After a bit of back and forth and estimates, plus scoping reviews, I ended up going with Pure Turf, and so far, I am happy with that decision. I ended up signing for the next year which includes the initial fertilization and seeding, weed control and maintenance once spring comes back around. The process has been solid and easy. The team is responsive and quick to respond when needed. I communicate with them via text and they are always timely in response, while also ensuring to answer any questions I may have, etc... Since the initial seeding, I have reached back out to have a few patchy areas reseeded. They came out without delay, walked me through what to do next and how to monitor progress before the freeze of winter hits. From start to now, I have seen a great improvement in my lawn. Still have a few areas to focus on, but I am hopeful that next year I will have the lawn I am hoping (and paying) for! Overall, glad I went with Pure Turf and looking forward to next years season!

For the second year in a row, my lawn is brown. I even paid more this year for additional services I did not have before, but the lawn actually looks worse. I pay them for disease control and basically everything they offer, yet the lawn still has the same issues. They keep saying it is due to the soil, but other people have told me it looks like disease. One person on their team even said it looked like disease again, but still offered no real solution. Then the office said it was not disease, but again, they did not come out, do anything meaningful, or offer a real plan to fix it. Another company I called said they were confident the issue was disease. They also said that if disease control had been done, the company should have offered to treat it or at least come out and inspect it. That made me question whether the disease control was actually working, or whether it was handled properly. To be honest, my lawn looked better before I started using them. They are expensive, and since using them, my lawn looks worse than ever. The biggest issue is that when I asked about the problem, they never really came out to inspect it and find the actual cause. It also takes days to get a response on anything, and when they do respond, it is usually just the same repeated explanation with no real solution. No one seems to take ownership, offer help, or try to actually fix the problem. When I called to cancel, they did not offer to come look at the lawn, fix anything, or make it right. The response was basically, "Ahh man, I'm sorry. I know we did our best, but I truly wish you luck." All of my neighbors' lawns look great, and they use other companies. I am moving to one of those companies because I cannot keep paying a premium price for a lawn that looks brown, unhealthy, and worse than it did before I hired them.

We replaced old and tired landscaping in the front with beautiful ( never have to mulch again) with rocks, trimmed back all the old growth and installed a giant boulder bubbler fountain. Ryan and his business partner did all the work themselves, did not subcontract out the work. Then we worked on the back yard and transformed it into a usable space with walkways and stairs. The flagstone work is impeccable, not to mention beautiful. Again, all the work done by hand and by themselves, which I really appreciated. I don't know why it's so difficult to find good contractors. I read reviews, I research, the…read moreinitial bid and contact go well, they show up and do poor work. Or they come in and the first job goes well so I hire them back and the second time around, the difference in quality is night and day. I FINALLY hit the jackpot with LA Scapes. Initial contact was prompt; Ashley showed up when stated and did a thorough diagnosis of our yard and issues we were having. The bid they submitted was clear, and exceptionally reasonable given the amount of work needed. A few weeks later, they came in for the first phase of work and when they left we had a yard that was draining correctly, covered in beautiful sod, properly leveled, seeded areas protected for winter, and neat. And when I say neat, I mean there was no trace anyone had ever been in my yard because they blew every scrap of dirt off any surface they'd been on. Even our neighbors commented on how amazed they were at the clean-up compared to other landscaping contractors that had worked on other homes in the cul de sac. Then this week they came back to install a tree line. Now I've seen other companies installing trees and bushes at neighbors' homes. They rip out the grass, dig a hole, drop it in and cover it up. Not these guys! After they cut the sod, they carefully rolled it up to place in other areas of our yard that needed leveling. Yes, that's right--instead of tearing out the grass, they re-used it. Then they tilled, and hand-picked any clumps of grass out of the dirt. Then they started digging, then worked in some conditioner and organic soil. Tilled it up again. Re-dug the holes. Planted the trees, tilled again. And then laid soil conditioner and mulch--which they pre-sorted in a wheelbarrow to ensure it wasn't full of junk. They also overseeded, and after aerating they went around laying topsoil in low areas to ensure the seed would take. After they were done, they watered, and not only blew off the driveway, but the road, the patio, AND the grass at the edge of the mulch. I appreciate that they are meticulous, and they respect our home as if it is their own. Ashley and Justin work hard; I've never once looked out and caught them looking at their phones or doing the job halfway. I have never felt like Ashley did not listen to my questions or address any concerns; customer satisfaction and high quality work seem to be their priorities. They're one of the only contractors I'll even recommend in this area.
