I stopped in here to drop a Land's End return. It was the middle of the afternoon and there was only one person working the entire store. My wife and I (both in our 60s) schlepped a large 106 pound package into the store for drop-off. We had already purchased a label online. The smug young "manager" (or so she represented herself) arrogantly refused to accept it on the grounds that it was too heavy. We tried to show her that we purchased the label properly and that she had to be mistaken but she loudly tried to shame us and dug in her heels, flatly refusing to accept it with continued major know-it-all attitude. She insisted that FedEx simply didn't deliver packages over 70 pounds to residential addresses. When we insisted that she look again, the only solution she could offer us was that we purchase express level service that cost over $600 more. When we couldn't agree to that she asked us to leave with our package. There was no convincing her that she had to be mistaken. When we got home, I called FedEx and of course our label was correct. The mistake she was making was that she was confusing their specific Home Delivery product (which is a special 70 pound limit service level that delivers packages on Saturdays to home addresses at no additional cost by using contracted non-FedEx drivers) with ALL home delivery in general. Our package was well within the limits for the FedEx Ground label that we purchased. So we wound up having a lot of our time wasted, strained ourselves unnecessarily, and were publicly shamed because this employee was improperly or inadequately trained in both FedEx policy and basic customer service. As it turns out, we were not the idiots that she was looking down her nose at... she is the actual idiot. Hopefully the REAL manager of the store will read this review and realize that he or she has a serious problem in need of fixing. Nastiness is never acceptable in a service oriented business like Kinko's... especially when Yelp exists. As it turns out, any Walgreens will take a FedEx drop off, and they don't give you the attitude that this nasty little big shot thinks is acceptable behavior. That'll be the last time I set foot in that place. read more

If you have the patience to wait for a long period of time in that place trying to get somebody to help you, you've gone to the right place. If you don't mind being in a crowded place with people with bandanas instead of masks, you've gone to the right place. If you don't mind being treated rudely because there is too many customers, and too few personnel, you've gone to the right place. Since I neither have the patience, nor the desire to be indoors in a crowded place for a long period of time, or the wish to be treated rudely by personnel who has to deal with too many requests from too many people, I will not patronize that establishment anymore. And by the way, the photocopiers are not user friendly, and there is nobody available to help you. Staples in University Heights is an option. I am sure there are many more. read more

Good staff, good equipment, plenty of room. Bring a hand cart if you have a large package, parking's not great, but it IS right at an Ivy League U, goes w/ the territory, i.e., try to park near Harvard or Yale! Leave some extra time to deal w/ challenges that always crop up w/ copying, printing and u'll b fine. read more

The staff is friendly, if a little slow and a little small, the space is what you'd expect and the service is decent. My complaint? The location! No parking, no parking and no parking... I SO wish there was another, more convenient FedEx that wasn't in the thick of collage central so as to be convenient for those of us not attending Brown University! I go out of my way to UPS stuff so I don't have to deal with the headache of this local FedEx. I would even drive 20 minutes out of my way for another one. I suppose if you need to get print work done or office supplies, this would be worth the assache that it takes to get through the door. As it is, I need to go with someone so they can idle out front, double-parked while I run in to do my biz. Is it a-ok? Yes, but it could be so much better. read more

The last time I came to this Fed Ex print shop I had a great experience. I was helped by a friendly young lady who processed my order for 50 double sided, full color, business cards. The order was ready to be picked up the following afternoon. the last time however I was helped by a young man who was friendly enough, but after placing my order he was cut off by his surly manager. I was told the minimum was 100 cards and the price would be double what I paid from my last visit to have the cards within a 24 hour period. I inquired about an alternative, to which the manager didn't know off hand, and left me at the desk to find the information. Now rather than having my order the following day I had to wait 5-6 business days. I will be moving my business to another print shop. *Edit* IO Labs in Pawtucket is a Fantastic alternative. Much less corporate, and far more accommodating. read more

2 Stars - PARKING! Yes it is very convenient for Brown/RISD people but if you live on the east side and have to drive, it sucks. There really isn't any other word for it besides it flat out sucks. Especially if you have to make and carry 30+ manuals. 3 Stars - Service. The services was fine. There were two copy machines at the time, however only one worked to copy from the glass. The other machine that didn't work was operating on Kinko's new Beta format where you can enter in your USB drive or other storage device and print/make copies straight from that. Well, it would've been cool if it worked. So here I had to make 30 copies of a manual that was 90 pages long and felt AWFUL that there was only one machine. Ugh, you're a college Kinko's - lets get more than one working machine. 4 Stars - Hours. They're the only Kinko's in the state of RI (and local Mass) that are open on Sundays. read more

I have come to this FedEx print center numerous times over the past couple of months The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The first time I came I had to get a big menu printed. They printed me a rough draft copy just to assure me that it would not be be pixelated when they blew up the image. I also printed some colored items on the self service printers. They were quick and easy to use. I bought the card stock paper from them it was very reasonably price and had many color options. I came back another time to get a big menu printed in color. They had it ready in one day which was wonderful! All the other times I came was to just use the self serve printers. read more

Fantastic Customer Service! The staff here is great and more than willing to help you out in any way they can. The manager, Joe, is also unbelievable - he 'gets' customer service, treating every customer like family. This is the only store I've taken posters for printing, but I'm extremely impressed with their service. I had a 44" by 44" poster to print and I decided to take it here because they've been timely and professional in the past. I brought my poster in on a zip drive about an hour before they closed. Because they use the physical dimensions of the poster to print, it needed to be re-sized. They offered to re-size it for a fee, but I decided to drive back home and email it to them instead. It took longer than expected to re-size the poster so I ended up emailing them about 15 minutes after they closed. To my surprise, not only did they reply that same night, but they also loaded the poster into the printer and were able to print a proof that would be ready for the morning. After reviewing the proof the next day, the poster was printed without any problems. I'm impressed with how they were willing to go the extra mile without any sort of pressure (I wasn't in a rush) and would definitely return for any future poster printing. read more

I've experienced better customer service at other locations. Each time I come in here the staff seems to be unhappy, slow, and unfamiliar with their own products/services. As a business owner, I must say I am very disappointed with the level of service this location is providing. Perhaps members of their corporate office should retrain. I've had no problems with the FedEx service here in the past, and it's easier to park here than the downtown branch, but watch how much you print b/c I was quoted over $100 to self print out about 100 pieces of paper. Given the fact that the guy at the register also gave my coworker rude attitude when he went for some help printing, it amounted to a very expensive slap in the face. For that price, I'd think the guy could at least unclench his jaw a little, I was developing a sympathetic migraine looking at him mistreat my coworker. geez. read more

Just left this location. Emily was the clerk on tonight. I was roped to print a scientific poster at FedEx Kinkos due to the extremely unclear and confusing "50% off poster" promotion. I had a 3 x 4 poster printed thinking I would only pay 65 bucks. When I told informed Emily of the special ad she seemed unaware of it and was pretty dismissive of it. When I once again asked when I went to pick up my print she said "oh yeah another customer had the same question but its if you order online only". I took her word for it and left, however, upon reading the terms and conditions, it read "poster packages" online and in center. I went back to the store to chat more with Emily about this, and she did not seem pleased. She was extremely condescending saying that she had a ton of work to do and probably could not call customer service. I insisted and told her I would wait around. Once she saw that I was not giving up easily she begrudgingly called a couple of stores in the area, informed me that he hadn't gotten through to anyone, thinking that I would leave. Again, I didn't budge and she finally called customer service. About 30 minutes later turned out that the promotion was for posters being laminated, placed in foam, and mounted ONLY! Extremely confusing took a couple reads of the terms and conditions to finally get it. And I'm not a dumb person, I have a Ph.D for goodness sake. If you are a part of Brown research day this coming Tuesday and need to rush print a poster make sure you don't fall for this like I did! Save yourself the headache. Incrediably unhelpful in everything! Cant even print simple mailing labels for customers. Also, dont go there trying to have them create a word document for you. Its $25 for them to just create a label in a word document for you and to process more than 9 word documents in a file for mailing labels is $7.50 PER WORD DOCUMENT!!! The lady I spoke to had no clue how to create labels in word documents and also they had no manager on duty or anybody for that matter to assist. The lady behind the desk offered no solutions of help. Stay clear of this location!!!! read more

So nice to have a FedEx office that's easy to get to from Thayer. I went in during a snowstorm and needed to send out a passport-related application. The young woman working was balancing three customers, all of whom (plus me) were a bit frazzled, very adeptly. Color me impressed, as it was a quick and painless experience for me in the end. read more

This place lost or stole a package I was trying to ship. FedEx corporate said I would have to work with this branch since they had no record of my shipment ever getting into their system. The manager offered to review the security tapes to confirm whether or not I actually dropped it off, but never followed up with me despite my numerous attempts to reach her. On top of losing $80 boots, they would not even refund me the shipment cost. Think this sounds unreal? Search "FedEx losing or damaging packages," and read about how they scam people. read more

I needed 50 basic two sided copies of my daughter's class brochure project printed for the following day. My local staples wouldn't do it at 7:50 at night because they needed to get orders ready for the following morning. Fedex was more than accommodating. I walked in at just after 9 and by 9:25 I had all my daughters brochures printed for her class trip including folding. Tiffany saved the day. read more

Unprofessional staff, ridiculous price We went there the third time to print and cut some invitation cards after two unsuccessful visits due to various little issues ('you have to combine all your files otherwise we charge $8 per file' etc.). I first asked the lady to print a black&white proof of the first two cards, then asked her to print all eight cards in color ('use FIRST.pdf for proof and ALL.pdf for the actual print'). They said they were very busy today and asked for my phone number so they will call me once it is ready. The phone call didn't arrive until *13* minutes before they close. I rushed there, paid $17, opened the bag, and found that there were only TWO cards. I tried to notice them of the problem, but they insisted that they were under the impression that I only wanted to print the first two cards, and if I want to print the rest I still have to pay for the additional pages AND again the cutting fee. It is also interesting that they charged me $1.5 * 8 = $12 for cutting, while for that particular layout only 6 cuts are needed. I used to print business cards at other Fedex locations and always had pleasant experience. However this time it feels like having eaten a ton of fly. read more

A word to the wise for FedEx account holders: I am fairly certain this branch is not providing customers with their discounts (one of the benefits to being an account holder.) I ship multiples of the same item, same box, same weight, etc., so I know how much it costs to ship from the downtown location and I know how much it costs to ship from Meeting St. They tell you that they can't "see your discount" because the account number they enter should automatically adjust the rate, but this has happened too many times where the same package/weight going to Ohio costs more than the one going to CA! Basically, I suspect they are pocketing the difference in the discount and charging account holders the same rate as non-account holders. This makes sense because if you log into your online bill center (at least in my case), all of my shipments from the downtown location show up (thus, they are entering my account number and applying the discount as they should) but zero of my shipments from Meeting Street appear online. In addition, I would recommend you ask for a shipping quote before telling them you are an account holder. Then, ask them what the rate is when they punch in your account number. You may be surprised. But don't be surprised if they scowl at you in the process. Also, the only damaged packages I've dealt with were shipped from Meeting St., so really, a lousy experience overall. read more

This establishment is very cruddy. I go there regularly to make large format scans on their archaic and uncooperative machine. it is always dirty and tarnishes what is being scanned. Its presets don't make sense and generally require decoding from overworked staff, who seem to be spread too thin and saddled with too many duties and costumers to attend to. the computer that shows you the result of the scan is unclear and garbled so you must check in with the computers behind the counter, which again requires burdening the staff and leaves you trying to understand your scan results from the opposite side of the counter. Even that computer doesn't correctly display the scans, and on at least 3 occasions i've returned home to find that the files were glitched and useless, for which i haven't been able to receive reimbursement, even though I am paying for neither a good or a service, but simply for an immaterial file. To be clear, my problem is not with the staff, who typically seem friendly and helpful enough. It's with the facilities and the policies, which seem remarkably bad and slanted against the paying costumer. I'm sure this company is doing well enough to upgrade their systems, but I don't think there is much competition in town to incentivize any such thing. read more

The Kinko's aspect of this business is fine and the staff is helpful. However, FedEx is the WORST. I have had so many mistakes made with packages. I called FedEx to have a package held at this location, and it was not held. The staff here knew nothing about it, and the FedEx customer service people were extremely unhelpful. Whenever I have something delivered by FedEx it ends up being a huge hassle for me. I hate FedEx. There is no way to speak to someone who can actually help you or truly get anything done, and clearly this is exactly the way FedEx wants it. read more

I work in retail myself and I just had the best customer experience at this print shop. The woman who helped me, Aisha, was pleasant and patient and did a great job of managing my expectations when I called ahead. Even when I realized there were errors in the documents I was printing, she took the time to go back into the original files so I could figure out how to fix the problem. I normally get stressed out when I feel I'm unfairly inconveniencing someone in the service industry but she told me it was good because she was learning something new as well. She showed genuine enthusiasm for my project and didn't neglect the other customers in the store while she was taking the time to help me. This experience is in stark contrast to experiences I've had at other print shops (particularly the experience I had at Staples immediately before deciding to leave there and come here based on the phone conversation I had with Aisha). I don't know who hired this woman, who trained this woman or who this woman's boss is, but I hope they all take the time to thank her for providing such exemplary customer service. Next time I need to print something I will be back, particularly if Aisha is on duty. read more
