There we're about six other people waiting in the waiting room when I arrived. I was told I was holding these people back. So I have no idea what they are talking about. I'm just leaving her practice because I've never known a doctor that does not give any kind of wiggle room for traffic, parking, etc. I drove a handicapped shuttle bus which you cannot drive fast nor easily find parking. Her office is especially difficult to find as it looks the same in all of these buildings around hers. It's not a standalone building. Their power went off while I waited which you would think they'd become flexible with the situation. No, no flexibility at all. I'm very disappointed because she came highly recommended but if you're not going to all be flexible then where is the care in patient care anymore? I'll find another doctor who understands that life happens and at least your doctor cares about that.

The waiting room was not busy with three parties waiting. Maybe you ought to hire more folks--or at least send someone in to the exam room and ask if everything is ok. Over an hour wait is waaay too long when you have a scheduled appointment. Also, your online check in system didn't work for me, so I had to fill out paperwork again, even though I'd been there before. You need a revamp of all of this.

But I got misdiagnosed on a couple parameters that caused me to be pretty worried for a long time. The X-ray machine was unusual, I had to bend way forward at the waist for chest x-ray, which caused misdiagnosis. the nurse practans the doctor both saw air bubble type cells in my lung -0xrays and thought it was emphysema. Turns out the cells were from my abdomen. Bending over to be xrayed brought the top of my stomach into the picture. The cells were gas! They both thought I had a huge bulge of my stomach into my chest. I chased that diagnosis for almost a year. I had no such thing. So be aware of this if you have a chest x-ray. But they gave me a great cough syrup, and the office was calming and lovely.

No one took my temperature, and when the nurse practitioner went to check my lungs, she said, "My stethoscope is in the other room -- unless you really need me to check, I won't." I had to ask her to do a basic lung check, which should be standard during a respiratory visit. Although she acknowledged fluid in my ears and my symptoms, I was sent home with nothing more than a list of over-the-counter medications. I left feeling brushed off and not taken seriously, despite clearly not feeling well. Patients deserve thorough care, regardless of the time of day.

He had been feeling unwell--displaying symptoms like fatigue, significant weight loss, and unusual coughing--so we decided to visit her on April 20, 2026. Upon our arrival, Dr. Ortiz introduced her student doctor, who conducted an examination. However, when Dr. Ortiz entered the room, her assessment was alarming. She diagnosed my fiancé with allergies and prescribed allergy medication without considering his more concerning symptoms, such as dark urine resembling tea and unexplained abdominal pain. When he expressed his worries, she dismissed them, suggesting he "train his belly" to avoid nighttime urination and even recommended Googling solutions. Despite my insistence on lab work, Dr. Ortiz refused, citing a previous normal lab from January. This lack of thorough examination and refusal to listen to our concerns was disheartening. Just days later, I had to rush my fiancé to urgent care, where he was found to be extremely anemic and in critical condition, requiring six blood transfusions and eventual transfer to the ICU. The medical teams at Northwest Hospital and the Mayo Clinic were outstanding, ultimately saving his life. They diagnosed and treated a rare autoimmune disease that could have been caught earlier if Dr. Ortiz had conducted a proper examination or ordered the necessary tests. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for Dr. Ortiz to take her patients' concerns seriously and treat them with the care and attention they deserve. Regrettably, my family and I will no longer be patients at Marana Health Center, and I cannot recommend Dr. Ortiz based on our experience.
