I had been going to this dentist for years, but not anymore! My last cleaning I felt so intimidated, I was dumbfounded when I returned home. The dental assistant was very forceful and almost demanding as to what work needed to be done. All I wanted was a cleaning and that's all I was there for. Little has never been this intimidating, but he must have been desperate for money or something. And the receptionist was demanding a payment, I told her, you always send a bill. Scary woman! I've never had a dental office take the time to actually explain how my insurance works. Usually I just get a bill and have no idea what's going on, but they broke it down in a way I could finally understand. It really felt like someone was teaching me a whole new language and being patient about it. They even showed me what I might owe, but were upfront that insurance doesn't always make things clear. Everyone there was so kind and calm. They offered weighted blankets, which helped a lot because I get really anxious at the dentist. Dr. Little was funny and easy to talk to. He even said he gets nervous too, which made me feel way less embarrassed about being scared. I honestly left feeling like I learned more about my health and my insurance in one visit than I ever have at any doctor's office. If anyone had a bad experience here, I really think they just didn't give the place a chance, because these people actually care and it shows. read more

When I made the appt for basic care I told them my insurance was Providence Medicare Advantage which would cover exam, xrays and cleaning.... when I went in for the appt they didn't greet me but put a bill on the counter in front of me - then said that I needed to pay then and there and anything my insurance paid would be reimbursed... it was for $378.00 just for xrays and exam! I went in to the appt came out, and was told they were not contracted with my insurance so there would be no reimbursement. While these are very nice people who seem to try to help their clients, I was not pleased with our experience here. My son was in desperate need of dental care and needed to have all his teeth extracted, which Dr. Little did. My son had no dental insurance, so I paid for it. However, the cost was in excess of $20,000 dollars, which other dentists have told me was beyond excessive. My son had to have general anesthesia, which increased the cost, but even taking that into account, the cost was much higher than it should have been. I feel that they took advantage of my son's condition and our desperate situation. For this reason, I do not recommend them. read more

I love this place. I wouldn't say I have a full on dental phobia, but I have had some pretty negative experiences. From the usual condescending dentists to one that drilled into my cheek requiring stitches. It caused me to stop going all together and of course things got worse, but then you don't want to get the lecture about your teeth so you don't go. Cycle continues for a few years and here you are not wanting to smile because your teeth are messed up. I finally broke a tooth and couldn't avoid things any further. West Hills looked like a great place for someone like me that needed some compassion and not a lecture. They absolutely exceeded my expectations. Every single person there is just kind. No other way to say it. I was expecting a lot of shaming when I first went in and Dr. Little just fixed me up. No lecture whatsoever and they were incredibly gentle from explaining the process to the actual procedure which really put me at ease when I came back to fix the rest of my neglect. A few procedures later and I'm not afraid to smile anymore. Super huge thank you to everyone there. read more

I have always had a tremendous fear of dental work. I had bad teeth growing up, and we were not always in a position to get me the work I needed. When we were, the work done was often substandard, incredibly painful, and came with a heaping dose of shame. This was what dentistry was for me all through school. I have now been a patient of Dr. Little's for ten years, and I can say without hesitation that he is the best dentist I have ever had. He and his entire staff have always gone far above and beyond for me. They always make me feel safe, and comfortable, and they are always flexible with me and my anxiety. The work done here has always been exemplary, and no one has ever made me feel bad for being in whatever state I happen to be in. My first experience was with Bekah hygienists can sometimes make you feel as if you're not doing a good job with your teeth, but not Bekah. Great connection. Next I had a crown done by Dr Little. This is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. I have a sever phobia of going to the dentist because of some horrific experiences I have had in the past at other dental offices and everyone at West Hills Dental understood how afraid I was. They literally did everything to accommodate me so I could get all the work done I was in dire need of. Even went as far as giving me the necessary callings meds when I come in just for a cleaning. Dr. Little is absolutely amazing, and his staff - especially Taunya - are kind and professional. I'm terrified of dentists, and they made my first visit not only painless, but actually pleasant. One of my greatest fears was of being judged (I've met a few dentists who looked upon me with disdain), but he isn't that way at all. He's really nice! Outside of his demeanor and professionalism, one of the best things about him is that he isn't one of those dentists who will jump right to the most expensive treatment options. I need extensive treatment, myself, and have been told that I'm beyond help unless I want veneers, which would cost $18K. I'm so fortunate to have found Dr. Little. He made me realize that this was not the case, and after several years of the worst depression you can imagine, I finally have hope that I will be able to smile again. He works with you to find the right treatment plan for you and will never recommend more work than you need. You can tell that he is passionate about what he does and truly cares about his patients. I "was" the biggest neurotically freaked out dental patient ever. I've had drills dropped in my mouth, really bad dentist work (long story, and he was sued), cuts in the edges of my mouth, almost everything you can think of that would create fear. It was like I was destined to find every Frankenstonian Dentist out there. Then I found Dr. Little by chance. With my past experience, even under sedation I gave them a fight out of fear :) (Sorry staff and Dr. Little!). I have recommended so many co-workers, friends and anyone to this office. They are very gentle and have helped me overcome my fears. I still jump a little in the chair, but have come so far that it amazes me! I'm not kidding, everyone at this office is truly awesome. They are stuck with me for the rest of my life :), or until they fire me for my sedation sleep arguments!!! In my whole life, I never thought I would ever feel so strongly in a recommendation for a Dentist, or for that matter, recommend one! Dr. Little is very funny, personable, and informative. No bullshit, no trying to convince you of work that doesn't "need" to be done, but just straight honest care. If you were like me and had/have fear, message me!
