Highly recommended! I had the puppy blues and was completely overwhelmed with where to start and what to do. Our puppy was very difficult to walk, biting, and all around puppy-like (of course!) but it was leaving me overwhelmed. We signed up for Puppy Kindergarten and it made a huge difference. By the end of the session you have all the tools you need to keep the training going on your own. For me, it was helpful to have accountability with the class environment. It also helped me reframe the way I saw her and all my frustrations. After all, she's just a puppy and she didn't know what I wanted her to do! Training with Tracy has been exceptional. My dog Honey and I started with a dog manners 101 group class, where we worked on communication, barking, and loose leash walking. We just finished our third training session with Tracy for our dog who was experiencing trauma from a cat attack. Over the course of about three months he's improved not only in the area of confidence in taking walks again, but Tracy also leaned into helping other areas of struggle such as leash walking. My dog, Penny, and I have been attending the Feet and Paws pack walks for several years. We both always have so much fun. Penny is excited to meet new dogs and show them how little dogs love to hike, and I enjoy meeting new people with dogs that like to hike. We've gone on three pack walks with Tracy and it has been a great way to socialize our reactive rescue pup safely! She always sets a calm mood for the walk so everyone respects each other's space, but if your dog is more friendly there are usually a few members of the pack walk who are able to walk together. By the end of each walk, even our distrustful pup is walking within a few feet of the other dogs because it's been such a positive experience for him. read more

I've taken multiple group classes with Tracy, and I have to say they are as good as or better than the one-on-one lessons I've taken in the past. She is really good at emphasizing what's most important so you don't get too overwhelmed. I really like the group environment, as being around other committed owners and dogs is really fun and motivating! Tracy is a dog whisperer. We took our 6 mo old Aussie girl to her group class and realized significant improvement her in her behavior. Sit, come, stay, wait became fun for me, my husband and for Bounce. She wasn't chewing as much "leave it" and "take it" were actually working. Tracy showed us exactly what to do. She taught us to respect Bounce and how to earn respect in turn. We followed up with private sessions (which I highly recommend) because of a skateboard and vacuum problem Bounce was having. What began as an potentially great concept was quickly hindered by unprofessional execution and a general lack of respect for customers' time and safety. After an hour's worth of paperwork, 5 emails, and a 45 minute in-person consultation (on a Saturday), we were presented with a contract that rivaled that of a professional climbing gym and a price list that mirrored a pilates studio. Doing push-ups while your dog stays via a a sit or down command is a wonderful idea. It's questionable to do it a in a close group setting. It doesn't take becoming a semi-licensed "instructor" to understand that forcing a group of dogs through a barrage of fear-inducing obstacles in tight proximity might cause some undesirable results. The owner was quick to recount a story of being personally bitten by a dog that was attending; that story was later followed by another tale of a dog being attacked by another. And then the contract appeared. Folks, save your money and skin. Run with your dog. Go to a professional studio for a fitness class. Don't fall for an overpriced matrix of low-grade training shenanigans that are coupled with a contract absolving the profiting instructor of all responsibility for any negligence. read more

Tracy helped us with our 11 month Lab who needed guidance with leash walking and recalls. We like Tracy's style of positive reinforcement instead of using a remote collar to shock our dogs, which was used with another trainer. Our Lab would shut down with the collar. Our dog, Moon, had a rough life before my husband and I adopted him, and because of this he came in with some behavioral issues. One of them was EXTREME anxiety and reactivity towards dogs, humans, squirels, birds, pretty much anything that lives and moves. My husband and I tried all the TikTok advices for reactive dogs we could find, but instead of Moon getting better, he was getting progressively worse. It came to the point that I was afraid to go outside for a walk with him, because he would react to dogs so badly, that he would start flying on the leash. At that point we contacted Tracy, cause we couldn't take it anymore. Tracy, the angel sent from heavens, met with us, gave us her INVALUABLE tips, and within 3 days, yes 3 DAYS!!!, Moon's behavior shifted 180*. We're about 2 months in now and Moon can walk past a dog on the same side of the side walk, he can sniff butts with other dogs, my husband and I can meet with friends that Moon doesn't know without him throwing a fit, we can go to a dog park and have him play with other dogs. Tracy is a godsend! We adopted our 4 year old Buddy Boy (a wheaten) from a breeder who kept him outside on a filthy dog run. Once we cleaned him up and got rid of his fleas, we realized he was an escape artist. He jumped over our fences (which are now higher). He even climbed trees to get out (those branches have been pruned). Scariest of all, he was terrible with my grandchildren. I was terrified we'd have to give him back. After working with Tracy, I can safely say he's the sweetest, best dog I've ever had. Not only did Feet & Paws train him, Tracy trained me too! She gentle (but firm) and patient, and she always left me with a hard copy of that day's lesson; it's also on her website. It was so helpful to Buddy and me to rely on her notes rather than my memory. Six months after our sessions, we had an issue with Buddy on the bed. In one email, she told me how to fix it and sent me back up info. It worked and we're all sleeping soundly again. I can't say enough about Tracy James and Feet&Paws. read more

I tried using Tracy twice -- because I believe in giving someone a second chance even if they don't do a great job the first time -- but was really disappointed both times. I don't think she has much common sense, and really wasn't reliable. Both times I came home to find that my cat had almost no food or water, plus there was cat litter scattered across the bathroom floor (even though I had a little broom and dust pan right there). But the worst part was when I told her I didn't want to continue using her service. She refused to return my keys unless I paid her an amount above what she'd originally told me, and also demanded that I sign a release of liability. Bad experience, all the way around. read more

I thought my one year old Australian Cattle Dog (a rescue dog) might be un-trainable because he wouldn't respond to treats. Tracy gave me some guidance as to what treats to try and how to use them. Teddy is wrapping up his basic training class and has come a long way in just six weeks. He responds to seven commands that Tracy has instructed us on how to use, and I am sure he will be able to learn new commands easily as I continue to challenge him.
