I have stayed here twice now. Once in an RV with an older friend and once van/tent camping with my kids. We had a wonderful experience both times. The grounds are very rustic and quaint. It's an amazing, natural and private environment. The short walk from the campground is beautiful well-kept and well-lit with small lights in the bushes next to the trail. The Hot Springs are clean, beautiful and relaxing. I love the location right on the river as we spent one afternoon soaking in the hot interspersed with cold dips in the river. The kids loved floating down the river through the small Rapids and getting out at the Hot Springs where they could warm up for a couple minutes before repeating the process! I had a great stay at this campground last year in June but not this time. Last year, I called to make reservations and Rocky, the owner, said just come on up, "We always have room for a tent." Rocky wasn't there the whole weekend, there's no cell service so I asked another camper where to pay. I put the money under the door of the office as the camper advised. I needed to find a safe place to wait while a restraining order kicked in against my husband. I thought this place would be a perfect, safe hideaway. I was wrong. This year, after checking that it was still open, I just drive on up. I arrived this past Friday at 8 p.m. and see the open sign out in front of campground. I pull in, go up to office, nobody and the campground completely empty except one small rv. I put up my tent, soak in the hot springs and enjoy a sound sleep. Next morning, all is well and I leave the campground about 9:30 a.m. to hike. I return about 5:30 and awhile after a woman comes up to me starts rudely scolding me for coming in so late. I say "Are you Rocky?" Since she didn't even introduce herself. I calmly respond that I arrived when her campground was open and left money under the door. She kept going on about how busy her place is. Again, the entire place was vacant except one rv. I don't want to engage in any hostility so I offer to pay her for the next two nights and hand her the money directly. I didn't see her again until she came up to me Sunday evening. More rudeness that left me shaking. Then again while myself and another person who just came for the springs. She started yelling at the other person so I left and walked to my tent. About an hour later and I was asleep, she yells "I want you out of here in the morning." I have no idea what her problem was and don't care. She terrorized me. I can see why the campground was empty. read more

This is a little gem of a spot. We went when there was a really good band playing, they were awesome, the setting was magical and everyone was so very nice! There was wine, beer, food and dinner. We didn't have time for the hot springs, but they are magical too. I just love this place! Thanks Rocki for making this the best kept secret in the canyon. read more

This was the second time we've stayed here as a group of RV'ers. First time was memorial day 2019. We had 3 trailers. The grounds are beautiful and the RV sites are great. Rocki is an amazing woman who accommodated us with welcoming arms. The hot springs are just a short walk from camp and are divided into 2 separate pools with 2 smaller pools below which aren't as hot. Amazing place and great atmosphere. This place is a beautiful spot to stay and soak. There are nice camp and RV sites and it has amazing tastefully renovated cabins, bar and garden space with a stage and tables. The proprietor, Rocky, hosts musical events on a stage in the garden area. During my stay, she was very friendly and helpful. The hot springs are a few minutes walk from the camping and garden area. The pool is large, pretty well built with decent seating, and it's a stone's throw from the river for quick cold dips. The water smells slightly of sulfur and the inlet has no valve so it is constantly gurgling, but these qualities are barely noticable in an otherwise wonderful setting for a hot soak. read more

R&R RV Park and Father River Hot Springs, This was a wonderful place to camp and to enjoy the hot springs within 50 ft of camping. A few things that I liked the hot springs were just right in temperature not to hot like some of them so we could stay in longer. The other thing I liked was bathing suits are requested during the day but not at night, but again they are optional. This is a fisherman's haven, the river is right their trout jumping out of the water. Truly it was a gorgeous place just know that the spots can book up due to the perfect location and the springs, so call in advance to make sure you get a spot. Full service hook ups were great hot water, clean, portal potting's for tent campers. You can't beat the price and the beauty...just do it get away and relax... read more

So let me start by saying the campsite was quaint and the surroundings were pretty but we were met by a rather rude host (a woman named Rocky) who snipped at us throughout our weekend. We arrived at 9:40pm Friday evening after reserving a campsite via text, we were not informed that arriving after 9:00pm was too late for her. I would have been completely understanding of her crankiness upon our 9:40pm arrival had she have put somewhere that that was the rule on either the internet or our text exchanges, BUT SHE NEVER SAID ANYTHING IN ADVANCE! Update Yelp to say 9 is the cut off if you have a problem with people arriving after that time! Another hang up I had with her occurred the next morning. One member of our group texted ahead and asked what kind of payment this place takes (because that wasn't specified via text either) it's cash only, which is fine, but again, why don't you tell people that in advance? Why was it that we had to ask? So back to the morning, we walk over with our cash and need change, pretty normal request for a cash only business to have a decent amount of denominations of each common bill right? Well I guess not in this case as she seemed put out by the idea of breaking our bills for us, so we worked it out amongst ourselves so that we didn't bother her with our absurd and unreasonable request. The final annoyance of that evening came when she walked over to our camp to complain about a piece of wood sticking out of our fire. Now I get the concern here and let me say SHE DID WARN US, but we had one piece sticking out above the ring, I mean come on, is that really that terrible? Was our very light breaking of the rules worth a confrontation? Aside from those hang-ups the hot springs themselves were nice, despite the noise from the highway and trains I got a couple of good nights sleep, and found other amenities such as the porto-potties to be clean and pleasant. I can't say I would recommend this place to people but I'm glad I went and may return again some day under the right circumstances. read more

Feather River Hot Springs is a privately owned hot springs, RV park, and plant nursery. The location is in the gorgeous Feather River valley. We didn't stay in the RV park which seemed to have about 8 spots and be nice enough and is just steps from the river. The hot spring use is $5 per person to those not staying at the RV park. The hot spring is located down a short easy path to the river bank in a undeveloped area surrounded by native plants. The springs have been piped into a small outdoor cement pool about 10 feet by 8 feet which is divided into two sub pools one with clear water and one with calcium rich white colored water. The clear water pool had strong sulfur odor while we were there (note: we were there during a drought so it might be different other years). The pool is located about 15 feet from the river edge and the hot water empties right into the river. The river is swim-able and it is delightful to jump into after the hot water. The pool temp was about 102 when we were there. As the pool is quite small they ask that you call ahead to find out if others are coming as they limit the number of guests. Children are welcome during the day. read more

OUch..... Reading your reviews, I met the same fate, but with kids in tow, we were terrorized by the psychopath of the hot springs.... Same voice as well "I want you out" ---quite scary, kids were upset. I finally gave in to her endless torment and told her she was a "horrible person" and was told that must happen all the time. I said, um NO. And she seemed stunned that there was not something horribly wrong with me. I have been here a few times ---the drive isn't worth the quality of the springs. Never a problem... Wow. I still feel bad telling someone they are horrible, but ummmm. Sometimes (rarely) it falls out of my mouth. It will be the one time I won't make amends intentionally. read more

My daughter & I parked our little trailer in one of the RV spots with full hook-ups and enjoyed two nights on the river in early August. The highlights are definitely the picturesque location and the hot springs on the riverbank. The river is the perfect temperature for alternating dips with the hot springs and had plenty of water flowing in August. There are also six or so quaint cabins for rent, and the owner, Rocki, is sweet, laid-back and welcoming. The campsites themselves don't have a great view, and share a large lot with and handful of small, worn mobile homes that seemed uninhabited. The whole property, though, has a fun, funky, ramshackle, eclectic feel that might appeal more to freer spirits - don't expect valet towel service at the hot springs, rather a footpath lined with wild blackberry and some plastic furniture at the springs.
