I booked them 2 weeks in…read moreadvance, and warned them that time and injuries were potential factors that could slow packing, and that I might need their help. I contacted them again within a week of moving and said hardly anything would be packed. They said they weren't bringing boxes or packing supplies, I told them I would provide. I called them again as they drove to the move and told them I needed packing done. Bottom line, even though not part of original agreement, I warned them several times about the situation. They packed my storage first on the first day. 4 people allegedly took 7 hrs to pack a fully loaded 10 x 15 storage unit. You do the math. The second day they stated on the main area. Packing needed to be done, and I told them I would ay them an additional $800. Let me hasten to say that at no point did they offer to do this for more money, or try to renegotiate. They did say they would like to leave at 2:30, after arriving at 10a. At 3:30 they said they needed to get diesel in their trucks, and I needed to get either cash or a certified check to pay them the approx. $6k owed (INCLUDING bonus). They called from gas station and asked me to meet them. I paid them and they left. I thought they must have really busted it the last hour. When I returned home I found items and trash in every room. There was a box open and half-packed in the kitchen, as well as a bowl half wrapped on the counter. There were items in every cabinet. The cabinets below the counter had not even been touched. I've attached photos for how it was left. I had to contact a 2nd mover to come and finish the job, at the cost of an additional $3,100. They had caked up an additional 40 boxes!!! Who just walks away from a job!?!? I thought these were good guys, but I truly felt robbed.

The loading went OK since we had already packed everything except for the furniture and art. All the boxes we packed were labeled by room and contents. The damage was discovered after the move. If the Forman chosen for the job is not good your move will be expensive, difficult and there will be damage. The guys they sent worked hard but not smart because the Forman was inexperienced. He did not focus on priorities that would make the move smoother, He was in CYA mode the entire time. He pointed out minor flaws in a few pieces of furniture that we already knew about and acknowledged. The irony of all this CYA is that these movers or rather their forman deliberately hid damage that they caused. * They damaged the wall in the stairwell of the destination we moved into by gouging the drywall and chipping the paint. And said nothing. * They chipped the glass of an expensive dining room table top. And said nothing. * They spilled Gatorade on the carpet in one of the bedrooms, covered it up with boxes. And said Nothing. * At the destination they dropped boxes that were clearly marked by room just about anywhere and everywhere. We found boxes marked "Kitchen pots and Pans" in the garage. * They left Art sitting in the hot sun * We had specifically asked that the beds be unloaded and set up in the bedrooms as one of the first things upon arriving at the destination, to determine what other furniture would fit. This was repeatedly ignored. Instead they dragged their feet but kept asking where certain pieces of furniture were to go. The move ended up being much more expensive by 30%. Take this is a caution. Maybe if you're a student and you have inexpensive stuff - things like this will not bother you. But if you have things you care about. Maybe you can hire a company that can do better. Working with them was frustrating and in the end very expensive.

This is on top of being an hour late to the house we moved from, taking at least 3 breaks, and taking several pictures while inside our home for who knows what. These guys had no blankets, no cardboard, no plastic and they complained at me b/c my lamps were not packed. Then they left items at my old house. (The new owner had to call me to come get them.) I bought pizza for the American Moving crew. After they left I found pizza crusts thrown into my yard and other trash from food they had eaten. In all - they worked fast, but were unprepared to do a professional move (no supplies) and they left my brand new yard strewn with trash. Ug. Call some other company!
