Having placed an order for a refrigerator we called the store when after several weeks we hadn't been notified. They told us they couldn't fill the order! This is one of the few places in Detroit Lakes to by appliances. With as bad as this store has become, we won't be shopping here again.

As for the service department, they used to be great, but now I probably will not contact them again. I left a message Friday (New Year's Day) and was told the service department would be open that Saturday. No phone call Saturday. No phone call Monday morning. I called them to schedule a service call for our washing machine, and Wednesday afternoon was the earliest appointment. (Called another business, and a repair man will be here tomorrow morning.) After being loyal Nodak (now Karl's) patrons for over 10 years, we will probably never shop or ask for repair service here again.

I called the Fargo store and was told that nothing could be done at the local level. Fargo gave me a toll free number which I called and, after 21 minutes on the phone there, I was informed that the additional hold would stay in place but would go away in 3 to 10 days. In other words, my debit card has been charged double for the purchase and the corporate answer was, essentially, 'don't worry, the extra hold will eventually go away'. Meanwhile, if I use my card, the additional hold will undoubtedly affect approval of future purchases on the card.
