I joined October 2025 with a lot of hope but despite going religiously 2x per week and dieting for the first two months without success but with extreme hunger with first month calorie deficit then hard core only protein the second month, then just eating less already disappointed. Told managers not working but still no improvement/results. Everyone I saw on my weekly sessions also looked the same to me. Only the trainers look really muscular. My goal was only to lose 5lbs and get firmer and look good. Disappointed and in despair I switched to Tigerjoo who promised results within 1 month and I have lost 4lb and one and a half inch waist and firming up within two months. read more

Honestly I'm not a gym person! I've always loved working out, but preferred to do it at home because the gyms I've joined in the past seemed overly focused on weight loss, appearance, and really were just icky places where I never enjoyed spending my time! Last year while recovering from a back injury, I decided to book a few sessions with a personal trainer to help me get back into exercising safely. A friend recommended Virtuo, and I was happy to find out it was a smaller gym. It immediately felt welcoming and friendly. I worked out with Keith and enjoyed it so much that my "few sessions" turned into 8 months of training with him. Keith was knowledgeable, supportive, and always encouraging. He helped me rebuild my strength and confidence while always being mindful of my back. He was also genuinely fun to talk to, which made every workout way more enjoyable! One thing I especially appreciated was that the staff never assumed my goal was to lose weight or change my appearance. The focus was always on getting stronger and healthier. Even my nutrition calls with Sarita focused on building sustainable habits and eating for energy rather than calorie restriction or chasing some number on the scale. If your goals do include fat loss or looking amazing, they can absolutely help with that (they are all in incredible shape themselves!) but they will never make you feel pressured into something that doesn't align with your goals. You'd expect a room full of fit trainers to be intimidating, but somehow here it's the opposite. I never once walked into Virtuo feeling intimidated or walked out feeling self-conscious. The owner Brandon and his entire staff are some of the kindest people I've met in LA. There's a real sense of community, everyone cheering each other on, genuinely good vibes, and lots of laughs. Two years later, and I'm back with an update--in case it's useful to see what the story looks like after the initial euphoria wears off. Short version: the euphoria is increasing. I'm still nowhere near a 'gym rat,' and yet I've now averaged two sessions a week here since fall 2023--and I'm genuinely eager to keep that streak going... indefinitely. What's notable is that the vibe I caught early on, and really appreciated, has not denatured in the slightest. It's still the same thoughtful, client-centric attention and sane, personalized training routine, day in and day out. Same emphasis on form, progression, and not manufacturing credibility artificially. These guys don't chase fads or Instagram nonsense; they're truly committed to sustainable strength training and real results. I'm still training with Jonny, and I'm torn. On the one hand, he's outstanding and deserves every bit of praise. On the other hand, I don't want you people ruining my life by overbooking him and taking over my gym. (It's mine.) So yes--Jonny is fantastic. You should absolutely find someone like him. But maybe find your own person? You should totally sign up here because it's literally the best, but also stay away? Feel me? Kidding aside, Jonny is calm, attentive, deeply dialed in, and one of the coolest humans around. Sessions are intentional from start to finish--no distractions, no phoning it in, no wasted time. He's exceptional at finding that narrow band where the work is hard but never demoralizing. I always leave feeling perfectly challenged, perfectly spent, and--somehow--looking forward to the next session. (Did I just write those words?) Virtuo Fitness is a total class act across the board. I did a lot of research before joining a gym in Los Angeles, and I'm so glad I ended up at Virtuo. Here are the reasons why (list not exhaustive): 1. I have never been a gym or sports person -- I was the type to walk the mile in PE class. So I didn't really have the foundational knowledge (nor the confidence) to work out by myself or in a big group class. Virtuo has been a phenomenal place to learn this stuff from scratch. It's much more private than most gyms and the trainers are very knowledgeable, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. 2. You know how in LA, a lot of "trainers" are actually just aspiring actors/models? That's not the case here. The trainers at Virtuo are career trainers with real expertise. Because I have arthritis and a leg length discrepancy and bad knees, this has been so crucial for me. Brandon has been careful to choose exercises that don't cause me any joint pain, and even better, exercises that have helped improve my balance A LOT. 3. Virtuo is not a miserable boot camp type environment. The trainers definitely push me beyond my own perceived limitations and comfort zone, but in an manageable way where I've been able to make steady progress. Brandon is especially great at distracting me with jokes and interesting conversation which make those 30 second mountain climber reps go by much faster. If you're looking for a "scene" kind of gym like Equinox, this might not be the best fit for you. But if you want help from experts to improve your workouts and achieve consistent (and pretty fast) results, Virtuo is a fantastic choice and worth every penny. read more

Sarita upped my game by pushing me to the next level. A level a didn't know I could reach. She's amazing! Knows her physiology and her technique is impeccable. Keith is fantastic and I find his training style really aligns with what I need out of my gym experience.
