Looking at previous reviews, I don't think this will come as a shock to anyone: this is a cool hipster cocktail lounge in CDMX. On a night out on my own, I wanted to find a relaxed cocktail to enjoy some solo time (treat yo self) and ended up at Felina Bar. From the outside, it's an unassuming brick building in the southern part of Condesa, I actually walked past it at first. Once inside, you're taken into an intimate, Mad Men-style 1960s bar with vintage furniture and art. The mixologists were friendly and helped me figure out what kind of drink I was looking for. Though I can't remember the name, I got 2 of the same pink cocktail that was beautifully made and not too overpowering. I ended up taking it over to one of the leather couches and just sipping it down. Cocktails were around $6, and the menu is decently lengthy. Coolest part about this bar? The bathroom is inside a false wall. Right across from the entrance, you push the wooden wall, and a door opens to two, single-stall bathrooms, which were actually very clean and renovated. This place is definitely a spot, but there weren't many other people, probably because it was a weekday. Felina Bar would be great for a date night or if you're looking to catch up with a couple of friends over the weekend.

Felina is just the kind of bar I was looking for during my short stay in Mexico DF: awesome cocktails, great service, nice low light ambiance, cool music in the background. The decor is also pretty cool, with art déco styled wallpaper and vintage chairs and sofas. Also helps that they were not crowded when I arrived around 9pm. I got a quick glimpse at the menu and a house version of dry martini got my attention. Preparation was top notch, with the bartender making sure that the cocktail was at the right temperature to be served and well stirred. Same is true when I asked for a negroni, made with premium booze and a bartender's choice at the end of the night, a mezcal sour. Food menu looked good too, but I wanted to visit a nearby spot for tacos (Taquería El Califa) so I ended up skipping it. The assorted nuts and dried fruit snack was good though. While I was sipping my cocktails I ended up getting acquainted with bartender Pollo and he introduced me to a few locals and also gave me a few bar recommendations around town. That was also fun.

I'd say the perfect drinking spot you can go anytime or before going out clubbing. Cozy environment, feels intimate, not too loud (you can still hear your conversation, if you know what I mean), good drinks, super low-key. Will go back anytime.

The drinks are fantastic and the prices are good-- a wide selection of classics, twists on classics, and some very cool locally-created drinks.

Every night of my last trip to Mexico City,on the walk back to my hotel in Roma Norte-I would walk…read moreby this bar and every night it was straight popping off and I kept telling the wife " before we leave,we got to hit this bar up". Well on the night before we left,we finally squeezed this bar into our itinerary and man, am I glad we did. This bar was so freaking cool. The ambiance felt great-there was an energy in the room. The staff was so awesome,so friendly-they offered to make us anything we wanted, even drinks that were not on the menu. They would ask us, what type of cocktails we liked, what liquors, what we didn't like and just come up with a drink on the spot-they were a very impressive staff.I also liked how they would make drinks as a team, one person did one part of it, then passed it to another person who would handle another part,by the time it got to us , the entire team had a hand in making our drinks-it was kinda odd but amusing at the same time. The crowd was definitely touristy as I didn't see very many locals at this bar ,though did run into a woman traveling on business from Sacramento and I thought that was just the most random thing ever. I think the coolest part of this bar on this visit was about halfway through our time there, the bartender asked if we wanted to see their "speakeasy" in the back of the bar-so he took us in the back and stopped us at this kind of nondescript door and opened it and it took us to a speakeasy in the back that contained the bar's rarest alcohols and another bar that was totally isolated from the main bar-was a really cool experience. In closing, If you ever find yourself in the Roma Norte district of Mexico City, I highly recommend visiting Limantour bar and ask them to take you to the speakeasy-it's an awesome experience. PS-I almost forgot, just to validate my feelings on this bar-they have won a Top 50 bar award globally for like the last 5 years straight-a very special spot and a must visit in the bar scene in Roma Norte.

Overall, liked my experience here. Came here with a friend on a weekend night and it was packed,…read morebut we didn't have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to get "seated". I say seated with parenthesis because most people end up standing here but we got lucky that a couple was leaving as we were right next to them after being asked our drink orders. It's kind of a weird system that they have and I think the staff didn't realize we didn't have our drink orders taken yet and asked the people behind us for theirs which was slightly annoying. It was a bit chaotic so I can see why it happened, but I do think they need a slightly better system. Anyways, the drinks were excellent and I love that they gave us a little small snack that included crickets (which I hadn't tried before yet). The vibes in here are really nice too. I love the dim lighting and the almost rock/clay atmosphere. The bathroom area is smaller than I was expecting but it was ok. I'd definitely return!

There are no seats, this is a standing bar except a few uncomfortable bar stools. Drinks were good, but I expected more. I got the colada and it was good, not too sweet. Almost clarified colada. Everything was very spirit forward which few of our friends really liked. This felt like a one time visit for me in CDMX

I was determined to get a reservation for this bar considering…read moreit's one of the best bars in North America that I even put a reminder on my phone when reservations were released. Honestly, I couldn't find the place at all. In fact I had to call my friend to see where it was. It's hidden inside a hotel and there's construction going around so it was definitely hard to find and walk through especially with heels on. Luckily we had a reservation because there were plenty of people waiting for seating! The man directed us downstairs to the actual speakeasy. What a super cool neat spot! It was quite dim, but we of course got the best seat in the house because of our party size. The music was top 40 which was an interesting touch considering the ambience of this place, but I wasn't complaining. Onto the drinks. I got the infamous - Peanut Butter & Jelly 100000/5 - I honestly think this is the drink that put them on the charts! The different flavors coming together within the drink and the little sandwich. The 'peanut butter & jelly' sandwich cookie was made from white chocolate and jam. I was honestly thoroughly impressed. I knew it was going to be good, but I didn't think it was going to be THIS good! Cookies n cream 5/5 - I'd still give this a 5/5 because it was also a great cocktail, but not as great as the peanut butter & jelly. I love that a lot of the bars have a little sweet treat to 'chase' the cocktail with. It definitely helps to add the uniqueness of the cocktails you're sipping on!

Honestly, while it was nice to experience it once and see what everyone talks about, I personally felt it was overrated. I've definitely been to better speakeasies. The atmosphere was extremely loud, the service was average at best, and the drinks were just okay. Some of them looked interesting and creative, but overall they were very alcohol forward and not particularly balanced or memorable to me. Would I go again? Probably not. It was more of a one-and-done experience. That being said, if you're curious because of the reputation and rankings, it may still be worth trying once to experience it for yourself. For me personally, though, it just wasn't anything special compared to other cocktail bars I've visited.
