Switching to a new vet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have a cat who has had urinary crystals and every time he falls ill, the drs are never available or they don't have appointment slots, not even for emergencies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've referred my brother and sister there as well, because we all have 2 cat households and I was never thanked for the business.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was there recently because my girl had stopped eating. It had been 3 days of no eating. I called and they didn't have anything available for over a week. I had to swap out my other kitties appointment so they could see my girl.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told the receptionist the reason and came to the appointment with my friend. Dr C said she was going to prescribe pepcid and antinausea medication without knowing exactly the cause or reason for not eating. My friend asked about medication that would help with appetite and Dr C said she doesn't prescribe unless the cat hasn't eaten for 2-3 days. I said this several times. She finally prescribed it. One dose of that medication and she's eating again. Thank goodness my friend spoke up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My other cat is now not feeling well and I think he has crystals again. I'm not going to even bother trying to get him seen at feline vet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Meanwhile, Bond Vet has way more availability and also does urgent care visits. This vet practice is fabulous. Dr. Clough is so kind and caring. Was there today my third time at this vet unfortunately my little guy has some bug. My cat was at death's doorway nearly one month ago and today he is alive thanks to Dr. Clough and Dr. Lyn. Both approached my very sick cat with much care, compassion, skill and expertise. They went the extra mile to save my boy Willo. It is obvious they genuinely love cats and the work they do. Office staff was always accommodating, attentive and a pleasure to speak with. Horrible Vet and outcome. I had been referred to this place as a specialist for cats. My cat was showing signs of neurological symptoms and there was no sense of urgency with this Vet. Dr Lyn did a basic routine check (didn't need to as I had just been to the ASPCA for this three days prior) and ran basic blood work/ASPCA prescribed Clavamox. The instructions were if the cat didn't improve w/in 1 week to go somewhere else for more elevated testing. Chester started to decline rapidly and I called this place because I needed more advanced testing. . Dr Kyn didn't do that. And he seemed to be in a "fog"). He ran basic testing (again) and dispensed Clindamycin (an antibiotic as well as prescription food) with a feeding tube and released him back home to me with a referral list to see a neurologist. My Chester needed urgent care immediately such as 24 hr emergency critical care. In my opinion he looked like he was on his death bed as he could not walk or sit up. I did contact the places but they could not see me for a few weeks. Why didn't this Vet suggest I go to a 24 hr hospital immediately???? There was no sense of urgency here and my cat ended up suffering, had more seizures and quickly died w/ a day. My Chester possibly could have been saved had this VET had a real plan of action (urgency) or did advanced bloodwork/x-rays so we would have the diagnostics to quickly move forward OR recommend that I go to the emergency center right away w/out making a neurological appointment (those places figure it out). The VET used poor judgment/ lack of interest/compassion with my cat and he seems to lack knowledge about illnesses etc. Perhaps his practice is a place for very basic vaccinations and spay/neutering etc. DO NOT bring a sick pet here as they will not be in good hands. They also operate out of the parking lot (Covid) which caused limited communication. Dr Lyn could have cared less what another Vet's prognosis was or about helping my cat. My vibrant Chester was only 7 and had his whole life ahead of him. Overall horrific. My favorite cat is dead from his negligence. Furthermore. I don't believe all of the 5 star ratings are real. This Vet claims "he loves cats " in his website overview. Liking cats and having medical expertise in cats are different things. What I've observed is a clueless Neanderthal. read more

Where do I even start? :) I first took my cat here due to a bite wound she got from my other kitty while they were playing (which turned to fighting). They were able to not only see us right away (we called and explained the situation and they said to come in right away), but they were able to diagnose and treat the problem quickly. They educated me on how to properly clean her wound and what to look out for, and within a week she healed nicely! I had such a positive experience that when her and my other cat were due for their annual shots, we decided to go back here. Both cats aren't fond of traveling, but once they were inside the place, they felt at ease. The environment is so peaceful and perfect for cats. This was a complete 180 from where we used to go where there were dogs that would scare my cats. The Dr. and his staff truly understand cats and their behaviors. This is our forever spot while we're in Westchester for our cats, I trust them wholeheartedly AND they don't charge for unnecessary tests unlike other vet offices. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Feline Veterinary Medical Center!! It all started about a month ago; my 27lb Maine Coon was spraying on his litter box wall and somehow getting urine on his belly, legs, and paws. At 7 1/2 months pregnant this issue was huge headache and overwhelming to constantly clean up after. Dr. Lyn and Dr. Clough tag-teamed my cats case to come up with multiple solutions to help resolve the problem. Between trying certain medications and finding the perfect litter/litter box, my cat is back to his normal self! These doctors went above and beyond in their constant communication with me, compassion for my animal, and handled my situation with extreme sensitivity. I am sorry that my update that I wrote yesterday did not go through. they are very good vets, and actually refunded the extra charge. The doctor was waiting for the lab results before making any treatment adjustments. it turns out that Garth does have ringworm, and it was not noted at the time of the conjunctivitis because there wasn't a large patch of hair missing. They do the right thing for cats; they told us when our old cat had trouble breathing to take her to the ER off Executive Blvd, which was 100% correct. She had fluid in her lungs, and an xray showed a mass on her chest. we had to have her euthanized at home 2 weeks later when her breathing faltered again.I am sorry for the first review.I hope that this one does go through. Took my new rescue cat today to Feline Veterinary Medical Center in Ardsley for his first visit: the office is attractive, has free parking, and is very close to Rt. 87 and the Saw Mill River Parkway. Having a feline-only vet office means that the staff is well-versed in all aspects of cat health, which is very important to me. Dr. Lyn, Alex, & Ariel are all warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and caring people; they did everything possible to calm & soothe my cat (and myself) during his exam. All of my questions were answered, and I actually learned quite a lot during the visit. Dr. Lyn & staff assured me that they're always happy to address any questions/concerns I might have on the phone as well. Brought my kitten here for low cost neuter..from my first call to picking him up after surgery my experience was excellent! The receptionist was friendly, patient and answered all of my cat mommy helicopter questions and was very helpful and thorough. On the day of the surgery, I arrived on time and was helped by a tech that was also helpful and friendly. The procedure went well and the Dr called me after. I picked up my boy and he was trembling a little.. I got nervous and went back in and the receptionist called the vet in his office and he explained that the trembling is normal from the anesthesia. I work with a cat rescue. A year ago, we discovered Feline Veterinary Medical Center, and we've never looked back. I can't say enough good things about this practice and believe me, as a cat rescuer, I've seen many. Dr. Lyn and Dr. Clough are excellent, caring vets who go above and beyond for their patients. Ariel and Ally, the vet techs, adore cats and take wonderful care of our cats whenever they are hospitalized. And Julia and Sally, the receptionists, are unfailingly kind and helpful, no matter how often I call. It's a small, well-run general practice. Whenever I've brought over a case that turned out to more complicated than a general practice could handle, Drs. Lyn and Clough have immediately referred us to nearby specialists, even calling to get us earlier appointments when the specialist said they could not see the cat for weeks. They are open to getting second opinions, which is a sign of a good vet who values patients more than ego, and always open to discussing other treatment options. Do not understand how this place received such good rating. I picked this Vet (basing off these reviews here) to take my cat when he was not feeling well (yes, he had pervious illness and I knew this time was not good news). Next day my little furry friend had to be put down, because of his health condition. As everyone knows how close we are with our pets, I was heartbroken and devastated. The time has come, we arrive to the place and had to wait for about 30 mins on the curb crying and sobbing waiting for the appointment. The vet did not let my husband in (due to Covid restrictions and the small room, where I was by myself most of the time. The vet and technician were on the other side, why couldn't my husband be next to me same way the vet and the other person were to support me...not sure but it felt heartless to me). The procedure was done, I walked out, my husband handled the paperwork. We were promised a paw print and an urn with the remains. Paid the bills, left to grieve. 2 weeks later get a VM with a very chipper voice receptionist "Your pet is ready to be picked up" like I was picking him up after grooming appointment. My husband picked the remains the following week to be handed a paper bag with an urn through a crack of the door opening. Come home to find out there was no paw print. Called the next day to speak again to a chipper receptionist Elyse, to question where the paw print was and who picked the urn to give to me. Told me she had the print and she did not know that the remains were being picked up, but will ship it to us (she was the one releasing them btw) after this I was told she would not speak to me because of my tone, clearly she has no clue how to be understanding with delivering bad news or changing her voice when people are grieving. The conversation was with the vet himself afterwards, to find out that is the only urn that is provided to them and I asked if he could swap it out. He called and said it could be done and they will let me know when they process it. I get the call a day later to find out there is a balance for the new urn (the urn they provided is the most expensive and I picked the cheaper one) so in the end I would end up with 2 urns... what for... not sure... Sorry for the longest review ever, I am very very frustrated. Heartbroken to lose my best friend and dealing with bs like that. I had the most heartless experience here. People are uncompassionate and not understanding what you are going through. Side note: I am 8 months pregnant and did not feel like calling them about the balance, my husband called them. He spoke to someone in the office. Before she hung up, she called him a D***head. Take that for compassion! **Got the paw prints.... paint on piece of paper... really guys...really... Google how Petsmart and Banfield does it... ***The vet called my husband, apologized and replacing the urn with no cost. read more

They were totally responsive when my kitten fell three stories and concussed , even calling later in the day to check up on her although I had decided she was probably ok and didn't need to be brought in. The best vets I've ever taken my cats to! They are very quick to see your cat when you bring them in, which I really like because my cats don't like being out of the house or at the vet very much. They're thorough, knowledgeable, and seem eager to answer any questions I have. The doctors that have treated my cats, and all the staff, really seem to care about their entire health and happiness, and it makes me feel better to take the clowder to a vet who treats and cares about them the same as I do. Dr. Lyn and Dr. Clough are competent, compassionate veterinarians whom I trust for routine vet visits and more complicated cases. I help a cat rescue by driving cats to and from the vet. So, I have been visiting FVMC weekly for over a year. The vets are knowledgeable, talented and caring. The staff is very helpful and dedicated. Even when they're extremely busy due to an emergency, they are always kind, polite and ready with a smile. You can see they truly love cats. I love this place and have been going for a few months for my foster cat, Mistletoe. She has had recurrent UTIs since the start of this COVID pandemic, and Dr. Lyn and his team have been amazing even despite the craziness. He is super thorough in explaining procedures/pricing and is also available by phone for questions/concerns even after a long day of surgeries. I most recently worked with a Dr. Clough(?); she was also wonderful. You can tell they really care about their animals. One tricky thing is their office phone sometimes cuts out (similar to how it sounds when someone has bad service) mid conversation, which warrants repeated bits of conversation. Excellent experience at Feline Veterinary. We are new to the area and needed to find a new vet fast when our senior cat (21yes old) presented with a UTI. We did some quick intensive research and got some references from friends. But when I came upon this vet and saw that they only handled cats we decided to give them a try. The front desk was extremely accommodating and very friendly, the techs and Dr Lynn were very gentle and caring. Dr Lynn clearly has a love for cats, was knowledgeable and thorough but did not pressure us to do costly tests he did not feel were necessary at the time. The facility is also clean and new. I have now taken four different cats there, and been happy with the service and treatment, not to mention it's more affordable than less comfortable options. The facility is brand new and sparkling clean. When I had a sick kitten on a Saturday, and would not be able to get her in until Monday otherwise, Dr Lyn waited for me 20 minutes after closing. I live in the Bronx. The vet I used to go to is 5 minutes from me. I started going to feline vet earlier this year, because that's where one of my adopted boys had his first car. They are wonderful. I rent a Zipcar to get there, and it's worth the extra money and time for the care they give my kitties. I have 4 boys, and so far there's only one they haven't seen (he's not due for shots for two more years yay), but god forbid he needs to be seen for some reason before, that's where I'll take them. They always come out right away to get the kitty when I call them that we are there, they generally care about them all, and they care about their patients' parents.
