He was a hit with the kind ladies at the front desk!

You know when you find a good thing you want to keep it a secret? That's how I feel about this place. After several horrible experiences at diff vets with my little guy Pootie, [[HIGHLIGHT]]this place made us feel so welcomed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They found the problem quickly, gave him on the spot medication -- and there were no schemy up charges for unnecessary tests or ambiguous treatments. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was no rush or impatience for my questions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dr Lin took time to thoroughly explain my cats condition and reassured me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff was incredible, extremely knowledgeable, and supportive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thank you Dr. Lin, I appreciate you and the staffs customer service and transparent approach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be back!

    Willo Recovered

My cat was at death's doorway nearly one month ago and today he is alive thanks to Dr. Clough and Dr. Lyn. Both approached my very sick cat with much care, compassion, skill and expertise. They went the extra mile to save my boy Willo. It is obvious they genuinely love cats and the work they do. Office staff was always accommodating, attentive and a pleasure to speak with. Vet assistants were kind and caring as well. I sensed that all involved were rallying for Willo's recovery. I am so grateful for this "cat heaven". I believe my cat is on the mend because of much prayer and the EXCELLENT care he received at Feline Veterinary Medical Center.

A truly amazing group of professionals who care deeply for cat, Orson Welles, to the point of calling to check on him after a recent visit while he was sick.

I couldn't be happier with my experience at Feline Veterinary Medical Center!! It all started about a month ago; my 27lb Maine Coon was spraying on his litter box wall and somehow getting urine on his belly, legs, and paws. At 7 1/2 months pregnant this issue was huge headache and overwhelming to constantly clean up after. Dr. Lyn and Dr. Clough tag-teamed my cats case to come up with multiple solutions to help resolve the problem. Between trying certain medications and finding the perfect litter/litter box, my cat is back to his normal self! These doctors went above and beyond in their constant communication with me, compassion for my animal, and handled my situation with extreme sensitivity. I highly recommend this practice and these wonderful doctors for all your feline needs. Thank you so much for all your help!!

I simply hate reading any bad reviews about him and take it as a personal offense. He is a wealth of knowledge, explains everything, and I consider him a friend. His wife has also treated my pets and has been nothing less than kind and wonderful. I also love the vet tech, Jose. Excellent care. Treat them all with kindness regardless of your emotions and you will get quality, intelligent care for your animal.

This was a few years ago,…read morewhen he was just starting out, taking over for Dr. RIngler, who was a total Gem of a person, and an unassuming, yet quite knowledgeable, whip smart Vet. His wife, his longtime assistant, is equally lovely, and quite expert herself. Part of why I continued with Dr. M. is the pleasure of seeing HER in the waiting area. So smart, funny, but able to assume a high seriousness when my Dogs were ill, her low key, warm, presence was so helpful when my high energy dog was ill.. SO PLEASE, I want to make clear that the Ringlers were fantastic. However, when Dr. Ringler became ill, and died, his replacement,Dr. M ( above), initially also lovely, soon seemed frustrated, aloof, and even slightly hostile in response to my questions before and after He examined my Dog. I do not believe I am hypersensitive. My husband is a head and neck surgeon, and I am a clinical psychologist. We both know how to take care of patients, even those who may be more challenging for one reason or another. We do so without. being rude, aloof, nor irritated. This is NOT the appropriate behavior for a helping professional, particular in response to a sick, or more generally, a vulnerable animal

My only regret was not finding them sooner. Terri had developed a hacking cough that I thought was just something caught in his throat. On March 21st, he fell down the steps and tried to go here but they were booked so after taking him to the ER I decided to book a follow up appointment here instead of with his old vet. I've been wanting to move vets after numerous incidents. We went in for our first visit with Dr. Cassidy. Melissa at the front desk greeted us. The place is immaculate & bright - so nice & inviting. They have different rooms for everyone. Met Dr. Cassidy who was like a ray of sunshine. She examined Terri throughly & explained everything to us step by step. The hacking cough was a tracheal collapse which is common in Yorkies. She gave us medication. Unfortunately old age and this condition begun to worsen. We had to lay him to rest 2 weeks later. He wasn't eating & stop taking the medication which made it hard for him to sleep. Dr. Cassidy gave us additional options but we could tell he was ready to go. The care the staff showed us was exceptional! Thank you so much, Dr. Cassidy, Melissa & staff.

Dakota Veterinary Center's Instagram bio states they are "treating pets the way we would like to be…read moretreated," but my experience was the opposite. I brought my healthy six-month-old kitten here for a routine visit after being encouraged by a personal friend of mine who was the clinic manager at the time. During the visit, a cystocentesis was performed by this manager, who is not a licensed veterinarian or veterinary technician, under the supervision of licensed staff. Immediately afterward, my kitten's condition changed--vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, and visible distress. Over the following days, I repeatedly expressed concern and was reassured that this was "normal" and blamed on a recent food change, with no urgency or recommendation to bring him back for evaluation. Four days later, I rushed him to an emergency hospital, where he was diagnosed with uroabdomen and suspected bladder rupture and ultimately euthanized due to organ failure. Veterinary science recognizes bladder rupture as a known, life-threatening risk of improperly performed cystocentesis, and this rapid decline does not align with a simple dietary issue. After his death, I contacted the practice multiple times seeking accountability, resolution, and reimbursement, and was ignored. I am sharing this to warn other pet owners that Dakota Veterinary Center's lack of urgency, accountability, and follow-up after an invasive procedure was irresponsible and unethical, and no animal deserves to be treated this way. Their actions raise serious concerns about patient safety and professional standards; I doubt any of their staff would like to be treated the way they treated my late kitten. I've attached Before/After photos of his health and demeanor before and after the procedure at Dakota Veterinary Center. These pictures document the rapid deterioration of his health, with dates and times included.

We brought our pets to him…read morefor the last ten years, and he compassionately walked us through some very rough times with our dogs. I've always appreciated his realistic (but patient and caring) style. Yes, there was often a wait/delay with appointment times, but it was because he took time and care with each and every person and pet. Dr. Howell is the best veterinarian-- hands down. Wish there were more like him out there.

Be very careful with this place. My friend took her dog there a few months ago because another vet…read moresent her there because the dog had thrown up a rubber glove she had swallowed and was lethargic and not eating or drinking.so my friend took their dog to Yonker Animal Hospital as recommended and It was determined she had pancreatitis and diabetes. She had to stay there for two days for IV fluids, tubes in her nose and tests which totaled $8K. The Vets had are in serious condition and said her only chance was her staying there for days for treatment. When the owners of the dog informed the vet there that they couldn't afford to leave her there any longer, they recommended putting her down. They even told them that the dog was close to 10 years old when the owner knew for a fact she was only 6 years old. My friend had documents from when she was a puppy in 2020. The vets also wanted us to take here to a specialist claiming she might have cancer in her nose because she was breathing heavily. This was all too much, so my friends went there that evening ready ,but devastated, to put her to sleep. When they arrived, the owners noticed that their dog seemed a bit tired, but not on death's door as the vet had indicated. They decided to take her home against the vet's recommendations. They recommended leaving her there for more testing or putting her down. The owner nevertheless decided to take her home and see how she does for a couple of days. However, their dog needed Insulin which is very difficult to obtain quickly. The vet there gave her enough insulin for a couple of days when they checked her out, but the quickest we could get the additional veils needed was about a week. what they gave us would not last until then. They refused to sell us more. We were all terrified the dog would go into diabetic shock as a result. I had to get on the-phone and call every vet I knew to see if they had some of the needed insulin in stock and none did. The dog's owners placed an order with Chewy.com, immediately but it was a weekend so it would be several days before it would arrive and we only had enough insulin for another two days. When I called Yonkers Animal Hospital and told them we were not having success obtaining the insulin quickly from anywhere else, they continued to refuse to sell us enough to hold the dog over. To repeat, this is after spending over $8,000 in two days there! Desperate, they rationed the insulin giving her half the dose. I once again called Yonkers Animal Hospital and spoke to several nurses and couple of vets as shifts changed and, AGAIN, even though they had the needed Insulin in stock, they REFUSED to sell to us to keep the dog alive insisting that they couldn't. It may not be the case, but It sure as hell felt like they were punishing the owners for not leaving the dog there for them to milk us for thousands of dollars more. Finally, as the last of the insulin was about to run out, I got another vet at Yonkers Animal Hospital on the phone, I wish I remembered her name, and after begging her, she agreed to sell us enough for a few more days until the"Chewy" order arrived. To make a long story short, the dog, who was MINUTES away from being put down at the recommendation of this Animal Hospital is thriving. She gets regular insulin injections and is eating, drinking and even PLAYING normally. She looks GREAT! a couple of days after this ordeal, The owner took her to a vet I recommended who ran tests and saw NOTHING life threatening. Just needed the insulin and some antibiotics fora nasal infection. This may not be the norm for this hospital, but I thought it important to tell this story so that pet owners that read this are cautious when taking their pets there. It was an incredibly stressful and almost DEADLY & DEVASTATING experience.
