I have been using Femme Coiffure hair salon since its inception. It is located one block from the beautiful Bal Harbour Mall making it easy to locate and to get to, whether using public or private transportation. It's brightly lit, cheerful and exceptionally clean facility are just some of the reasons why I initially was attracted to Femme Coiffure and why I still continue to use the salon. Whether having a blow out, Keratin straightening , or a hair cut; Flory and her staff make you feel comfortable, safe and that you're in the hands of highly experienced, caring professionals. Since my hair is wavy, I usually get Keratin Straightening's approximately 2-3 times per year ... Color treatments, and blow-outs at least twice per week and still my hair keeps its sheen and silky luster. I feel my hair always looks great ! A majority of the products utilized at Femme Coiffure are imported from Canada, Israel & Europe. Therefore, they do not contain the usual harsh chemicals that other salons use. Despite the fact that I have many processes done to my hair, still my hair looks and feels it's very best. HELL NO!!!!! I went to see Daniel to get a trim RUINED my hair. I had used his brother Raphael 2 times in the past when vacationing. He apparently moved back to Israel. He is an excellent stylist and LOVED my hair when he cut it. HOWEVER not this guy which is Raphaels brother (I thought I was in good hands). Upon arrival, I was quickly being asked to be sold on extensions. My hair was waist length..... a Kyle Richards style and length and extremely health hair, I might add. When I wasn't interested in the extensions (I have thick hair and was thinking WTH I have a lot of hair) Daniel then tried telling me I needed a Braziallin straightener. My hair is naturally straight, glossy and again incredibly healthy. My mother was a hairdresser (note: I know a lot about hair) she still has a license and she buys all my professional grade products. We talked about a trim and just freshening the ends. I told him to point cut my hair which he said he uses a technique that is essentially the same. I told him my hair wasn't the right texture for razor cut I have a lot of medium to fine hair. He said, trust me I know what I'm doing. Well, he went ahead razor cut my hair OFF and it wasn't a cut it was butchered. I had my hair looked at a month after in my home town to get something done with it. My hairdresser showed me where Daniel had cut a chunk out of the back of my hair underneath. He cut the hell out of the right side leaving gaps and disconnection all across the side of my hair. The left side looks like a different hair cut. I was so upset and nearly cried. He told me it was good change. I told him we didn't agree on cutting my hair off. I came here for a trim and even physically showed him how much hair to cut. My hair was again waist length. I walked out with the front of my hair to my collar bone. To add insult to injury, before I could walk out the door, he takes a red light therapy wand to my face and says my wife has those (referring to marionette lines) and starts pressing it on my face swiping it down my lips which I had lipgloss on a smears it on my face. He is REPULSIVE!!!! Let me add a WARNING if he starts upselling you and don't buy into his sales and his demeanor changes, becomes quite when you don't won't his add-on like everyone has mentioned, get the HELL up out of his chair and RUN. I'm mortified by this cut. It literally sickened me. My friends on the trip wanted to go back to demand a refund. He IS a JERK I might add!!! read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I had a less than honest experience here. While I received a decent blow out and was more than happy to pay for that service, I do feel I was the victim of a bait and switch. When a certain price is quoted on the phone and then increased by over 100% mid service, one leaves disheartened; especially when no effort is made to address the customers legitimate concerns. I was quoted a $55 blowout and I was told the price changed to $125 while I had wet hair after my shampoo. After I raised my concerns I was told I could have left the salon with wet hair. They are FRAUDS and will charge your card for a higher amount and keep your card information and charge you again months later! YES, months later as if you won't notice. This salon needs to be shutdown! The lady who works there with an Israeli accent is the pushiest sales woman I've ever met. You will come in there wanting a blowout and she'll offer you every bell and whistle to suck the most money out of you. Clearly her or her brothers business suffered from Covid but that is no excuse to overcharge and charge multiple fraudulent charges on someone's credit card. read more

Really bad nails. Can't shape a nail for their life, can't even listen to the customer's request... cut way too short and very round and ugly, my friends died when they saw them, my boyfriend was pissed, and they're not clean, they share nail files and buffers between clients and don't disinfect tools. Pretty gross if you ask me.. I left before she could ruin the nails on my other foot because it was so bad, I might need fake nails on one foot for a few weeks while they grow in. read more

Complete criminal scumbags. Wife was told 35 minutes for a blowout by one of their employees, scheduled an appointment for 1PM . 2 hours later left the salon in tears because the stylist she made an appointment with wasn't available, so they clearly left her in the hands of somebody who didn't know what they were doing. Also tried to charge her extra for using rollers to try to 'speed things up'. Called and 'Flory' told me to go back and get a refund, when I got there they lied and said they didn't know how to process credit card refunds, and to call back. Called back and 'Flory' just cursed at me "It's not a F%%ING condo, it's $55", which I agree with, and why she should just refund it. The point is they failed to provide the service properly, 4 times the amount of time they quoted, and then lied about the refund and cursed out a customer. And then tried to blame my wife for rescheduling her original appointment time. Other than that it was great. Look elsewhere, out of town people beware. They are now just picking up their phone and hanging up when I try to call back to have a conversation about it. read more

I came too Femme Coiffure too get eyelashes done by Nicole. She uses Lavish Lashes one of the best brands. Her prices are very reasonable compared to other places, and they last me about 3 weeks .... could last longer but I prefer too get them filled in because I like a fuller look. She is very professional and knows what she is doing. Always takes her time and makes sure she does a perfect job. I get tons of compliments on my lashes and they look so natural. The Salon is also very great, clean and the stylists their are very friendly and always remember my name when I walk in the door. The have a nice selection of hair products to purchase and also some good trendy sparkly accessories for sale. Nicole is also the owner of Miami Glow tanning and always gives me flawless spray tans in my own home. read more

I have never written a review before, but I felt compelled to write this one. I walked into the salon and made an appointment in person to have a hair blowout. I was told it would be $55-65. When I got there the next day, I was told during the shampoo that I needed a mask and some product was put on before I could answer. (In retrospect, it was a stalling tactic in addition to extortion). Afterward I had to wait for a stylist to arrive at the salon- as Flory, the owner, changed her story and told me she could not do my hair. The stylist finally arrived, blow dried my hair and when I was checking out I was charged $95 for the blowout(!!!) and $45 for the mask. I objected and argued and I don't know why I agreed to pay that amount with my credit card. As soon as I walked out the door, I regretted it. IT WAS A SCAM AND FRAUD. I should have just paid in cash what I was quoted the day before and left. THEY ARE DISHONEST LIARS AND THIEVES. DO NOT WALK INTO THIS SALON. read more

I am writing this review with the hope that not one single woman will face the fraud and deception which I did earlier this year. My experience has been an absolute nightmare!!!!! I called Femme Coiffure to book an appointment to have my roots colored followed by a simple blow dry. That was it!!! Flory, the woman with whom I was booked with, commented that my hair lacked shine and suggested a brief "gloss" treatment after she applied the color to my roots. I specifically asked how much this would cost and how much time this would take, Flory only responded to my time concern which she said would be an extra 15 minutes, as I needed to be at a meeting shortly after this hair appointment. She NEVER even hinted at the cost of this treatment, let alone the details. Shortly after having my color applied, as I sat in her chair, I smelled this terrible odor and asked what she was applying on my hair. This is the very first time I had even heard the term, "BrazilianBlowout". I asked her why this application smelled so strong and why I was even having this harsh chemical applied. Flory's response was simply that I would be happy with the results. I have short, fine and thinning hair and I am definitely NOT a candidate for this procedure. Since returning home, I have visited 3 of the top hair salons in Toronto, and they have all provided me with written opinions that my hair has been very damaged as a result of this "treatment". I can't even comb or brush my hair without having clumps of hair left on either instrument. My hair has absolutely no shine, and is bone straight which makes it look even thinner than it already is. As I was paying my bill, I just about fell backwards when I saw how expensive the bill was. I asked Flory about this charge and her response was that I was being given a deal of only being charged $350.00 USD as I'm from Canada. Stupidly, I paid the $638.00 USD bill as my client was waiting outside this salon and I had no time to argue with her. In addition, my scalp is very dry and irritated. I called the next day to discuss this bill with her and she never answered my call. This call was followed by numerous other calls which all remained unanswered. I finally sent her an email to which I've not yet received a response, not do I expect to receive one. Let this be a very strong warning to all of you ladies to be on full alert about Flory, who is a con and a fraud and her salon which should be shut down for this type of unethical behavior. read more

I went to this salon durning a vacation in Miami to get a hair cut, mani, and pedi. While getting my hair cut I got convinced to get a Brazilian blowout but was not informed of the $450 price of the treatment, my fault for not asking but you'd think at that price you would be informed. While the treatment was setting in my hair I got my manicure which was by far the absolute WORST manicure I've ever received in my life. She spent maybe a minute on each hand prepping my nails to be painted, so they weren't even filed evenly. Once she began painting she was so sloppy, around every nail there was polish on my skin that Rachel (the manicurist) tried to remove with her own fingers dipped in nail polish remover causing it to smudge all over my skin. She painted my cuticles and didn't paint the sides of each nail. I got shellac and I'm not sure if it was something wrong with her UV machine or her lack of prep and proper painting but once she completed the manicure my nails were so sticky and looked like complete shit. Her solution was to put a top coat of regular nail polish on them so they would shine. The pedicure was just as pathetic and sloppy. She then convinced me to get a facial after telling me how bad my skin was. The facial was decent but the area they set up for facials and waxing was done in the back room shared with their office with a curtain around a table for me to lay on...so GHETTO!! At the end some junior hairstylist straighten my hair with a flat iron and then I got slapped with a $900 bill. Now if I had gotten all of these treatments at a more professional spa and they were done properly I wouldn't have been as surprised at that price. This place is a flat out joke that charges way too much money for the shitty service they provide. I would avoid it at ALL costs!! read more

This was one of the best color/highlights I have ever had. The stylist really knows her stuff, very skilled and created a look I absolutely LOVE!! Someone in my building recommended this salon to me...it's small, the service is very personalized, the staff was very friendly, just be aware, the services are pretty expensive for normal people with day jobs! The great look came with a much more hefty price tag than I would normally pay for these services. Worth it? You bet. read more

This was one of the worst hair salons I have ever been to. I was forced and rushed into doing the Brazilian Blowout. Before I could ask any questions about the treatment, the chemicals were already being put on my hair. The lady/owner who did my hair did my hair did not even blow dry my hair, she went straight to flat ironing it with the chemicals not yet set. I was not satisfied with the results and the procedure to doing the treatment was not done accordingly. The worst part of this experience was when it came to the pricing. The owner's pricing was not confirmed by a sign or brochure with the pricing for this treatment. The owner claimed that the price was $1500, then she lowered it to $950, then to $750, then finally to $650. I looked up the average pricing for the Brazilian Blowout and it is from around $100-$600. When I told her that she didn't tell us the price, she told me that I didn't ask for it, even though she rushed me into it. The owner is a rip off and I strongly recommend that no one go to this salon. read more
