Highly recommended! Did a great job on my in-ground pool concrete deck and extremely fast. If it weren't for the rain, it would have been done in less than a week! They also did a great job coordinating with my pool renovation contractor. I got 3 quotes and they were not the lowest bidder, but I decided on them because 1) they have great reviews, and 2) after they surveyed my deck and we discussed want I wanted, I had a high degree of confidence that Bryan understood completely, 3) they could complete the job far quicker than the other bidders. My pool is approximately 40 ft x 15 ft and the deck is about 3 ft wide all around. It took one day to demo the existing concrete, one day to prep, one day to pour the concrete and one day to clean up. They did a great job, were very pleasant to work with, and I'm very pleased with the results and price I paid. Definitely 5 stars! Surprisingly, California Concrete is not based in California but in Virginia. They are not a franchise, they are a small family-owned business and only have one office and it is in Virginia. However, their concrete vehicle had their name and logo so they have the machinery and personnel to do the job. Four employees worked on my job which is the main reason it went so quickly I think. Follow-up: Bryan, upon seeing my review, says I did not pay him. Incorrect. The contracted amount was $8350. I paid all but $720. (I paid $7630.) Bryan said I approved the materials. Yes, I did. I approved the raw stone for the wall, expecting Bryan's mason to cut and lay the pieces thoughtfully and use the mortar judiciously. He did neither. Similarly, had the tiles on my porch-rise been inset with care, they would not have been splattered with white (VERY WHITE) cement. (I had to pay a tile setter to re-set and try to carefully clean them up.) Third, because Bryan cut the main line of my irrigation system and didn't tell me, this led to search-and-repair charges from my irrigation system company. Moreover, although Bryan did some sod installation because of his damage to my lawn, much of it failed because of inadequate soil preparation, and I had to hire professionals to restore my lawn. The amount I withheld was very reasonable, and I stand by my review. read more

I gave the company a call and I spoke with Bryan who proceeded to come over that same evening to give me a quote. Brian and his team did a great job demo-ing and re-paving part of our driveway, installing buried downspouts and drains, repairing brickwork, and sealing other driveway cracks. Their work helped solve some basement water intrusion issues we were experiencing. Brian is so nice and helpful, and we felt like we were in great hands. He had helpful tips for continued maintenance/care/landscaping and gave us some of the remaining materials to seal driveway and sidewalk cracks so we could keep doing this on our own for upkeep. Patios, sun decks, and pool decking with retaining walls. Nothing isn't too big for these guys. They assisted me with other odds and ends such as, placing the pool coping when they saw me struggling to get it right. Assisted me with a 8'x10'x' tanning ledge that attached to the pool. They helped me level it without me asking them. All the workers were polite and seemed to enjoy doing what they do. Brian was very professional and offered advice and knowledgeable information. Turned my junky backyard in to our "go to place". I had Bryan and his team revamp an area by a walk-out basement door. They put in a stamped concrete patio. He communicated very well. It basically took 3.5 days. Day 1 (half day) was starting to dig things out. Day 2 was finishing the forms and get ready for concrete. Day 3 was concrete. Day 4 was sealing. They cleaned up well.
