We walked in at 6:45pm on 8/30/21 and was able to get both the rapid and PCR COVID test. I researched about my insurance coverage before going to an urgent care for testing (and that onus is really on the insured). We got both test results within 14 hours. The process for COVID testing was streamlined and very efficient with flexible hours, hence, the five stars. This is compared to walking into CityMD on 5th Ave in Park Slope in the same evening at 6:15pm and was told that we have to come back in the morning at 8am - there is a virtual cue that starts after the first 15 people (or something?) and that you wait for the text to come back again to get tested. This is also compared to Neergard pharmacy on 5th Ave and 9th St in Park Slope in the same evening at 6:20pm and was told that they only do COVID tests 9a-4pm. read more

My wife came here with our baby in a stroller. The clerk at the front desk said the doctor won't see her with the baby and to come back without her baby. Very unusual that you can't see a medical professional while you have your child. I've never heard of a policy like this. Please be aware to all the parents in park slope of there policy. read more

After the nasty fall ,we were still able to travel to Brooklyn. Lately both knees were very painful, also to check on the status of the stitches we stopped by at this facility, which is close to the hotel. No wait, feeling up all the paperwork (they do accept Medicare Advantage), then medical assistant took vitals and doctor arrived. X-ray is on premises and it was performed on both knees, doctor came with the results and everything is ok ,no fractures. All employees starting with the front desk, medical assistant to x-ray technician and definitely doctor are outstanding, caring people. Brooklyn people in Park Slope are lucky to have this friendly facility around. read more

The staff was nice and helpful, and I was seen in a timely manner. HOWEVER, I was charged $150 for my appointment, when my copay was, in fact, only $20. It's been over two months now and they still have not reimbursed me. They keep giving me excuses as to where my check is, if it's been issued, mailed, etc. None of the stories align - feels like a scam. read more

I went for urgent care appointment to see a doctor who ordered lab results which would be ready in 2-3 days. It has now been about a week and despite calling and emailing repeatedly to inform them my symptoms are worsening and the urgency of the result, I have to date received no response or apology from the clinic. It is completely unacceptable and irresponsible for a medical facility to be playing with patients health and well-being. The clinic should be audited and their license revoked. read more

I am leaving this review after three visits to MedRite that left me unimpressed and disappointed with the quality of work they perform. My first visit I was told not to worry about what I was experiencing, and after a visit to the ER quickly found that something was truly wrong and doctors at Medrite had shrugged off an illness that could have made me very sick. Next visit, my name got misspelled (after I filled it out correctly on the paperwork I had to sign) and that messed up my prescription and having access to my medical records. I had to call to get test results back, only to find they were inconclusive because of a poor sample. Very disappointed, this place could be so much better. read more

I arrived at 8am, the published opening time and was "greeted" with a less-than-friendly receptionist who proceeded to tell me that I had to wait outside because there were no providers present and that if something happens to me , she couldn't help. Not only were they not prepared at opening, but the young woman was rude and made this patient feel very unwelcome. I did not want to leave my house an hour early in incredible discomfort to have to go to urgent care and pay $100 copay before work but I had no choice. This reception was discouraging. After testing positive for COVID with an at-home test on December 25, 2022, I came to this MedRite to get a prescription for Paxlovid since I'm 64, which places me in a high-risk category. I was told that I could get a PCR test there but it would take up to 72 hours to get the results. Since my symptoms had begun two days earlier (although I hadn't tested positive until Christmas Day), this would have made it impossible to begin Paxlovid (you need to begin within five days of first symptom). I was told that for $ 200, though, I could get a PCR test whose results could be read in three hours. (I found out later that no PCR test is necessary these days to get Paxlovid. My at-home test and symptoms were all I needed for a prescription.). I was about to have this expensive fast PCR test when I met with the provider present, who informed me that she doesn't prescribe Paxlovid because "it doesn't work." As evidence she volunteered that it hadn't helped Fauci or Biden. I responded that both men are in their eighties and hadn't been hospitalized so perhaps it had helped them. Secretly I was shocked that she took this erroneous anecdotal evidence as science. Still, she could not be persuaded to prescribe Paxlovid, and I left, grateful that I hadn't had the exorbitantly expensive PCR test or the very slow PCR test. Home again, I used the Telehealth service for NYU-Langone, whose doctor immediately prescribed Paxlovid on the basis of my symptoms and positive home antigen test. Within 24 hours of my first dose of Paxlovid, my COVID symptoms abated. I am grateful I didn't waste money and precious time on unnecessary tests and remain shocked that MedRite employs a doctor who says that Paxlovid doesn't work. The CDC disagrees. read more

437 5th ave,new york Midtown location...after being turned away from 64th street medrite location and PCP due to having WC injury. I called this 5th ave location of medrite and spoke with someone called LEXI; which was awesome, efficient and very courteous. not knowing she can help me but she actually reassured me to come and the physician, Peter, which was awesome as well; he can help me. i made it in the rain there from 64th street and to be greeted humbly by a kind face, Fatima, front desk. Peter,PA; Lexi,MA; and Fatima front desk. had no idea the rough morning i had but after entering the 5th ave location of MedRite urgent care they changed my whole outlook on going to urgent care, they were the BEST!!! at quickly helping me get in and get out, with a smile and water, no hassle. thank you PETER, FATIMA AND LEXI for being so kind and caring and understanding. we need more of this in the urgent care facilities. some people are sick and mentally confused and just need guidance and kind words and a smile. that really matters the most.(to me). If you're going here for a Covid PCR test, make sure you have PLENTY of time before you need your results. The office staff was very nice, but it has been over 72 hours and I'm supposed to have a medical procedure tomorrow for which I've been prepping. As of now, I have no idea if I can proceed or not. I've been on the phone with them countless times and each time they put me on hold three times, and each time "no results yet." read more

This place goes above and beyond to try to make you feel comfortable. Even in the madness, they are efficient and kind. My first visit was for a rapid test before Thanksgiving. Despite the two hour wait (the line was around the corner) they kept everything organized. It was a chilly morning and they offered hand warmers to everyone in line! The medical professionals I worked with were considerate and quick. During my second visit, there wasn't a line, and my partner and I went inside, quickly filled out the minimal paperwork and we were offered water bottles. Again, these little touches to increase comfort really make the difference. The facility is spotless. I'll be returning to this location continuously and after the pandemic. read more

I called ahead to say that I was bringing my sick child and would get there before closing. I was told that that would be no problem. I arrived about fifteen minutes before closing and the receptionist said that the doctor would not see my child so close to closing, even though no other patient was there. I said that I called ahead and was told that we would be seen. She said that the person who told me that was not on-site so I could not rely on what he said. I asked her to doublecheck with the doctor, and to let the doctor know what I had been told. She checked and the doctor still chose not to see my child. This is not a shoe store or a stationery store -- it is an urgent care facility. I would not recommend that you use them until they take better care of those seeking treatment from them. read more

These people should not even be allowed to have medical licenses. I've been to this urgent care twice. The first time the NP made me extremely uncomfortable making a borderline sexual joke and misdiagnosed me so bad that I almost died from MRSA two days later. The second time more recently I came in due to not being able to see my general practitioner with symptoms that had me nervous and all they did was shove swabs up my nose. I could barley describe my symptoms because they wouldn't stop talking for long enough to let me speak. Lets hope I don't actually die this time. Don't go to this urgen care. read more

Rude, unprofessional, and lazy front desk staff. They were more focused on chitchatting with one another rather than doing their job. The nurses were really nice and thorough. The young doctor was alright, but did not care enough to attend to the wound on my leg and disinfect it. It is painful and inflamed now. read more
