I had a phenomenal experience here in early April. I came here for the first time for a routine checkup and got some imaging done. This place is a one stop shop for all your gyn needs. I was able to get my blood testing done in the exam room and the imaging was done immediately afterwards next door. The facility is private and clean. I was tired of going to a facility where it's very crowded in the waiting area. Also, I wasn't a fan of my name getting called loudly in the waiting area and having to wait a long time to be seen. At FemGyn, the experience is the total opposite. I was seen shortly after completing some paperwork. The front desk representative was sweet and professional. Extremely bad care and service at the Park Slope location. I called one hour before closing for Rx information as they keep making mistakes in getting this filled. I have called 6x now and a woman with a thick Eastern European accent has no idea what she is saying. When I confirm where it will be sent, she just repeats the words "Yes, sent. We closed" SMH I asked to speak to a supervisor who still filled the script incorrectly and sent it to the wrong pharmacy. Not to mention they don't seem to have any gynecologists working here...all seem to be physician's assistants. Horrible care for women. If you are looking for a local gyno do NOT go here. read more

It took me months to finally sit down and write this review. I came to FemGYN with a problem over the summer - EXTREME, debilitating itchiness. Like, so itchy that I made myself bleed. I used to go to Dr. Guirguis' clinic, but they don't take my new insurance, and so I decided to come here because I found out that he opened this clinic - I first came here in the early Spring of 2019, had what I thought were mostly positive experiences, and so I had decided to come back for this current issue. So I arrive a few months ago in approx. August of 2021 and explain my situation. I received some surprisingly apathetic treatment by the healthcare provider, I believe her name was Liz and I think she was an NP. I decided not to take this personally, as there was a long line of people in the waiting room. She basically told me that she didn't see anything, but would test to see what was up. A few days go by, nothing. I gave it a week, still nothing. So I gave the office a call and was spoken to like an idiot. "Don't you have access to your patient portal?" Basically, she explained they wouldn't call unless something came up in the tests, or something like that. To find out that supposedly nothing was wrong was also very frustrating for me, as I was still very itchy. I decided to go back, because with my hectic work schedule, I was having difficulty looking for a new OBGYN. I had trusted this clinic before, so I wondered if maybe it was just a one-off. I went in, and was seen by the same apathetic NP. She reiterated that my test results were negative. At this point, I had accidentally cut myself while scratching and caused myself to bleed. She asked me if I had allergies, told me to take a Benadryl if I was itchy (????) but I BEGGED her to give me something because I may not be a healthcare professional but from what I understand, Benadryl cannot treat vaginal itch. She spoke to me like a child while going through possible causes half-heartedly. When I explained that I get brazilian waxes, she VERY nastily replied that I should "maybe stop that," essentially told me to "stop everything for the time being" to find out the root cause. I suppose she took pity on me because she prescribed a pill for a yeast infection. Fast forward, this doesn't work, but I decided not to go back because of the way this provider treated me. I feel it's appropriate to mention the other visits I've had here in the past that I considered to be positive. I went to them in early Spring of 2019 regarding an issue with constant bleeding/spotting. They took a blood sample and when the results came in, called me and told me that due to high testosterone levels, they were diagnosing me with PCOS and I should come in to discuss my options. I decided to go on the pill, as per their suggestion, to control irregular bleeding. Interestingly, this was around the first time I remember ever experiencing vaginal itching - when I went to them about it, an NP legitimately told me to put olive oil on my vulva while I shower to *make sure* soap does not make contact with the inside of my vagina and dry it out (????) The itch went away on its own, and I treated the visit as a one-off. So fast forward to today, February 26th, 2022. A little over 2 years of random issues. I went to an OBGYN today for the vaginal itching which had returned, she assessed my symptoms. While answering questions about my medical history, I explained that I have PCOS, and she asked how it was diagnosed - I told her that they came to that conclusion through results of a blood test. This physician explained to me that this is not a certain way to diagnose PCOS, and gave me a sonogram - no signs of PCOS! She did tell me that in fact my uterus is quite small, told me that I should get off the pill if I intend on having children, and also told me that I had a very serious untreated yeast infection. Which is interesting because at FemGYN, they "didn't see any signs of yeast." I feel like I was jerked around for quite a few years. It's my own fault for not seeking a different provider, but the apathy and rushed nature of FemGYN is definitely contributory. I would not recommend them for any diagnostics, or if you have a desperate, unsolved problem. read more

I called femGYN on 7th Avenue to book an appointment with a gynecologist. I specifically asked the person who answered if I could see a gynecologist (MD) and NOT a physician's assistant. She assured me I would see an MD so I booked a same day appointment. When I got there, I asked again, but this time I was told I would see a physician's assistant in gynecology. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed but had a painful problem so I agreed to the appointment. It was a shockingly awful experience. She told me I need to see a gynecologist (which they presented her to be). She asked me if I took a mirror to examine myself before coming in, in an extremely rude manner. She left the room prior to me being able to ask a single question. She gave me the name of one gynecologist (in Manhattan) and the names of two dermatologists. A total horrific experience. read more

I had a bad exam here a few months ago. Despite having gone here for years no one could find any record of my visits. In the room, the doctor brushed me off, breezed through the exam in minutes, literally not bothering to even complete my breast exam. She started to do the exam and when I mentioned they had ordered an ultrasound a few years back, she just said oh great we'll do that again. I left feeling unheard, unseen, and like I had just been assaulted rather than carefully examined. I finally - after months of cancelled appointments and backed up schedules - went to the radiologist today. No one could understand why I was there. Had the doctor found a lump, was she worried about something? I explained that she hadn't really completed an exam just ordered a follow up. They were all shocked and confused. I have no insurance. They were about to charge me over a thousand dollars for an ultrasound and mammogram, but all the nurses there - more helpful than the GYN I saw, encouraged me to start with a mammogram and go from there to avoid the insane cost. I have my fingers crossed for a clear mammogram report, and will never return to this office. read more

Fast service, good bedside manner and clean facility but a I'm disappointed. I came with pain and discomfort in my side. I thought I was going to see a GYN and found out after I arrived that instead I was seeing a nurse practitioner (which is what I was trying to avoid). Why not tell me this when I made the appointment? After the ultrasound, I was told that nothing is wrong and to go to the hospital of the pain persists. An absolute waste of time. I still have to go to a GYN or primary care or hospital to find out what's wrong. This is a common problem that I have found with urgent care facilities. Why bother, they really don't solve anything. No one has the same "gas pain" in the same spot for four weeks. I'm still in pain/discomfort. Nothing was resolved and I still have to see a doctor. read more

I hardly ever right reviews but after my experience today I felt inclined to write one. After reading reviews I felt this was the best place to go and had high expectations. I don't have insurance and paid out of pocket which made me feel like I should have at least got my money's worth...I was wrong. The Dr. was very nice and welcoming but literally gave me no chance to ask questions. Which, after not being to a gyno is years, I had a few. The tech asked questions so I also assumed they would relate my concerns to the Dr. and we would discuss but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I'm also the type to not speak up in the moment because I don't want to cause a "scene" so I just left with unanswered questions. Maybe because I didn't have insurance they didn't care enough to address any concern? Not sure but definitely will not be returning. read more

Do not go here. I went twice. The first time, I saw two kind female Nurse Practitioners who felt I had to be seen by the doctor. I came in that Friday to see Dr. Gurgis. To keep it brief, Dr. Gurgis made me feel very uncomfortable both physically and emotionally. I have had a lot of gynecological exams, and this was the first one where I left feeling very upset and violated. Other than feeling very uncomfortable with my exam, I wanted to note his "professional recommendations". He offered to perform an in-office procedure for my condition, but I declined as it sounded off, and I couldn't stand to be in this office for another minute. I went to a different OBGYN to get a second opinion. She told me the procedure he suggested doing would have been inappropriate and dangerous due to the extent of my condition. Today femobgyn sent me a bill of almost $300. I paid a $50 copay each time I went to the office, despite my usual copay of $25-30 at Urgent Care or OBGYN's. No procedures were performed. Noone at the office indicated this bill would arrive. I am not one to leave bad reviews, but I wanted to share my experience to prevent this from happening to anyone else. read more

Not sure what is going on with the Bayridge clinic however had an appointment was not told the 5th ave location was closed. Second visit to the current clinic in a run down medical building on 4th waiting for 15 minutes past my appointment time while the office team tried to locate a staff member with the key to the office. Young Admin was asking me questions regarding my personal info while in a public space with other patients present. Not good for women who are in pain and need assistance while needing to go to work right after. Need a professional clinic... will find one. read more

Such a great place to have in the neighborhood! The staff is professional and friendly, and the whole office was super Covid cautious! I've been here a couple of times, and my nurse practitioner and Dr. Guirguis were both wonderful! Dr. G knows his stuff (he also delivered my friend's first son!) and Dr. G's son is also a well-known OBGYN in the area. Really great, trustworthy practice. read more

I couldn't recommend FemGYN more! The Guirguis practice delivered my second son so when I heard they opened this urgent care for women, I figured I would check it out for my health concerns. They've been amazing over the years but this past month they really came through with thorough support, follow ups, kind bedside manner, clarity of communication and they made my difficult health situation so much easier. Very disappointing! I found out I was pregnant by using a pregnancy urine test. I wanted to confirm this pregnancy and also check why I've been having a mild pain in my lower abdomen, I wanted to make sure everything was okay. When I got to the office I waited an hour and 10 minutes to be seen, finally I was brought to the room where I saw a medical assistant who took my blood and urine sample for testing. They confirmed my pregnancy and took me into a room where I saw someone else who did my ultrasound. As she did it she mentioned not being able to see the sac. After about 5 minutes she printed my ultrasound and took it to another room where she sat with a nurse practitioner AND CALLED A DOCTOR to review this ultrasound. They later called me into the room and told me that I must rush ti the hospital because I was experiencing an ectopic pregnancy. I asked various questions like how? Why? My face was shocked I was so scared and didn't know what to think. This is my first pregnancy and I have never heard of an ectopic pregnancy. The nurse mentioned not finding the sac in my uterus but finding it outside of the uterus. I left the office after paying $80- in tears ! Rushing to the hospital we sat in the waiting room as he held me and I could not stop crying. After 5 hours of seeing the best NYU DOCTORS and staff, after Re-doing the same tests that FEMGYN did, I was simply just diagnosed with a corpus luteum cyst on my ovary which is normal DURING EARLY PREGNANCY! I now am 2 months pregnant and the pregnancy is going great! Everything is perfect and I am healthy as can be. I was NEVER experiencing an ectopic pregnancy. My baby was simply just super early. It upsets me that That this nurse had to call a doctor to get advice from a doctor, also that she made the decision to diagnose me with an ectopic pregnancy and scare the Sh*t out of me. I also asked her about an antibiotic I was taking and if I could continue using it during pregnancy and she HAD TO GOOGLE IT. Wth? I've never been so disappointed. Please be careful before you go here. And if you want to see a doctor- don't go here. read more

I felt that I NEEDED to write this review because there are a few negative comments below that may scare women from visiting. The negative comments are for Dr. Quinones, which I've been told does NOT work there anymore! I was ALMOST going to cancel my appointment upon reading the comments alone, because I was scared I was going to get Dr. Quinones and his terrible bedside manners. I legit thought he was going to tell me I had a "fishy/rotten" odor or be insensitive to my feelings and man-handle my kitty cat area from previous comments written. Well, I put on my big girl panties and showed up to my appointment regardless who was going to perform my exam, because I didn't want to reschedule and put my women's health on the back burner any longer. I AM SO GLAD I WENT! I had my first visit today with DR. GUIGURIS. I haven't had an annual in a while and wanted to get everything checked out (PAP, Breast Exam, STD testing) since me and my SO are ttc (trying to conceive). I wanted to make sure I had a doctors write off on a clean bill of health. Dr. Guiguris was mentoring a resident who was working towards becoming an OB/GYN. I didn't catch her name, but they were both VERY sweet during my exam. Dr. Guiguris was even joking with me to put me at ease. He made sure the attendee checked everything and then he doubled check just to be thorough. No stones left unturned. Nice! When I told him I was TTC, he spent EXTRA time going through all my questions and concerned. Gave me important feedback and recommended other options down the road if I was still having a hard time. The cherry on top - Dr. Guiguris squeezed me in same day to get a sonogram exam on my uterus. To check if there were any blocked tubes and if I was ovulating. He did this just to give me peace of mind! Bless this man! They have an onsite sonogram room in the back and the sonogram tech (I didn't catch his name) was so sweet and hilarious! It made the ENTIRE process a breeze. I got everything done in a single visit. A perfect one stop shop. Everyone (dr's and staff) mentioned before I was leaving, that I was welcomed back anytime if I had questions or concerns. Even if I wanted to come back and track my ovulation progress. Truly wonderful establishment and great people on hand with even greater bedside manners. Again, the negative reviews are for the doctor (Dr. quinones) who does not work at the establishment anymore. Don't let the mixed review/comments scare you from going to FemGYN. I will definitely be back! read more

Being a person who has a uterus is always unnecessarily stressful. Getting simple things done like getting your birth control prescription refilled is always onerous and takes up too much time. FemGYN makes it easy - lots of appointment options, quick and efficient service, and the ability to respond quickly to requests. After realizing that my birth control wasn't on auto-refill, they very quickly refilled my prescription over the phone and sent it to my pharmacy within a couple of hours. Knowing that I have a response gynecologist's office on call is honestly such a relief! read more

I wouldn't go back here after my first visit. This might have been one of the most impersonal doctor's visit I've ever had. Firstly I was informed 1 day before on an automated reminder message that the doctor I booked wasn't available; so I was given another doctor. The lab technician was quite rude and throughout the experience didn't even acknowledge that I was lying there. After almost a 1.5 hour wait we met the doctor - she literally had nothing to say, I had to push her to answer what she saw in my scans. This place is horrible. I called and asked if they took my insurance and said I wanted to be tested for a bladder infection. They said yes. I went in and the receptionist could not figure out my insurance for about half an hour, (another woman in the waiting room was having the same issue). Then, after my urinalysis, a doctor came in to give me a gynecological exam without asking or explaining why. He referred to my vagina as "down there". A few weeks later, I got a bill for $400 from them in the mail and I'm still dealing with it. Stay away. read more

I use to come here for any emergency gyno need and always spoke highly of the place. Last month, I went in after noticing a change that was cause for concern in my genital area. I explained my history, was examined, and given a steroid cream. The doctor did not run any tests despite me naming I was sexually active with one partner. Mind you, the prescription was never called in I waited two hours at the pharmacy and even called the office before giving up and going home. The doctor did not explain to me what the cream was for or what he thought was going on with me- I had to Google what the cream was used for. I ended up going to all women clinic the next day, she properly ran all tests which confirm my diagnosis, gave me a diagnosis and put me on a 10 day prescription that solved my problem. She also told me the steroid cream prescribed to me by the doctor at femgyn Should've not been used for my issue. Overall I was incredibly disappointed in the lack of urgency or clarity with the doctor here and had I not trusted my intuition and gone for a second opinion, the problem would've only gotten worse. read more

Literally decided to come to this office the night before after finding it on Yelp. I specifically looked for a walk-in clinic since the only other place I would consider had no available appointments any time soon and FemGYN popped up. Walking in I was greeted by the receptionist who was cool as a cucumber. She asked me for my insurance, then gave me forms to sign. I had questions about my insurance and she assured me that I would be set. Then a nice nurse took me to the back to do my vitals and asked me some basic questions. Then told me to wait to be called on, which didn't take long at all. Then I was greeted by Nurse Practitioner, Elisabeth Markus-Sullivan. Who has a great personality and was very informative and willing to answer any and all questions I had. During my check up she told me every thing she was going to do before doing it, so although laying on a table with no pants on, legs open wide is kind of uncomfortable- she catered to that by warning me of every procedure she was doing. Really liked her! I would recommend this clinic for all women needs- they are patient with patients and there is just a relaxed vibe amongst the place. I went here after a male primary care doctor refused to look at the issue I was having (which at the time seemed like a full body issue, not just a genital one). I left his office in tears, feeling dirty and rejected, and headed to FemGYN for a second opinion. Monica was the nurse practitioner that assisted me, and she was incredible - very attentive, comforting, sympathetic to my pain. She walked me through each step she was taking, and assured me that they would get to the bottom of the problem. Sure enough, they did, and now I'm on the road to recovery. I've been coming here for years and there is always a very long wait. I came in today to get a Gardasil shot which usually takes 2 minutes to administer. I was the only patient in the entire office and ended up waiting over 40 minutes while I watched/ listened the entire staff chat about dating. When I got into the office for the shot, one nurse was literally teaching the other how to administer the shot with me on the bench. BILLING NIGHTMARE ! They would not admit their mistake, not to mention fixing it. Patient end up wasting time, being treated with attitude, and their credit got hurt. and trust me I am not the only one who got scammed by them. Went there for a yearly check-up in July 2022, and the doctor asked if I want to do a certain test, I made it very clear that unless my insurance covered 100% of the cost or I didn't want it. The doctor's team went out from the patient's room, checked with the front office, and came back a few minutes later, giving me the confirmation that the would be fully covered. 5 Months later, the lab said is not covered and they weren't getting paid so they sent me to collections. This was clearly misleading by the doctor and the front office since I was assured that they would only test for things which are fully covered by my insurance, now they are saying otherwise. Without a doubt, this is a breach of verbal contract, and their team was not helpful and claimed that nothing can be done on their end even though they made a mistake. I should not be billed by the lab if the doctor gave me the wrong information, and the staff was avoiding problems, used abusive language, and showed nonchalant attitude, which indicated that the whole place is unprofessional. Already take this matter to a Small claims court. read more

Great 1st Time Experience. I seriously have not one complaint! I was a walk-in and from the beginning to the end the service and comfort was great. Yvonne greeted me when I walked in and she was an absolute doll to talk to and so welcoming. There was very minimal wait time of 5 mins. Called and told me they've never heard of my insurance - Cigna - Out of network (EPO) and told me to call my insurance to verify, I did and insurance calls tells me to call the office back to ask for their ID number so they can verify if my insurance will cover my visits, called the office back and front desk talks to me with a tone almost shouting "I've never heard of that insurance!! ....and why can't they tell from our name if they cover us!!" I was willing to come in and pay cash (even though I known my insurance pays better than what plain in network Cigna pays doctors ) she didn't even give me that option! The doctor was incredibly rude and it cost a ridiculous amount of money to get my iud removed. Then she did an unnecessary std test that I just recently found out is going to cost me 800 dollars!! I have gone to FemGyn for many years. Will never go back. The NP or PA was rude, condescending and would not listen. She made faces and put her hands in the air and made fun of me when I tried to discuss a treatment that a Dr. in that office had prescribed that had worked. She argued with me about getting a pap smear as it had been 2 years. Basically told me i was ridiculous for not waiting another year.When I told her about a problem and asked if it could be tested she said no. Went to a diff Dr and indeed was having a problem. I had an appointment for an annual exam and a birth control renewal. I waited over an hour to be seen despite having an appointment. When I went to pick up my birth control at the pharmacy the next day, it was not there. Turns out the doctor that saw me never put notes in my file and a renewal was never made. When I called the offices to correct this mistake, the receptionist continually told me the doctor would call me back. After 3 hours of waiting, still no word from the doctor. Unprofessional, unacceptable. I have now missed two days of my birth control because of this office's mistakes. read more

Perinatal diagnostic centers at femgyn urgent care in park slope Brooklyn is amazing! State of the art ultrasound! Very spa like inside and with top notch care. I was referred to Fem gyn by my primary care doctor. Red carpet treatment and state of the art ultrasound with immediately results. Extremely impressed. Definitely the best place to get an ultrasound where you are pregnant or having pelvic pain. When I went to Fem gyn I was assigned a patient liaison who took care of everything. read more

I have shared this experience with so many coworkers and friends and I finally feel ok to reveal my experience with Dr. Gurgis. I should have immediately recognized his inappropriateness and called him out as I am a healthcare worker myself but i also understand drs can get away with just about anything. I received the testing/ services I needed but regarding my gynecological issue he asked what nationality my boyfriend was and joked that " he thought i was going to say puerto rican" because " puerto rican men-" and didnt finish his sentence. He then proceeded to instruct me to talk with my partner about foreplay before activity. I have since then visited a female gyno and my symptom was real and im being properly treated for it. This is sexist and disgusting and I'm not sure how many patients he's been inappropriate with but they need to speak out. Too bad this was such a convenient concept. read more

So I've been waiting for over 2 month to get my nexplanon. I signed all the paperwork. Call to see if it arrived they told me that I signed the wrong paperwork (that they gave me btw). I had to sign something else and begin the wait all over again. No one reached out to update me on anything. I call to see where it was. They told me that I had to call some pharmacy to authorize the nexplanon so I did. Why am I doing all of this work? Anyway I did. They said femgyn should have it in 4 days it's been 2 weeks. Every time I call to ask if it's there they tell me they have to look or they are calling someone and I never hear back. I don't know wth they are doing in there but this is by far the most unprofessional gyn or business period that I have ever dealt with. Complete slouches and incompetence at an all time high. They don't even have the courtesy to let you know what's happening. This is someone's health that you are dealing with. I did everything that was asked and I'm still waiting. I received a bill in error, and when I called to find out why (I had paid the co-pay at the office and I am in-network for the office), the representative at the billing agency told me that FemGYN had 1) made a mistake BUT 2) were unwilling to fix it. Around 12pm there was a bit of a wait, I didn't have my insurance card handy and I could not access it online so I had to leave. I came back around 6pm, it was fairly empty and I was seen right away.
