I appreciate the fact that they're really knowledgeable about work comp cases but new info must be submitted each time because of the rotating staff of physicians. It's just a little annoying. The doctor (I believe it's Dr. Grinko) is no magician/charlatan (I've met some of those! They look into your eyes, then at your palms and prescribe medications!). She sent me for the tests I expected and even those I never thought of. This doctor is thorough and tells it like it is. The environment is, for me, homely. If you're looking for a stuffy, black suit, well-sanitized (not in a sense of cleanliness, but ... emotional?) ambiance - this may not be the place for you. Here, although my blood pressure was high, I felt very relaxed. I even shared a few laughs with other patients! I highly, highly recommend Proxi medical for any urgent care.

WHAT?? My concerns were completely dismissed. He had poor bedside manner, ended the visit by saying "bye," in a sarcastic manner and slamming the door. The appt was literally 1 min, he's a scammer. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first experience with him, years ago he was similarly dismissive of another medical concern. I was hoping he wasn't going to be the doctor when I went, otherwise I def wouldn't have wanted to be seen by him. Many people have expressed how insensitive and dismissive he is. My appt wasn't productive and just a loser bullying me. Wish I just went to the CityMD in Bay Ridge where I am treated with respect.

She left the room maybe 10 minutes later (longest part of the visit) she came back and said it was a ganglion cyst. Not to worry about it, that it would go away on its own and to try warm compress to sooth the pain. So we try the warm compress and it did nothing at all. We end up going to an orthopedic surgeon and it turns out it was a tumor. Moral of story, avoid this place! Being rushed and giving a false diagnose without even really trying to touch it or examine it isn't acceptable.

I had an appointment here for 11:30 am on 4/16/2026. I've been to the Park Slope location a year…read moreago but this was my first time at the Bay Ridge location. I was running a little late and called ahead of time to inform them. Fortunately I was still accommodated without any issues. Once I arrived and check in then waited in the beautiful & clean waiting for about 5 minutes. I was able to charge my device while I waited which I loved and appreciated. The exam rooms are clean and I had a good experience with the clinician named Julia. She was super sweet and professional. She asked all of the appropriate questions to get a better sense of my health history. Unfortunately the medical assistants there were unable to successfully draw my labs. They tried about 3 times but a nurse did not attempt to draw them unfortunately despite me agreeing to. I was given an outside script to go to a local Quest Diagnostics. Aside from this blood draw "issue", I had a phenomenal experience here. Not entirely sure I will need to return to this location anytime soon. Although this location is easily accessible via the R train, I prefer commuting to the Park location instead.

They seem to really pack patients in, so the odds of a packed waiting room and/or your provider running behind are high. The people behind the front desk are nice enough. The waiting room is a hodgepodge of people. There were a few people just listening to music, shows on their phones but no headphones, so it made it kinda difficult to hear when your name was called. I wish there was someone to enforce that a little bit. But overall, average American, NYC healthcare experience here. Their use of technology is kinda low, so it doesn't seem to have all the techie bells and whistles of some other places.

The line to enter was essentially down the block but I didn't let this discourage me from getting tested since I really wanted to know what my status was seeing that I was exuding symptoms (12/19). I actually had my lawn chair with me the first time around to prevent from standing on line for a long period of time. Each time the wait time was about two hours before actually getting inside to get tested. Once inside, the process of checking in is pretty seamless. When it's your first time there, you must fill out a one-sided form which is standard. After being an established patient, it's simply a matter of stating your name and date of birth. You stand in line for a little longer before actually getting swabbed. You're asked to wait outside for about 20 minutes to obtain a physical copy of your results. From my experiences here the staff is pretty kind and patient despite the anxious people who are on liine for a long period of time. Be aware of people who try to skip in order to "ask a question"! All in all, be kind and give the staff a break, they're doing the best that they can to assure that everyone's accommodated for. I won't be back here anytime soon since I'm a Healthcare worker and my job provides PCR testing (Saliva) where the results are populated the very next day.

However, it is my last visit that I'd like to highlight. I'm a little over 7 months and am a first time mom. As anyone who is pregnant or ever has been can attest, there's a lot of weirdness that is happening with your body and health. A lot of things are considered common and/or normal. So it's hard to know when one should worry or when something is normal. Prior to my visit, I was throwing up multiple times a day. I couldn't keep any food down at all. I'd be woken up from my sleep just to vomit. If I wasn't full out vomiting, I was gagging and choking on acid and bile. I thought it was bad heartburn and acid reflux. At my OB I complained about what was happening to me. They gave me a list of things to try and take. None of it stopped the multiple times of daily vomiting, heartburn, and then the respiratory issues that came as a result. Nothing I tried worked. I tried to drink water, electrolytes, eat bland. No matter what I did I'd throw everything up multiple times in the day. Needless to say, I was so weak, felt awful, and exhausted. My OB wanted me to rule out COVID. I headed to Kamin to get tested for COVID, and see if there was anything else I could do. When I arrived I was greeted by two young women, Katarina and Nechama. They were both lovely, so helpful, and very comforting. I felt like I was going crazy due to how sick I've been, and they were amazing with normalizing what was happening with me. Katarina tested me for COVID, RSV and the Flu. And updated the PA, Alicia. Alicia came in, listened to what I had experienced, and examined me. She confidently diagnosed me with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness. And explained in depth what HG is. She started me on fluids due to my dehydration, and gave me anti-nausea/vomiting pill. I'm telling you the relief was immediately felt! I literally could feel my strength coming back and the need to vomit decreasing. When my treatment was done, Alicia and Katarina noted my demeanor change. And I confirmed how good I felt. Alicia gave me a prescription for the anti-nausea/vomiting meds and told me to come back anytime I felt dehydrated. I was so excited to go back home as I was sure I'd finally get an uninterrupted night's sleep. I have to point out that there is a maternal health crisis among Black birthing people. So it meant the world to me, as a Black woman to not just be taken seriously in regards to my health, but also being treated with so much care and attention. I am so grateful for the team at Kamin who saw me that night!

I've never been to a level up urgent care facility so since I needed to take the Covid test for…read morework I figured let me try them out. I was first on line.... They open at 8am. A woman came in but the rest of the staff got here around 8:15am - 8:20am. This would have not be such a bad thing if people didn't start coming in already and there was no one to help the clients (at least 8 people was here by the time they opened). I was able to fill out my information in the kiosk. I'm not a fan of it allowing you to set an appointment because if you schedule it for 9:30am and it's 8am it will say I You're too early for the appointment. Although I'm a walk in patient not sure why I must need an appointment. It is now 8:27am and I'm sitting in the room waiting on someone to test me for the rapid Covid test. Okay it's not 8:33am and the test was taken (no vitals) I was told to wait in the room and they would give me the test results right away which is pretty cool . This location is new and very clean, staff seems pretty nice. I got my results and letter by 8:45 so hopefully I can make it to work for 9:30am. I gave them a 5 star because of the quickness once I got processed in but they get a 4.5 for the pre processing and lack of staff when they opened at 8am. I will definitely be back again but it seems to be best to come in early in the AM.
