I have always used Fed Ex or UPS as my primary shippers. USPS PRIORITY with full insurance was also about the same price. Like many other dissatisfied customers, I have left negative reviews of Fed Ex & UPS, particularly the SSF warehouse of both. I've met a few of the drivers & they are very nice & work hard. After a bit of research, particularly international shipping, I found the problem with both companies. Given the choice, I will never use Fed Ex or UPS again, only USPS Priority. Here is the problem: CONTRACT WORKERS. Whether short staffed or to cut costs, both companies began using contract workers to handle the "extra" shipping duties. These 3rd party workers aren't even properly vetted as a regular fulltime UPS or Fed Ex worker would be. These random pick-up workers usually just drive around in unmarked cars & drop off much the same as UBER eats of Door dash would, with about the same results. Meanwhile, both companies cut costs & free up their regular delivery drivers. The problem is, they take NO RESPONSIBILITY for the loss, theft or destruction of our packages. These random contract workers have zero training, zero vetting & zero consequences. Meanwhile, the customer loses out & spends weeks or even months trying to locate our lost packages all so the greedy CEO class at the top can rake in larger profits. They don't care about us. They know the problem but as long as it continues to give them more money, they'll let it continue. Our only response is to not use any of these companies that don't care about the reputation of their actual employees or the welfare of their customers. The motto used to be "the customer is always right". Now it's "Who cares about the customer, just get their money". I won't choose Fed Ex or UPS for any shipping until they hire sufficient workers. Untrained, unvetted contract workers are destroying the reputation that these company drivers work hard every day to maintain. Shame on the bosses who undermine the customers & their own workers. When the regular trucks of both companies deliver packages, they are always great. The problem is these contract workers & the shifty attitude of the people who are supposed to try & help when a package is lost. They just waste our time with diversionary tactics instead of just identifying the problem & locating the item. read more

To start FedEx in general is difficult to deal with. The tracking system for the packages gives you a vague understanding of where it is and when it will be delivered frequently, the update is "it's in transit" with no other explanation. The details on how it's getting from point A to point B used to be more detailed but now it's not. The customer service line tends to hang up on you rather than transfer you to a live customer service agent. It requires information that puts you into a different answer loop than actually transferring you to an agent when you want to talk to somebody, especially if you have a complaint. I personally had a very difficult time even finding the FedEx customer service number on their website. The delivery center in South San Francisco frequently does not deliver at the same day they get it even if they get it at 2 o'clock in the morning it probably won't go out until the next day and I don't understand why that happens with my packages. USPS is much more efficient delivering my packages in South San Francisco then FedEx. When I look at my USPS tracking and it shows that it had arrived at station early in the morning, like two or 3 o'clock in the morning, I know that I would be receiving it later on that day. My most recent experience with FedEx had them not send a package out to be delivered on a Saturday delivery and it was delayed till Monday. This delay was logged in about 8 o'clock in the morning but post timed till 11:30, almost to show that delivery was attempted, but their reason was the business was closed and they could not make that delivery. This was going to a UPS store that is open seven days a week. When I finally contacted the customer service line, they said that business indicated that the address it was going to belong to a business that was only open Monday through Friday. I have never had this excuse from USPS. read more

Why I can't leave one star? Package was delivered to this facility on Friday 3 am and still not out for delivery. Package is 5 days late from original delivery day. When I went this am to pick up the package they could not find it and after 30 mins of attempt I was told it's on a trailer and they cannot get to it. I spent 1 hour in line with other. I had a fantastic experience several weeks ago with an absolutely delightful woman named Anne Manning. This review is grossly overdue Anne I'm so sorry this took me so long!! Anyway back to my experience lol I needed to ship a gift basket to a friend of mine back home and while Anne and I were talking about what I was shipping she was sooooo thoughtful and helpful! I mentioned that I was shipping some chocolates and things to my friend as a thank you and she made sure to talk about shipping speeds and packaging to ensure that the chocolates didn't melt on the way! I don't know where to complain but FedEx is incompetent. I had a package coming from somewhere and from a shipper I didn't know. I had went online to change the deliver option to a FedEx affiliate location to pick up in a store. I thought on this is great and more convenient for me. Then I get a phone call from a representative that my package got rerouted to another location instead and it ready for pickup. The location I selected doesn't take FedEx holds at this time. So I said oak and off I went to the new location and at the pickup location said I see no package for you. It's probably still in transit. So that wasted my time. Now I get alert on my phone saying it was returned to shipper because they couldn't get an updated address and package was sitting somewhere at their south Sf Warehouse. I never got alerted at all. Only alert I got was that it was being sent back to the shipper. I struggle through useless customer service which I believe is located in some noisy call center perhaps india? And the customer agent had just generic response contact your shipper to resend it. Well that easy for you to say and she could not give me a good reason why it was sent back. Only answer was to contact the shipper to resend it. Well easy for you to say, but I don't know who the shipper is and I have no idea what's in that package. . What if that package is a scam. I am not sure what to do. Should I just forget about the unknown package? All I have is shipper address and name. This sucks! I thought FedEx was supposed to be accurate and efficient? Same as all the comments on here. Driver took picture of my garage and marked it as attempted delivery on there app. Not once but twice. Called customer support who just gave me generic apology. Told them that it was all caught on camera. They said a manager from this location would contact me to get this resolved. Never got a call. Now it's at the point where it is at final attempt to deliver. At this point feel like the only way FedEx would resolve this is by me contacting a news channel. I had an order back in Ontario California my mother sent me frozen homemade food, it was supposed to be a 2 day delivery but did not arrive there were signs that say leave packages outside of the door and I guess they sent me a picture of the wrong address and no where that I lived and they requested another day which is on a Monday they said they tried to deliver my girlfriend was on the watch for my packages I told her to look outside if there's a FedEx truck and there was nothing and I gave them a call on a Monday and they said that your package was damaged and was in the facility the entire time so pretty much lied to me. read more

On Thursday, I had a package sent to my previous address (of course it was rejected by the new tenant). Address was corrected same day but this triggered a 24-48 hour delay due to the correction. I spoke with Sam and he was 100% transparent with me on whether I would receive my order in time or not for my event. 1200 bags of cotton candy were in Sam's hands (by this time it was Friday night and my chances looked pretty slim to none considering the upcoming weekend). I get a call the following Saturday morning with the best news I could hope for. Sam had retrieved all 15 of my packages from the warehouse that same morning. He and his team could have easily blew me off and sent me home to try again on Monday. Instead, he decided to go out of his way to do this for me. I truly appreciate it. This company particularly this hub is the most incompetent workers of all losers who called themselves drivers. Lazy or clueless drivers who never showed up to deliver packages, customer service and especially the tracing department can't communicate with the local facilities, packages just vanished into thin air. If you need to ship anything to SF ask your vendor to use a different shipper, anyone else would be a better choice. See the attached pictures? I am so happy that a new fedex location opened up 2 min drive from my house. But just be warned that no one is ever in the front, and a line will pile up. They take about 5-10 minutes to come out, and then if you are last in line it will be another 15-20 minutes before they help you. This occurs 9/10 times, i've hardly ever seen someone in front as soon as i enter. Fedex being a huge corp can't just pay someone to stay in front he entire time? LOL. We are not here to wait for anyone, they get paid to service us. Without customers, this location wouldn't exist. Pay your workers to stay in front! Add a freaking camera so the workers can see when people are in the front, if you force them to work in the back and front at the same time. Add a door chime when someone walks in so they know! Add a bell so we can hit it in the front desk and alert the workers we need help. Jesus. Oh ya, please make this a print and ship center! You have enough room and space and staff! Please allow ATT router returns, it makes no sense. I walked in earlier today and took 5 minutes for someone to come out, there was also a fedex girl on the floor in the front cleaning something and she totally did not get up to help anyone LOL. Package was supposed to be delivered on 1/5. It went back to this hub without leaving a tag or anything. Package hold request put in on 1/5. It has been 20 days but still no update on this package. Opened investigation yet it just said "we exhausted all options but couldn't find it" it's not a merchandise and cannot be replaced. Seemingly every single package sent via FedEx is significantly late to the point that I now cringe when I see a company that I've made a purchase from has chosen to use them. I've experienced very significant delays (300% or more) several times in the past month alone. On top of this, the tracking is useless - it doesn't update properly so you'll sit at home waiting for a package that, despite already being delayed, won't actually arrive for two or three more days. In the end, your day is ruined for absolutely nothing. As others have noted, FedEx seem as though they couldn't care less. Customer service is useless and extremely difficult to reach - even their phone system is rude and unhelpful. No surprise then that both Amazon and Apple have stopped using them. Companies that get to this point of not caring should be boycotted and the best way, in my opinion, to make an impact is to proactively ask customer service of whichever vendor you're using to not ship via FedEx. It isn't always possible or practical to do this, but if enough people do this often enough, it change things for the better in that FedEx will either improve or they'll be used by vendors less often. read more

I had THREE replacement packages sent to me by Chewy which is a pet food supplier since September 8th. It is now September 26th. No packages in sight. They lie about "attempting" a delivery but they don't attempt shit. I caught them red handed as I was watching them from my window. And I got you on camera my dudes. Don't worry, HR will be hearing from me very soon and will recognize those faces from the video. What they do is pretend to load a dolly from the truck with nothing on it, and put it back in the truck. And they drive off!! That is their definition of "attempted delivery."This happened multiple times already. I wouldn't want to load a 50 pound box either but I'm a paying customer and you should do your damn job. Repeated and historic issues with FedEx drivers in my area (packages originating from this facility) in not truly attempting to deliver my package. This latest time it was a business critical Next Day package (signature required) that I was expecting from my work. I wanted to make sure I received this package, so I was looking out of the window all day (where my home office window is facing) and saw the FedEx truck pull up in front of my house. I watched the driver expecting my package but instead he went to deliver a package to a building across the street. So I thought, okay maybe my package is on a different truck. Then a minute later I get a text message alert about an attempted delivery, and that a second attempt would be on Monday (this was on a Friday). The driver never came to my building! Complete lie! Now I need to go to this damn facility to pick it up on Saturday. This is one of a handful of incidents of laziness and lies from FedEx drivers in my area. They're the worst delivery service I have ever come across as they a problematic 90% of the time. Unfortunately there's probably little we can do as the receipents of packages. It's the senders they care about, where the $ is coming from. But a few things I did and I hope you will too if you've been a victim: 1) call FedEx support and file an official complaint about the incident 2) file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I believe this is the distribution center that service my neighborhood. My package was "on truck for delivery" today (5/31/23). Stayed home all day waiting. At around 5 something, saw a FedEx truck drove down my block and then back up w/o stopping. I then received a text that a delivery attempt was made and customer not available. BS! First of all, no signature was is required so driver could have left package w/o customer present. Second, I was home and ready to meet the driver but the truck zoomed off. Called the FedEx 800 number and was told they will attempt to deliver tomorrow (ok?) as if I had a choice. read more

This is literally THE WORST Fed Ex drop off location EVER. They have 5 terminals and there is NEVER anyone out in the lobby. There is no bell or a way to notify the elusive agents BEHIND THE WALL that you are in the lobby waiting for service. You literally have to WAIT until an agent magically appears. I've waited as long as 10 minutes to see anyone that can help me. read more

My phone was stolen last weekend, and I've been struggling to get my replacement since Tuesday. So I wouldn't miss the delivery, I sat by the front window with the front door open (brrr) for most of today, refreshing the tracking page. Then I refresh the page and it says a delivery has been attempted. Absolutely f*cking impossible. That was at 1:30 today, and now it's 5:45. I have been on and off the phone with Sprint and Fedex for those hours. I need a phone to work this weekend for income I can't do without, and they say the next delivery attempt is going to be on Monday because of the New Years weekend. It's Thursday. I've lost so many packages from FedEx. They don't deliver on the doorstep. They just throw your package on the lobby of the building and take pictures it's delivered.
