We will have to pay to have the tree cut down and the stump removed. Not to mention that will make our front yard unsightly. Also, when adding compost to our lawn at the end of summer, their crew added the compost so thick that it actually killed the grass in many areas. We now how many bare patches in our lawn. Then, LawnBoy did our fall cleanup when 90% of the leaves were on the trees. So, now after my husband and I have paid 2k+ for their services, we have a dying tree, a lawn with many bare spots and a yard full of leaves that we cleaned up ourselves. Don't waste your time or money with this company because they will not try to make it right when they do wrong.

The retaining wall, steps, and even the new bushes Dave selected for our mulch beds frame the pool SO nicely. They also figured out a gorgeous drainage solution for our problematic swell. Bad mistake! They ended up messing up my yard and I had to fire them. Kyle (the owner) reached back out to me at the perfect time and we decided to move forward. He was quick with responses and had reasonable, competitive prices. He had his crew finish up and add more things that the landscapers before did not finish. I asked them to put in a garden style patio, while adding mulch to the surrounding areas. The backyard is completely transformed and I can't wait to sit out there and enjoy it. The crew arrived on time every morning and worked hard everyday to finish up as much as they could. Dave and his crew came in and completely cleaned everything out. They cut new edges mulched and planted new flowers. They also changed the layout of several of the large beds to make them smaller and easier to maintain. We have 3/4 of an acre and many beds, so there was a LOT of work. Dave was exceptionally accommodating as I changed my mind on several things, even when that meant having the guys move some big heavy rocks! He was knowledgable, honest and straightforward in making suggestions and recommendations that would help to keep us on track with our budget. He and his crew were friendly and professional. They worked hard from start to finish and did a great job of cleaning up everything. I wasn't home to watch them clean the house but someone was there to supervise. I asked how many people would be sent over..there was only ONE maid sent. As SOON as I came home, I saw dust in an area where everyone goes..the kitchen! I was like nah..I can already tell that it wasn't great, but I thought to myself that maybe the inspector will look over it..nope. That inspector tore into the house. Said it "needed to be recleaned." Now dont get me wrong, the place looked ok, but not good enough for what I paid. I even had to pay overtime because it was pushing the maid(s) into overtime. .Im sure I could clean better than the service I received. BEST PART OF STORY: I was going to be charged an extra 150 from my rental property to have it recleaned! No sir! I called my rental property and told them that I will clean it myself! So I got up at the crack of dawn and went to clean it myself. Yes. I. DID. THEIR. JOB. FOR. THEM! I have been a loyal customer for three years without any issues and have always been satisfied with their service. Except for last year when they switched to new management. Last year I had them do over seeding and aeration. This is the same service they had provided to me the two previous years with one exception. This time when I received the bill it was $50.00 more then the previous year for the exact same service. This price increase was never brought up when I created the appointment and in fact when I asked the receptionist if the cost would be the same from the previous year, she stated YES. After leaving numerous messages and continuing to call for two weeks, I was finally able to resolve the issue after an hour long conversation with the office manager. No one from Alexandria Lawn Service ever returned my calls. Now, fast forward to this year. We receive a contract from Alexandria Lawn Service for lawn mowing. We did not sign the contract and called their company to cancel service. We thought this issue had been resolved by the conversation we had with the receptionist. We were wrong. Alexandria Lawn Service still came by and mowed my lawn twice. I called and spoke to the receptionist again stating that I wished to not continue service as I requested earlier on a previous call. This time she stated cancellation needed to be in writing and required 30 days notice. I asked why this was not brought up on my initial phone conversation when I called to cancel service. She did not have a response!!!! But wait, it gets better. The initial contract Alexandria Lawn Service sent for this year was for $30 a mow. This is the same contract I did not sign as I wished to cancel service. I then received a bill from Alexandria Lawn Service for the two mows at $40 a mow. Where the hell did $40 a mow come from??? I then pulled out the contract they sent me this year which was never signed and returned. If you read the fine print on the contract, it states if the service being provided changes or the price of the service changes then a new contract needs to be signed, otherwise you are automatically renewed against the contract from the previous year. Last time I checked $30 does not equal $40. Once again I have left numerous messages for Pam "office manager" with no returned calls. This is now the second time "new management" has switched prices without notification. Based on this improper billing practice and lack of communication I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for lawn service to take their business elsewhere.
