Cheyanne has been with us since our first fur baby and she has been with us through 3 furry family members having gone to heaven. We've seen Cheyanne pre-mommy hood and we see her beautiful self now! She's really like family to us. She understands not only what our dogs need but she tailors her practice to what makes our dogs comfortable. Our Fozzy boy had bilateral hip and knee problems and Cheyanne made sure to position him so he could get comfy. Yesterday I took Kloe to this groomer..it was her first time getting a bath and haircut which she desperately needed. She's a 4 year old Australian shepherd who I adopted 2 years ago. Garrett did the honors and what a fantastic job he did! Her long, thick fur was beautifully trimmed, her coat is so silky now. I wasn't sure how she'd take to being groomed but the reports were she did fine. read more

I have been brining my dogs here for quite a few years and I absolutely love the staff . I have a new seven month old Yorkie (Saint) that I have been bringing since he was about four months. I brought my senior long-haired kitty Mimi to (I believe her name is) Cheyenne with pretty bad matting. We came in very anxious and staff was very kind and reassuring. They took Mimi back quickly and I went to Starbucks and got some coffee and hung out and they were done within an hour and a half. I didn't have high hopes because I know how difficult it is to shave mats close to the skin on cats, and that my kitty had really delicate skin, but Cheyenne did an amazing job and took on the task and did not shame me or make me feel bad for the difficult work. I am so thankful of what an amazing job she did and Mimi was too. She was able to remove all the mats without damaging my kitty, gave her a nice cut, and clipped her nails too! Today was my last visit doing business with Featherer Pet after 7 years!!! Every third Saturday of the month my dog participants in the Solano County Library Read-to-A-Dog program that encourages young kids first through fourth grade the joy of reading. As a trained therapy dog it's important I ensure she is well groomed and clean the day of or before any event. We scheduled our June 14th appointment at 12 noon on May 17th at the end of that grooming appointment. Fast forward to Thursday, June 6 I receive a text message my appointment was moved from June 14th to June 18th because the groomer now has a doctor's appointment on June 14. I called and explained that June 18th is not an option and to find out what else is available prior to June 15 even if all that could be done is trim the nails if they can't complete the full groom. Was told they would reach out when they found something else. On June 9th received a text with the option of 9:30 am or 12:30 pm on June 12th, I chose 12:30 because I had a 9 am conference call scheduled that I couldn't re-schedule. Well it's June 12 and I'm on the conference when I receive a call on my personal phone from Featherer Pet stating I missed my 9:30 appointment. I stopped everything I was doing, ended the conference call and drove immediately to Featherer Pet so that I could at least get her nails trimmed. To add insult to injury, I was told by the groomer "I was 40 minutes late" for an appointment time I did not agree too. You can clearly see in the text message I requested a 12:30 appointment but given 9:30. Seems what staff told the groomer carries more weight than the customer and the customer is wrong. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like being told by a business you have supported for years that you are no longer welcome because you cancelled an appointment two days in advance. This is my second negative review of this place (yes, I did go back). I had an appointment and needed to cancel it -- two days in advance. I was told that since I was cancelling "so late," (two days ahead of time is late?) that I would be charged $50 late fee. Nowhere is this posted, nobody told me about a "late" fee and an updated cancellation policy pertaining to the holidays. I was told by the snippy receptionist that I would not be able to make any future appointments since I refused to pay the late fee. This is insane and IMHO, no way to run a local business. All this on top of the fact that previously, the groomer had nicked my senior guy and he was bleeding when I picked him up. It turned out that he needed stitches and I never came after them, didn't make them pay the vet bill. On top of all this, the place is chaotic, loud and noisy, and my little girl, when she was alive, was always nervous when I picked her up. I'd never heard of them, so I looked through the Yelp reviews and sure enough, lots of negative reviews for cutting or "nIcking" dogs making them bleed while grooming. Upon arrival I found very friendly staff, but also very busy. They told me it would be two hours for two dogs and that they would contact me which they never did. I will never support this business again. My family experienced repeated anti-Black treatment by both the receptionist and a groomer here. The scrutiny and judgment they have for Black customers is totally different from the way they address white customers. I'm typically the one who drops off and takes our dogs in, and haven't had a problem. But when I asked my husband to stop in, they treated him totally differently. They jumped on my husband when he showed them a rabies certificate saying it was expired, when it was not (still had a week on it and we had a vet appointment scheduled), and didn't feel the need to apologize for their accusatory rude tone. I (wrongly) gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking it may have been a bad day or a one-off. Then, I regretfully referred my mother-in-law to bring her dog here, and she was barely acknowledged, and treated with condescension and complete lack of empathy. The groomer barely greeted her, despite being a new client, and didn't take the time to have a conversation about the dog's needs or options for the grooming. All she offered was a "summer cut", with no explanation of what that was. And then, rather than offering compassionate advice when our dog was found to have tape worms, she received the blunt news by phone when told the dog with ready to be picked up - no comfort or reassurance whatsoever. They made her feel shamed rather than offering any support. And when she rightfully decided to give a modest tip for the subpar service, she was publicly called out in front of the whole room. Their dehumanizing treatment of a sweet and kind elder in this way is absolutely reprehensible. I am sickened by the trauma and pain racist acts like these have, and will never let them go unspoken. Where do I begin with the arrogance of the woman who groomed my sweet-well behaved Angel? I brought him in with an appointment and let them know about his ear infection. It was bad. I had gone to my vet 6 times over the last two months. I had ear packs, ear cultures, meds, you name it. But, my groomer left and I needed my baby groomed. I was told I could come in. I am, by the way, a wonderful dog mom! These people humiliated me in front of other clients! After he was finished, they brought him out and before I could see him, I was bombarded by two very young ladies (maybe 15-16) as rude as they could be asking immediately for a tip before I even had a chance to see him! Not once, not twice, but on and on as if they were taught something to say and couldn't stop until they received a tip. COACHED! And, obnoxious! When they brought him out the groomer began to yell at me in front of other clients, embarrassing me to no end! Then, Karen came out screaming that he needed a culture then! I guess she's a veterinarian on the side. I've had that done prior to coming in and he was on an ear pack and 2 meds. They never let me get a word in edgewise. It was a comedy in here, with the two gals yelling at me for a tip and the mean gals just yelling at me! Nobody stopped to ask, they just ranted. He's with a Dermatologist in Walnut Creek now, doing great! Not that you care! By the way, you never suggested that. Hmm? Wonder why that is?? Know it alls? You know you might try finding out a bit about your client before you berate and insult them while asking for a tip. (that's rich)! I had just gone through an especially difficult period in my life; And, you two decide now was a great time to gang up on a person. Lesson to these rude "know it alls", my animal was found to have severe allergies and is seeing a special dermatologist in Walnut Creek where the waiting list is two months. Not that YOU care, he's doing much better. Never, and I mean NEVER, berate your customer because you think you know it all!! You don't!! I have no idea why people come here at all! You have your favorites and have them convinced you're who you portray yourself to be. You must have had paid some of these people to review with 5 stars! Yikes, you don't even deserve ONE! I was yelled at and simultaneously asked for a tip before I could look for cuts as he's had the time I brought him before! I mean gashed, not a nick here and there. I mean the groomer was negligent or quite possibly just angry at life! I came to this conclusion after seeing the real "Mean Girls" in action! I was upset for months after being treated that way; Especially, on the heals of being diagnosed with an additional Chronic illness and the death of my mom! They ask for all vaccines and really do care. It's a trip, I know, but they won't gash your baby because they're either inept or just plain mad at the world. Now, I know that I'll get some trite three-cent-word response stating that you're a business not a psychologist office; But, that's kind of the point, isn't it? You take care of your clients, they'll take care of you! I've been bum rushed off of the phone because you don't want to hear "our same ol' story" that you've heard from everyone else? Right? Not many groomers are great with Huskies because of their double coat and we have for years tried several different groomers, always leaving a bit disappointed. Well that's not the case here! I became a customer of this business at the start of this year when I adopted my terrier mix from the shelter. Like most, I was intrigued by the reviews. I first brought my little one to Cheyenne (apologies for the possible incorrect spelling). She was GREAT! She really groomed like I requested and I never had any instances with her. However, she wasn't there one time and I got Shana. She was ok and I scheduled the next appointment for the sake of not switching so much since my rescue has high anxiety. This last time was the worst! First, she hurriedly came to get my little one and barely stuck around to hear what I wanted done. Came back in the hour when called and she met me outside, put her in my arms and I hardly had a chance to look at the work she'd done. They came out to charge me at the same time. They'd raise the price and didn't even tell me prior to taking her in. I always tip them generously, between $15 to $20, on top of their high price. When I got home I noticed my baby has cuts in her bottom (fully removed fur), and nicks on her neck and by her tail. They didn't cut evenly. Plus they totally missed trimming the hair on her tail. So many things just wrong. I called as soon as I could but they closed so I left a message. The next day the receptionist called me, non apologetic and even said she hoped I'd find a better groomer. I was so taken back! I was so upset that she thought I wouldn't give them another shot at making it right and just dismissed me as a customer. I called the following week when I found more things (plus they're closed on Monday's and this time Ashley answered and she was at least nice and listened to my frustrations. She left me know she'd speak with the owners. They never called me. The groomer never called me. This business clearly doesn't care about losing customers because they know that they'll have others. Like a rotating door. Customers are just numbers. I rather drive far to a place where my business is appreciated and my little one is properly and safely groomed than give this place any more of my hard earned money. Never had a problem paying their price but now, they've lost my business for good. Please check your pets thoroughly before leaving this business. I'm currently dog-sitting and pretty brand new to the whole doggie world in general. My only hope of finding a groomer was Yelp and here I am... giving a 5-star rating. So first of all, thank you, Yelp! My parents' dog, Leia is a shih-tzu/poodle mix and is currently 1 year old. I'm not too familiar with her grooming experience on a regular basis but it's needless to say I was nervous to bring her anywhere. I wasn't nervous for Leia, more for whoever was going to groom her. She's very hyper and loves to give doggie kisses. I was worried she would give Suzanne a hard time. Which at the end of the visit it was confirmed that she is hard to groom. Suzanne was very honest (which I totally appreciate), patient and gracious about it. She gave us great advice on what we can do at home to make her future visits easier (for everyone). My husband and I couldn't be happier with the results. Leia's hair is trimmed and super soft. Suzanne did a great job trimming the hair around her face and eyes which makes us so happy because we can see Leia's adorable face and I'm sure Leia appreciates being able to see! Her nails have been trimmed and we are thrilled to no longer hear the click-clack of doggie paws on our hardwood floor. A bath, anal gland and ear cleaning were also part of the doggie "me-day". Since we are first-timers at Featherer (or any dog grooming place period) I have no point of reference when it comes to prices but quality of service always reflects cost in any scenario. Our fur-sister was totally worth the cost considering the amount of time they put into her (approx. 2.5 hrs) and the fact that Leia wasn't the easiest to work with. Every single employee here is so genuine and nice. I have an 85lbs white German shepherd who was getting a little yellow because I hadn't washed him or brushed him in so long. When I picked him up, the groomer informed me that he did well. They used a certain shower head to loosen the hair on his coat and washed him then cleaned his ears, clipped his nails, and cleaned his anal glands. Didn't know groomers do that but hey! It comes in the package. This place is extremely affordable. The pets that do live in the shop are friendly as well as every employee.
