I've been going to this location for more than 10 years, and I have received excellent customer service from multiple employees.

In a world where I am constantly trying to find people capable and competent enough to fill managerial positions, when I experience excellent customer service and people who go above and beyond for customers, it really stands out. I had an experience like that Today at this FedEx location in Bucktown with an associate named Justin. I'm not sure if he was a manager or not, but if he isn't, he should be. I would love to have somebody working for me like him. I came in with a very odd item that I needed shipped- a surfboard, And he spent time helping me figure out a way to get it to Florida. I came in this morning for the first time to drop off a Fed Ex next day delivery. The lady who opened the doors @ 8 AM also helped me. She could not have been nicer. She was the most positive friendly person I have met in a long time. And not FAKE nice, really nice. She made my entire day so much better. It was fine, but then again I really didn't have a difficult job for them and no shipping; I was simply there to make copies. I was in and out within about 10 minutes. I like the way they have it set up. In my case, I emailed the documents I needed printed to their 'printandgo' email address, and printed from there. Made it fairly simple and quick. The cost was higher than expected (I'm dating myself, but I swear once upon a time copies cost like 5¢)--but I think I may have printed in color, so that may have changed things too. Obviously they'll do your shipping stuff for you here, and they've got all the regular stuff you'll find at a FedEx/UPS type store. VERY surprisingly, this location has a parking lot, which I didn't expect to find in Bucktown and makes it much more convenient. read more

Having a printing emergency while on vacation was obviously not ideal. We walked in here hoping the process wouldn't be too difficult. We were promptly greeted by a lovely associate. She asked if we needed to print anything and let us know that instead of using the desks along the wall, there was a much simpler process. We were given a business card and told to scan the QR Code. As long as the document was in our email we could send directly to a printer. Seemed too easy, but it worked. What was an inconvenience turned into a 5 minute quick fix. So happy the staff was friendly enough to ask and assist. read more

I needed to print something fast and then scan it to myself. The parking lot is small and almost always full, but there's a decent amount of street parking available. I didn't have time to mess around, so I just walked up to the desk and ask for help. The staff was so nice and super helpful. He walked me through each step and even came up and make sure everything was alright. He then even did the scanning part because he was already there. I waited at my building's front door for four hours on day 1 and waited there again for nine hours on day 2. The FedEx delivery drivers never once approached my building front door, let alone knock on the door or ring my doorbell. The FedEx ship center advised me that I'm not allowed to go pick up my package in person. That turned out to be false information. I finally had to drive 40 minutes to the FedEx center to pick up the package, which they allowed. read more

I've only printed at this location twice but I have no complaints about those experiences. I received 5-star customer service on 5/31/19. Justin J. helped me with a print order very early in the morning (around 5 or 6am). I had 5 different files that needed to be printed in various quantities and on different types of paper. I overheard that Justin's shift was almost over, but he was still patient and got all the details down. My order was completed correctly and in a timely manner -- a huge relief because I needed these items ASAP for my wedding the next day! I wouldn't hesitate to come here again, and the 24-hour(!) printing services are a huge plus for procrastinators like me. read more

No Parking despite the parking lot. Strangely you walk in and expect the place to be packed since there are so many cars. Nope. Parking spots are taken up mostly by employees and workers. They might leave a spare spot or two for customers....or if you are disabled. Bizarro!!! read more

I should have written this review August 2019 when a young man helped me with a resume printing service in the middle of the night. He went above & beyond to get the job done and my nephew got the job! He was such a sweetheart and helped me with the extra steps. A different gentleman came through a couple weeks ago. He was kind and patient as he walked me through the steps to retrieve my document on my phone which needed to be printed. I called before arriving and he greeted me with a smile and made my task effortless and I didn't feel rushed. read more

This is the slowest and worst FedEx in the city. It's only saving grace is that it's 3 blocks from my apartment and open twenty four hours. Never have I gone here and not waited in a fifteen minute line for a simple task like picking up a print order. Get an express line!!! Also, I print things here for work all the time and they are consistently messing it up so then I have to wait for them to fix it when I arrive. I wish FedEx would do something about this place, hire more competent employees and beef up the training for customer service. No one even says hi! Save yourselves and go to kinkos. I'm currently in line watching an employee, who works here, answer the phone and help these people on the phone instead of those standing in line. Get me out of here! Oh and the icing on the cake - their parking lot is a nightmare. Another update: I just asked the manager if someone could just grab my print order so I could leave and not wait in this line (going on 20 minutes) and she said nope, you have to wait. I have always found the shipping service to be really good at this location. During my last visit, the assistant manger was very patient and filled out the necessary customs forms for international shipping for me. I walked in with a pre-paid FedEx bag to return a medical test sample. I was standing in line when a female employee behind the counter (darker skinned, short hair, glasses) immediately started yelling at me while she was helping another customer at the counter. The employee was yelling at me to put the bag into a white box behind me. I assumed she meant I had to put my bag in a FedEx cardboard box - which was confusing as I already had a bag with a pre-printed label. However, what she was trying to tell me was to put the bag in the drop-off bin. I have partial hearing loss in my right ear so couldn't understand what she was initially trying to tell me. Another employee (who was nice) called me over and clarified the instructions. Whoever that other employee is should be fired for yelling at customers who are simply trying to drop off a package. The right thing to do is call the customer up to the counter anf give clear instructions vs. yelling at them while they are standing in line. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this location again. Horrible experience. read more

What do you do when you flew Spirit and don't carry a printer to print your boarding pass to go home? I was able to print my boarding flight to Chicago at home but I couldn't print my boarding pass for Dallas to go home. Couldn't check in till 24 hours in advance rule left me running around searching for a printer to print my boarding pass because I refused to give Spirit $10 to print my boarding pass at the airport. I hate that airline so much. It was my first time flying with Spirit so I was still a noob. Anyway, Fedex was the hero for that day. Nothing went right on my trip to Chicago. I felt at ease with Fedex because I was able to print my boarding pass for $2 instead of paying Spirit $10. Thank you for rescuing me that day. read more

My Kafkaesque experience at Fedex: Although the store was pretty much empty it took a full hour for me to get out of there. The two guys behind the front desk were so stoned that they couldn't focus and kept forgetting what they were doing. They kept calling me "bro" , having me fill out the wrong forms, and then explaining that they couldn't send my letters or packages. One Fedex guy almost started crying when the song "Hello" by Dragonette came on because it reminded him of a vacation he took to the Dominican Republic, but luckily another customer bought him a water bottle to calm him down. I tried to send a letter to a foreign country that doesn't use postal codes, and this was way to complicated for the Fedex guys to comprehend. They even brought out the manager who also could not compute. At some point I felt like I would never leave this Fedex. As I waited for him to enter my shipping information, the Fedex guy showed another customer a video of a boxing match. Then he reenacted all the moves and offered analysis on the fight. An hour later I called fedex to file a complaint which was surely useless. read more

This Kinkos F-ing sucks. The people here are totally UN helpful and UN knowledgeable and S-L-O-W. Plus they always make you buy one of those stupid reusable plastic copy cards that cost a dollar which I inevitably lose by the time I come back. I had no problems at all with this place, maybe it was just an *on* day for them, who knows. I came to put together a few spiral bound presentations for a work do. Inelda and Shonise were the two who helped and they were fantastic. The only issue was it took forever to get the tabs right and I'm talking like an hour...it wasn't really their fault though as they were working with a new (and unimproved apparantly) machine. The second time I came in I had to bring my 2 yr old son and was concerned at how much i'd be able to get done, juggling him and working with them on the details of the presentation. He was getting antsy, Inelda could see it and took him to an open area, sat and colored with him! Wow, talk about customer service. There's two stars right there imo. All said, the sprial bound presentations looked great and the clients loved them. Hats off to those two ladies at North Ave Kinkos....they even called the next day to see how everything went, nice. read more

Um, be careful if you go here to get passport pictures taken. The guy who helped me was really nice, and I was in and out QUICK. BUT. The pictures are given to you in a little binder. Inside the binder is a guide that states VERY CLEARLY how big your head has to be. MY HEAD WAS TOO BIG. Thankfully the person at the Post Office pointed this out and I had to shell out another $15 for a new set of pictures. I'd rather do that then get my pictures rejected. So pay attention to the size guide. Never having had a passport, and not knowing this, I thought the pictures were fine. Shows what I know. You'd think that people who ostensibly get PAID to do this would know a little more than I do. Hopefully I can get my money back. We'll see. read more

I needed a canvas banner printed. I came in with my thumb drive gave them the dimensions. They said it would be ready the next evening. I got a call came in to pick up my print. BUT it was printed in the wrong size (2x bigger than I wanted) They apologized and said they could reprint it and have it ready by that evening. Sure, that's fine - everyone makes mistakes and I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.... I was busy and didn't have a chance to return to pick up my corrected print til the next week. and When i did, the SAME THING WAS WRONG! The banner printed 2x the size that I wanted!!! Seriously? Seriously??? People, come on now! They did however, redeem themselves on my 4th trip there. They finally got the print right AND gave me 50% off the price, which was nice, thus earning them an extra star. read more

Ugh. I am the only one here when I walk in with my boxes packed up and ready to ship. Forms are all filled out so I should be good to go. But wait..what's happening? It's taking forever and a day for an employee to notice that I am alive and standing in the store waiting for service. But I know that the two people there can see me. I stare and stare at them. My mission is simple - I just want a receipt. Finally, someone comes over and you would think that asking for a receipt was the worst thing a person could do from the sad sound of the sigh. The store is filling up with people now as easily 15 minutes have passed since I have come in. While imputing the info so I could get my receipt the person leaves to help someone on a copy machine. OK. Then I am left standing there again while he goes to someone on the other side of the store. Then it's back to helping me get my receipt. FINALLY. But no. Again to the copy machine. Then off to God knows where. Here's a tip. Take care of ONE customer and you won't have 10 pissed off ones wondering WTF is going on. I could have been out of your face in 5 minutes flat and really, isn't that what you wanted? read more

Came in today with one person waiting, one came in behind me. No one acknowledged us for 7 minutes, although they clearly saw us and were right there. Waited until the guy in front left for another fed ex to say "hello? Can someone help us?" Turns out it was the manager (!) ignoring us, and wow not even remotely friendly or business-like. This yelp review is specifically for Romano. Romano was very helpful and accommodating to everyone. I could tell that he will try everything first before he tells "you" as a customer that he can't do the job. Romano was very nice and has some people skills which is a plus. He was there when nobody could help me print out my wedding invitations. He was able to find the right size of my wedding paper and adjust the wedding invitation template so that it would fit on the paper. I was lucky that he was there or else I'll probably won't be able to do it myself. Kudos to you Romano, keep it up. Hope to see you being a manager someday. read more

I could not get home fast enough to write this review, and let me say that I never do this. This place is terrible. The employees couldn't be less helpful or more rude. God forbid someone asks you to rise to the occasion and be helpful. All I needed was a few pictures printed out and all I got was attitude. Here's a tip if...you hate your job so much quit, that way the people you serve won't have to suffer your piss poor attitude. Tonight was the last time I will step foot in this joke of a business.
