All my questions was answered. Because I received a letter in the mail stating that my account will be closed. So that's why I had to call to find out that that it was a scam. Please when you receive letters in the mail don't call the number on the letter. Look up the number. And it wasn't much but it's mine and thie account was opened for years. Thanks to the representative that help me on the phone. And save my account and told me to disregard the letter and she couldn't see why I received this letter. read more

I received a text notification from FedChoice about a huge withdrawal that I did not make. I immediately logged into my account and called the customer service number. A representative answered right away and let me know that a deposit in the same amount was inadvertently received into my account and the withdrawal was a correction. I appreciate the immediate notification and also the ability to speak to a CSR in a timely fashion just in case it was nefarious activity on my account. read more

No stars!! ZERO. They are the damn worst. They close at 4 so you can't speak to anyone after 4 about your account. Hopefully errors in your bank acct won't require urgent assistance. It's only YOUR money right?? Months ago someone was supposed to call me to discuss two separate services I wanted to enroll in. These were options that were offered to me when I visited the branch. They never called!! I lost my bank card and requested another. All of their systems to print new ones in all locations DO NOT WORK. I requested a new card to be mailed to me, took 11 days and they didn't even send me a damn PIN number. I was told to drive to this Lanham location to reset it. I drove out here and THE MACHINE DOES NOT WORK. I try to change my direct deposits from work to my other credit union and my job gave me a paper check during this transition. I deposit it electronically, and was told by credit union that funds would be available the same day after 4, they were not. But I couldn't get anyone by phone because their customer service closes at 4! So I drive out to Lanham again. If I could give them negative 5,000 stars I would. The only positive feature is that they have a free coin counter, but hell that's probably broke too though. read more

Professional user friendly website. I'm olde skool and tend to shy away from technology. But Fed Choice website was very easy to use and communicate with them. The loan associate was very patient with helping me navigate how to upload documents. After being approved they were able to answer my questions with clear language to help me better understand my options. I will continue to do business with them. read more

I would give this credit union no stars if I could. It's almost impossible to get in touch with anyone. Once I did, I got three different answers from three people working in the same area. My account went inactive because I didn't use it. I was unaware until the credit union took all of my money in fees. Not only was my money gone, they said I owed them additional money for fees. They wouldn't tell me how to close the account, they just kept telling me how to reactivate the account. They is a reason it gets such lousy reviews. Don't put your money here. read more

If zero stars were an option I would give them 0. By far the worst banking institution I have ever been a member of. High fees and do not even offer competitive rates for loans. I have been a member of 5 other credit unions and 12 banks in my lifetime and I can honestly say this is the only one I have dealt with that I have nothing good to say about. I have been trying to close my account for 3 months after being told i would be charged an inactivity charge and can't seem to get any help. I have spoke to people there and was told they would get back with me. With no call back. I have emailed received an email back that someone would call. Nothing. They wonder why i have inactivity on my account. A hell of a way to run a business. read more

The worse! Issue #1 - We started out ok over 6 years ago. I was able to refinance my car and get a better rate with them. I was on an automatic pay plan and when I left my company to perform independent work, I needed to stop the automatic payment plan, as the company I partnered with issued paper checks. So, for someone who has never, ever been late with my payments, even with the new paper method, I was informed that because my selection to stop the auto pay method was not processed, my payment accrued interest & was considered late. Add that to your CR. Go figure? Not only was I not notified, it was entered on my credit report. (That's how I found out) Issue #2 - I stop using my accounts over 3 years ago. I had 1 item being drafted directly from that old account and would periodically deposit funds to cover the quarterly payment for insurance. 2 years ago (2015) I changed the account for the bank drafts to no longer come out of my Fedchoice account. A modification was made to my insurance (Added a rider) and the insurance company inadvertently made a withdrawal from my Fedchoice account instead of where my insurance was currently being drafted. Fedchoice sent me a letter (1) letter stating that my account was overdrawn & I had to pay the balance. Unsure why it was overdrawn, I called them to receive an explanation. I explained to the customer service rep that I received this letter stating that I owed $136 for an overdraft. She explained to me where the draft came from and that I should contact them in the interim to ensure that they would not continue to present drafts against that account. (No problem) Then by the end of the conversation, she stated that I owed $166. I explained that I have the only notification was sent to me, and I'll pay it in accordance with the instruction she gave me. (Send in a check or money order) I did that right away, but, for the amount ($136) along with a copy of the only notice that I received to validate what they said I owed. I also stated to them that I was ok with them closing the account - as I no longer use it. Well little did I know; or should say discovered - is that they charged off my account as a collection and entered it on my credit report. I did not owe them anything. I received the single notification from them in regards to a mistake on behalf of a vendor and immediately rectified the situation. This is the 2nd time they added something to my credit report for something that seems to be pretty clear cut in regards to what happened, and they willie-nillie add a "0" balance, "Date of last payment - unknown"; Monthly payment - $0"; "Payment Frequency - Not reported", "Worst Pay Status - Unknown", charge off to my credit report. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Now I have to fight with them to take it off my report. Ridiculous!!!!!! 1 star is too much. read more

FedChoice has been my credit union for years. The staff are extremely responsive and their website much better than the other banks I work with. The communication from this credit union has been outstanding. As to the rates, I can only speak to the auto loans, which were competitive to other banks, but markedly less than a dealer had offered me. It's a great institution. read more

Usually I don't like to post reviews online but when I came around a negative post about FedChoice Federal Credit Union I felt obligated to say something. Fistful, the women who post that negative comment is mostly writing about restaurants... how much she paid for food and drinks, how much good time she had. My guess, she ran out of money by spending and partying, just saying. I have been a member with FedChoice for almost 5 years and now have 2 accounts with them, I signed up my daughter and planning to open account for my son. I want my kids to learn the right way what is good banking business supposed to be. The rates are very low. About year ago I bought a new car and financed with FedChoice at 2.49% rate. My application process was very easy and quick. FedChoice earned my trust and now I have couple other products with them, like Holiday Club and Share Certificates. Trust me, I don't sign up for anything blindly. I am a hard working professional and experienced internet/web user. I research a lot before making a commitment. I have no idea why somebody will post negative review if they run out of money and got charged a $35 fee. All banks will do that. Also, they are keeping up with technology. I love that they have Mobile App. I can deposit checks to my account, I can transfer money to my daughter's account. They will never push you to sign up for anything.
