ED was great. Shout out to the two male RNs taking care of me! As soon as the doctor seen me the nurses and lab was back within mins. she looked at my throat and knew exactly what i had in 30 secs: tonsillitis and Peritonsillar abscess. Only thing that I strongly disagree with was ED Dr called ENT for consult. Had me move rooms for when he came to drain my abscess. Im guessing he refused to come because next thing I was being discharged and sent to ENT office. I feel that I should have been treated at ED instead of shipped around. At ENT I had to pay another co-pay $40 (just paid $50 at ED) staff was great there and very understanding. It was very painful and I left in tears. Prior to going to ED I went to reid ready care at meijers friday 10-11. Gave me nothing. Told me OTC and gargle salt water. I did all weekend and it worsened. Monday 10-14 I went to urgent care (ready care advised I go there) $40 co-pay. Tested me for strep again and mono. Both negative. Gave me nothing but a zpak. I feel if ready care or urgent care would have been a little more aggressive I wouldnt be in my current situation. I have been off work all week. Paid $155 in copays plus all the medications.
