    Ice Plunge outside of RPT
    Kai C.

Beautiful workout space with green turf inside, lots of mirrors, ultra modern look and feel - lots of shiny surfaces, glass, they are known for their personal training services here and all the trainers are in tip top shape. They often host events with other companies such as ice plunge, farmers market, outdoor sauna and group classes. They have theragun massage guns here, foam rollers, lots of booty bands for leg workouts, slam balls etc. It's usually pretty easy to find street parking since there are residential areas nearby. The vibe and age group are all pretty young too around 18-40 all very good looking people here

    I feel great!

I've been training here for over 1 year consistently. Rena is the best trainer I've had and I'm mentally stronger and in best physical shape of my life and I turn 35 this year! Thank you Rena!!!!!

I have certain instructors I personally love and will go out of my way to attend their classes, but I don't think you can go wrong! And the lavender towel at the end of class is soooo nice! It's hard to find a good yoga place in LA that isn't intimidating and is welcoming to people who don't look like the "stereotypical" yoga goddess. I love coming to class and seeing all the diversity in the room sweating it out together - that's what yoga should be about. Shout out to Gabby who's my favorite instructor there! Her playlists are fire and the chisel workouts kick my butt. I feel strong after leaving each class!

She was so charming and friendly and really made everyone comfortable. She made the class!!! She was a wonderful teacher who made learning easy and enjoyable. I would love to come back but it is quite expensive. Probably good for a treat! The overall studio is very pretty and aesthetic. The aerial room was a bit tight but did the job! Loved the openness of everything. The entrance and signing into the class was a bit messy and hectic, the entrance was under construction and the man at the front handing out the waivers and such seemed a bit overwhelmed. Didn't feel super welcoming. Streamlining and organizing this section would def help put clients more at ease since I was starting to doubt the class in the beginning.-BE SURE TO BRING A YOGA MAT! Otherwise you'll have to pay $4 to rent one. -The overall class was 10 minutes of warmup, 30 min lesson, and then 10 minutes of free time to record and practice what you just learned. -The AERIAL DANCE INTRO CLASS was a great class for those who have never done aerial or those who haven't done it in years. We learned 3-4 positions. - Paid street parking or limited lot parking ( where ABOUT TIME CAFE is , free during the day) - bathroom available - Locker room on the side - They have two cute dogs in the studio - Recording isn't allowed till the end.

It doesn't really make sense but OK, already vibe ruined but i took the aerial 1 class. The man followed me around asking where i got my yoga mat and even when i was leaving asked if i am taking my yoga mat and where it is etc- very annoying, bizarre and frankly off putting as hell. he was anything but welcoming so i suggest you remove him from whatever he's doing in the front. never want to come back. apparently you have to pay for rental yoga mat. But even before I get to the class, the entry entryway and the vibe of the whole place is off because it's so worn out. i'm scared the fabric will fall off the hook and it's extremely smelly and overall unstable and worn out looking- not sure if i can trust the hanging to support me but that's the attorney in me talking. everything i see seems like a liability, especially their old hooks and the way the instructor walks around with a huge ladder in a crowded class. Next the class itself- instructor spent majority of the time making us stretch and adjusting our fabric. it was such a waste of time. don't do it if you're trying to get a workout in.

This training was incredibly transformative, and a huge part of that was Lou and the experience of working in his beautiful studio, Astro Gong. From the moment we stepped into the space, you could feel the intention behind it. The studio itself is stunning -- grounding, expansive, and filled with an energy that immediately invites presence and depth. Being surrounded by his collection of gongs and instruments created an atmosphere that felt both sacred and inspiring. Lou is a true gong master. His knowledge, passion, and reverence for the instrument are undeniable. Watching him play and learning directly from him ignited something powerful within me -- a deep desire to connect more fully with the gong and explore its potential. He teaches not just technique, but relationship -- how to listen, feel, and allow the instrument to speak. The experience inside his studio alone was worth it. It felt immersive, intentional, and deeply moving. I left feeling inspired, expanded, and profoundly grateful.

I highly recommend trying and combining each instructor and the various classes provided at yoga circle for a wholistic practice. The three very unique teachers that have distinguished styles are Knekoh, Jacqui, and Rob. I love all three and each teacher serves a precise purpose to my yoga practice. Knekoh for my mindful meditation, Jacqui for a concentration of the body, and Rob for spiritual awakening. The other instructors are also great and are generally a hybrid of these three. If you're up for the challenge, source Yoga Circle as your place to complete the 200 hour yoga teacher training. I was in the 2020 class with Knekoh and Rob. Yoga Circle did a tremendous job at switching from real life training to virtual training. The quickness of the transition was impressive. Both Knekoh and Rob are incredibly dedicated to their students and their own practice. Both have polar yet complementing energies that make the TT special.

It's so easy to hate on DTLA. Young, crowded, and seemingly in the midst of a perpetual identity…read morecrisis, the question that usually arises is about community. Is there really a sense of community in DTLA? Or is it just a frenzied mass of developers fighting for parking lots to turn into loft apartments, businesses fighting for customers, and people who recently moved to the area fighting for...goth ice cream? Until recently, my answer would have been no. No, I didn't believe that there was a sense of community in DTLA. Not like you'd experience in Brooklyn, or Portland or elsewhere. A yoga class I took yesterday at Yoga Circle has changed my mind. A friend and I went to YCD for a Sunday evening class. Steven was the teacher, and his calm demeanor was instantly welcoming. I got settled in and noticed something different: Steven was doing all of the moves he was instructing the 7-person class to do himself. Apparently this is how they approach things at Yoga Circle. And it really helped me understand the poses. I'm a visual learner and knowing that you can watch the teacher practicing makes it unnecessary to find someone to watch in the class. I found that I could go deeper into my own practice because of this. The room was pretty special too. I'm generally quite skeptical of any comparisons between DTLA and New York, but between the high ceilings, worn but wonderful floors and the fire escape view out of a high window, I really felt like I was in the bottom floor of a building in Crown Heights, with the city swirling outside. The class was anything but easy: 90 minutes, about 40% beyond my experience level and rather fast-paced, but I think I did pretty well. I'm sore today but I feel energized and I slept incredibly soundly. Steven, thank you for such a great class, and Yoga Circle Downtown, thank you for creating such a great space to practice. I'll be back. There is a sense of community at Yoga Circle -- and from what I've recently experienced, in DTLA -- that I'd love to be a part of again. Side note -- For people who think that they can't afford yoga classes, apparently Yoga Circle has a donation-based / sliding scale system.

It says on the website for the yoga studio that there's a parking lot a block or so away but being from out of town and not having a lot of buffer time I didn't want to be late to the class so I risked the ticket. The class was about half full and I appreciated that the teacher always gave modifications for people who either were not able to get into a full posture or wanted to go further in the posture. I did think that the studio floor could've used a sweeping, but that's what my mat is for I guess!
