Update. I was contacted by them and they explained their mistake and made it right. My wife took…read moremy mom this time and she said they weee very nice. I called yesterday morning to get an appointment for my mom, who is 85, and has an eye infection. It's hard for her to get around because she fell and broke her back last year. I had just gotten her home from the a very early spine clinic appointment where she had received a nerve block for bad sciatic nerve pain as a result of that break. We got back from that appointment and it was just after 9am (see photo). I called Primary Eye Care of Arlington to ask if they take Medicare primary and blue cross secondary and that my mom has a possible eye infection They said they did take them and said they had an opening that afternoon (yesterday). The spine doctor had said her leg may be weak for the rest of the day, so I asked about the next morning. The lady said they had an opening at 9am the next morning and I said that was perfect. She asked for all my mom's info and said we were set for 9am tomorrow. Well l, this morning I put my mom in her wheelchair and get her into the vehicle and drive her to primary eye care of Arlington. I get her out and take her inside. The lady at the front desk tells me we don't have an appointment. I told her that was impossible. She said they were booked up until into September and that nobody there would have told me that or given us an appointment for today. I doubt myself and check the number that was called yesterday. I ask if 867-5540 that is their number and she said it was. I touch the number on my phone screen from my call history from yesterday and their desk phone rings. (See pjo She is adamant that we don't have an appointment and that nobody would have given us that appointment. She said that the first available they had was on September 20th, a month away.... for an eye infection. That is ridiculous. I had to try to explain to my mom that they wouldn't see her and get her back in the vehicle and take her home. This is very unfortunate because this location is convenient to where we live.

After couple of years coming to the Primary Eye Care office in Arlington TN I won't be going there…read moreany longer . I would like to make you aware of the mark up cost that they add to all their products like contacts , eyeglasses, etc. I have received same contacts from the different optometry office priced at $220, after insurance benefit I had to pay only $100 for 6 months supply. PEC has charged me $313.99 last week, after insurance benefit it was $193.99 almost double . They added $9.99 shipping charge , completely disregarding my request to pick up contacts in their office . They didn't want me to come back and question contacts price I guess . Now I am going out of town to see my MIL for the Mother's Day and my very pricey contacts will be out in hot weather entire weekend . Terrible experience with overpriced contacts , poor customer service and now worrying about receiving possible defective contacts because I am not sure can my neighbor pick them up from the hot mailbox.

If I could give MEA 10 stars I would do it! This was my first time at this practice and I chose…read morethem and Dr. Kessler based off the online reviews I found. I was still a little nervous about the unknown because while 99% of the online reviews were super positive people don't generally take the time to write about their eye doctors and every rating site only had a handful of reviews. Obviously, the positive reviews were spot on. Starting with the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted by super friendly staff. The tech who ran me through the battery of pre-tests on the eye machines (glaucoma, refraction, retina scan, etc.) was not only friendly but explained exactly what she was doing every time and what I should expect (flashes of light, blasts of air). I did have to wait a little long to see Dr. Kessler and, as I suspected, the "other doctor" was unable to come in as planned. It seems like that kind of stuff happens all the time in this crazy COVID world nowadays so I wasn't put off by it at all. Stuff happens. The wait was well worth the service I received. Dr. Kessler's approach to an eye examination was unique and gave me confidence in her technical abilities and desire to make sure my eye refraction prescription was spot on. They don't sell glasses so there is absolutely no incentive for her or anyone else in the practice to adjust you unnecessarily. As a 50+ year old, I have been opting in for retinal scans. Dr. Kessler was the first doctor who showed me the scans and pointed out and explained everything on it. All others simply said something along the lines, "I looked at your scans and they look fine." Nice to know, but I like to be educated and I think an educated consumer is a much better consumer. Obviously Dr. Kessler does as well. On top of all that, she was, by far, the most personable optometrist I have ever used. She was plain speaking, dynamic, friendly, and somehow actually made the exam, dare I say...FUN! I'm not saying you should dump your current eye doctor. If you are happy with your doctor, by all means keep your doctor. However, if there is any part of the practice you currently use that you do not like or are uncomfortable with, do not hesitate to give MEA and Dr. Kessler a chance to earn your business. They've certainly earned mine as well as the rest of my family's.

My vision was better than 20/20 in one eye but a little less in the other so the adventure began. They take walk-ins and I've done that when I had a screw loose (no jokes) or something for a tech to handle but otherwise I always make an appointment. BTW our glasses always get readjusted with no problem, no hassle. The exception is when we've gone to pick up glasses. Yes, #1 daughter, #1 son and my sweetheart have all been examined here. The girls have pretty funky vision but Matt & I are readers only. We have made many trips here and there's always been a satisfactory outcome, so this is good! Their services range from comprehensive eye care to fitting you with prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses with personalized and attentive service. They've got a huge selection of styles and a lot of top brands, and they've always done a great job with #1 daughters contacts. My sweetheart got some GORGEOUS sunglasses on our last visit, I'll post a pic Bottom line: I have been generally satisfied with the service in the past, I have been going here for years and have never had any problems. Very good and friendly service with professional staff. Recommended!
