I've been a customer of Federal Landscaping for almost a year. Over this time. the service has consistently declined to the point that I contemplated buying a mower just to cover for them when they didn't show up. This summer (2018), the service got so bad that they had to subcontract out to another company. This company "expertly" cut my lawn down all the to the soil in several places, mowed the overall lawn so short that it dried up and burned, and spilled gasoline in several places when refuelling their equipment. When speaking with the owner, Chris, it is always one excuse after another. I finally resolved to cancel my service only to be charged a duplicate invoice right after notification of my intent to cancel. This was three days after paying the prior invoice *and* despite no service being performed in that three day window. When requesting documentation to clarify the double bill, the owner simply replied "I was there and I saw it done" then threatened legal action. Hogwash. In summary: bad service, bad manager, bad experience. Do yourself a favor and find a more professional lawn care provider. read more

I have been a customer of Federal Landscaping Services now for 2 year and I can't say enough good things about them. The owner and crew are friendly, reliable, trustworthy and meticulous about everything they do. The yard look professionally cut with striped lines that you would see on a baseball field or golf course. The edging is done in a Vertical cut which gives the best defined appearance of the landscape beds and never a blade of grass is left on any walkway. They come regularly every week and the owner always ask how they are doing and asks if there is anything they can do to improve service. He is top notch!! All of the services that Federal Landscaping offers comes with the same type of detailed oriented and care. I trust them 100% and would highly recommend them to anyone that wants superior service at a very respectable price. read more

Federal Landscaping sent out direct mail advertisements in February 2014 touting $20 for townhouse mowing service. Sure, who wouldn't want to save between $5 to $20 that other vendors charge more for, in addition to no contracts and pay as you go plan? After asking a lot of questions to see if there was any catch, I expressed interest in participating in the upcoming mowing season. Their response was that they would be in touch "in a few weeks", so I went ahead and cancelled with my existing mowing service to provide fair notice. Fast forward to mid April -- because the lawn is already starting to look long, I begin to wonder why Federal hadn't contacted me yet? Typically a vendor should send out information about start dates, schedule, billing info, available services and costs, etc. well in advance, so I inquired about it via email. Federal ignored my questions and merely replied: "Looks like the weather has broken. We'll be out this week." Broken weather due to a single rainy day on 4/15? I then reply: "OK, but that doesn't really answer my question about further information (i.e. mowing schedule, frequency, fertilization plans, etc.). It seems pretty ad hoc and not too organized. I got this kind of info well in advance by my previous service." The owner then felt compelled to say he has an "MBA and a MSIS, and I don't work in ad hoc mod[sic]" and went on about how his other customers weren't ready to start service yet and he won't be pushy about it. Ummm... what? I really didn't know how to respond at that point, but 10 hours later the owner emailed me back at 3:30AM saying, "After giving your emails some further thought, I think it's best if we not move forward with our business relationship." Let it be known that I currently am not, and have never been, a paying customer of Federal Landscaping. This review merely describes my attempt to become a customer, and the interaction I had with its owner. read more

Very disappointed with Federal Landscaping. We have used them for years but they have received failed us. They stopped showing up for our weekly mowings and are not responsive at all. There is nobody to answer the calls and goes straight to VM. We have emailed Chris several times and no response. We now have to find a new company that is more reliable. read more

We have been using Federal Landscaping since we moved into our house five years ago and not only have we have been incredibly pleased with not only how beautiful our landscaping looks, but the outstanding customer service and expertise Christopher provides. He does not have an easy job, hand managing as many homes as he does, unpredictable weather conditions, (and sometimes unrealistic expectations). He is always on top of things. He delivers his services on time, and goes above and beyond for his customers and we will continue to work with him and support his business. We have used him for mowing, mulching, yard cleanup, and irrigation and always get compliments on our lawn. Last year he encouraged us to switch to a Rachio system and told us the benefits of using it and how much time, money, and resources we would save, and he was 100% correct. He also showed us the importance of sprinkler service testing and the country requirements (and potential fines and damage it can cause if not tested annually). We truly appreciate everything he and his staff do to save us time. Would 100% recommend him. He is a favorite in our neighborhood and I can see why. read more
