistant. She never offered to make me an appointment with Dr. Sandwich or the other physician at the practice. I kindly told her I would seek treatment elsewhere and she was like...OK. The assistants at this practice maybe very good at what they do but I don't think they should be seeing new patients or patients that have not been in the office for a while before these patients are seen by a Dr., especially if the patient requests to see a Dr. Furthermore, based on the other reviews here, they are over booked and I do remember having to wait for long periods of time when I went the first time. I guess when practices focus more on the cosmetic side of dermatology instead of a true medical need, this is what you get. Absolutely not for me. I will seek treatment for my true medical need elsewhere!!! read more
