Dr. Matzelle in my humble opinion is a fantastic dentist and I am blessed to be one of his patients. He was sympathetic to my heartbreak about loosing all my teeth. I am grateful for his care, patience, kindness, compassion and positivity through was I felt was the worst thing that happened in my life. He worked with me until my dentures fit comfortably. I appreciate that he worked so hard to give me back my smile. The staff was also extremely warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. I have been a patient here for about a year. I missed a few appointments and by their regulations they should have dropped me as a patient. I was well aware of this. I had a filling that fell out and is showing the nerve. I called them and they had me come in the next day. I am in need of a root canal and they gave me antibiotics and pain medicine. They also scheduled me for another appointment for 3 days after I had just been there. I explained to them that I have the worst anxiety towards the dentist and I have since I was little. The staff was fantastic and offered to have nitrous available for me when I come in. I was very grateful they let me come in, scheduled me as fast as they did and also took an understanding to my fears of the dentist. read more

The dentist is nice, but the white lady receptionist is rude. She acts angry to be working there. How about fire her and give her something to be angry about? She should be happy she has such an easy job. I came on time to my exam appointment which was 15 minutes after they opened, so you would think I would not have to wait long, right? But I had to wait at least 40 minutes before they called me back for an exam that took one minute. They do not schedule exams and cleanings for the same day, which is very inconvenient. Their waiting room has a tv but no toys or books for kids. No wonder today's youth have poor literacy rates and no imagination. The exam rooms also have TVs on the ceiling, because we humans are just so addicted to screens we can't even go a few minutes without staring at one. The hygienist was nice, but her tools caused me pain the entire time she was cleaning my teeth, and my mouth hurt the whole day afterward. read more

What was supposed to be a teeth cleaning, ended up with the dental hygienist being loud, arguementive and disrespectful to me. And this was within minutes of me arriving. She told me, I NEEDED to have a deep teeth cleaning, without first looking at my teeth. I had explained I couldn't afford that, as they charger more than $1,000, and I don't have dental insurance. She didn't listen and was dismissive. When I told a woman at the front desk, (who I was told was the mgr) she told me, they LEGALLY had to do the deep cleaning, which I'd never of. I walked out. I later called the Oregon Board of Dentistry, and was told, it was up to me as the consumer. They should never have said it legally needed to be done! I'm glad I listened to my instinct and left. The staff is friendly and efficient. Especially Angie who went above and beyond for me to get me treated immediately before I was an established patient even. The empathy and compassion that Dr. Matzell showed me is something I haven't experienced from a dentist before. Plus my procedure was painless. I'm usually a nervous wreck when I go to the dentist but the entire experience was comfortable and exceeded my expectations. I have to have another procedure done on another tooth and I am actually looking forward to it! I've always had a terrible habit of not following up with a dentist and constantly putting off annual exams/cleanings etc. I am so grateful to have found this practice and Dr. Matzell to continue all of my dental care. read more

Very happy with my dental cleaning and fillings. When I switched insurances from OHP to Providence it was no problem, I'm in and out of there within an hour. I really appreciate the dentist and the ladies in the back that make it go smoothly. They are always checking in on me when I'm getting work done and asking if I'm ok. The only downside is they're hard office to get into. But that's what happens when you're the best! read more

Thank you guys so much for your help!i have been to this office several times and worked with at least 5 of the staff members. It seems to me that everyone who works here is happy with what they do and always so nice. Dr. Grant smith has performed 5 fillings on me so far, and he seems to be truly gifted. For example, he does this thing where he pinches and tugs on my mouth at the same time that the needle goes in which makes it hurt so much less! Also, he works quickly, is very calm, and remembers to say "you're doing great" at very appropriate times. The dental assistants who work with him are quick and need no instruction- they make a very good team! (This is very important, as my mouth is open the whole time and I want them out ASAP) The office looks great and I never hear screaming- yay Thank you, DR. Dr. Nourdine and Dr. Smith took care of me beautifully!! I came in after not reaching my own dentist. In fact, the insurance company contacted him and he agreed to rearrange his schedule to see me. I was in A LOT of pain but they got me comfortable then got me fixed up. I even got to see a dentist close to home for the oral surgery the next day, no waiting! If it was not for Dr. Smith being an awesome dentist I would NEVER GO HERE. I was getting my crown installed and the assistant dropped a rubber glove on the ground and then worked on my mouth. I am a shy person, and these little bullies that work in the back are crappy. During my first xrays they banged my face around and acted very unprofessional. The front desk staff is kind. The girls in the back are witches. I will never choose this place. They are scummy and unprofessional. read more

I've been to a lot of dental places. But finally I found a very high quality place that is extremely family friendly. First of all when I walk to the reception desk Anna, Darlene, and Brenda (All receptionists) they welcome me and my family with a very warm smile that really perks up our day. Secondly the assistants Eydy and Nakisa when they do deep cleaning on your teeth they are always gentle and meticulous. And finally Dr. Smith. When he gives me the numbing shot he always is gentle and careful and out if all of the tens of dentists I've been too I've noticed that Dr. Smith seems to be the least painful. And after the shot he always does a great job on cleaning without pain yet again. You can always count on Today's Dental. I would strongly recommend this place for all your dental needs, thank you all! read more

I really like the dentist, he's super nice and calm and he's a good dentist. He seems to really know his stuff, which put me at ease, and I'm usually extremely nervous about dentists. I just got my wisdom tooth and the one next to it pulled and I was in and out in 35 minutes. It didn't hurt at all. I'd recommend him to anyone. read more

I would never recommend this place to anyone on 9\2\2014 at about 10:30 pm I started to get massive pains from my front left tooth,tried to do a few things to calm it down but had no luck so I called today's dental to get the emergency number to contact a doctor the answering machine told me if this is a after hours Emergency to contact doctor Nordeen. So I called the number and Nordeen answered and I told him hi I got your number from the answering machine and explained what was going on modern replies with well what do you want me to do? Its 11 pm, so I said oh is this not the emergency number for after hours emergency he says it is but your not my patient and I don't have your file so what do you want me to do?? But what Nordeen doesn't realize is that I am one of his patients but I have only seen him one time. So I tell him well if you can't help patients maybe you guys should take your emergency number off the answering machine. He says yes what ever I will do that tomorrow. I proceed to tell him that he is being very rude and he interrupt me and say let me guess why your calling your calling to get drugs you want me to give you drugs don't you??? I tell him no that's not why I called at all I called so you could help me. He starts yelling at me what the hell do you want me to help you with why didn't you call earlier so I tell him cause my tooth didn't hurt earlier asshole. I told him tooth pain doesn't choose when its going to start hurting it just happens. So Nordeen hangs up on me so I called back and told him I was going to file a complaint against him he says what ever get a good attorney and do what ever you want nothing is going to happen to me. And hung up on me again. So I receive a letter in the mail saying our doctor (nordeen) received a call from you on 9\2\14 around 11pm stating you were in pain he had instructed you to call the office in the morning to be seen to Take Care Of Your needs. He was unable to prescribe you any pain medication because he did not have access to your medical records at that point I became angry and made threatening remarks are office is unable to help you any more because of this behavior. Let me point out again I never once asked for pain meds and let me tell you why I didn't ask for any I am on a pain management contract through my doctor for my bad back so I already had pain medicine that I had already had taken and the pain was still bad that's why I called. I called for help not meds. I never told him that cause I didn't feel it was nessasery cause I didn't want drugs I wanted help. Let me tell you I would never recommend this mean rude animal to anybody I wish you could have heard how he talked to a poor patient in pain and in need of his help. It was the worst I have ever been treated he treated me like I was a junky wanting drugs when all I wanted was his help. I will be filling a complaint with the board of dentistry. NORDDEN IS A BAD DENTIST AND THE ONLY REASON I CHECKED ONE STAR IS CAUSE IT MADE ME CHECK AT LEAST ONE IF IT WAS UP TO ME I wouldn't HAVE CHECKED ANY. read more
