I signed up my toddler for Wiggletoes (aimed for 2-3 year olds) which met once a week for 8 weeks for this location. They offer the classes seasonly across all 3 of their studios (Fairfax, Mosaic, and Alexandria). Wiggletoes was a very foundational class and the teacher, Ms. Jennifer, made every week so fun! She was so warm and engaging. There was a different theme each week which went along beginner ballet moves, storytime, and acting out the story time. The class was only up to 6 children so it didn't feel crowded and each child had enough time for all of the activities. As the parent, you're also expected to be next to your child and engage in a few of the activities which made it fun for bonding. We didn't opt in, but they also host a seasonal recital as well. We were able to purchase the leotard, tutu, and ballet shoes through the studio, which made everything super easy. Unfortunately, my toddler didn't end up loving ballet but I really enjoyed our experience here and the quality time we had together through our weekly classes. read more

Every morning when we wake up the first question out of my daughter's mouth is: "Is it ballet yet?" She is only three years old but ever since she started taking lessons at Tiny Dancers she has aspirations of becoming a hardcore ballerina. And guess what? Since it is a parent/child class, so have I! Their Wiggletoes class is aimed at 2-3 year olds and teaches the fundamentals of ballet in a really engaging and age-appropriate way. Our teacher Miss Holly is especially adept at dealing with young children, some who have never been in a classroom setting before. She rolls with the punches, makes things fun and the creativity she brings into each lesson is outstanding. Every class is incorporated with a story time + gorgeous, high quality costume. Seeing what they put together has become a highlight of my week. We unfortunately do not have classes right now because #socialdistancing but my daughter has still been applying what she learned at home. My daughter have been coming here for dance classes for 1 year, once time a week and she absolutely love it. Ms Lori have been brilliant and what is great about the school is that Ms Lori have been here for a long time and qualified. She makes it fun and teach technique for the young ones. They have a wide variety of different classes to try out and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Great location as well for the parents as they wait for class to finish. read more

I joined my daughter here for ballet and she loves to go here. Every week on Friday she starts asking is tomorrow is ballet. Her teacher is very good and children love her class. Good place to make your son or daughter. You need to go online to see available seats and you can register online. Only thing they lack to keep track of the user information. Once you register online there is no way you can change it. I miss typed her birthday and went to them and changed in their system. Hope they make website more friendly otherwise it us good place. read more

Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. I brought my youngest there to get her started in dance classes. She was very nervous and had suddenly changed her mind but one of the staff stepped up to assist me. She handled the situation perfectly. They are great with the children. It is apparent that the owners take great care in training the staff. My daughter was so proud wanted to show me what she learned. Only drawback is their website is kinda awkward at first. My daughter initially had an amazing experience and first year at Tiny Dancers, Fairfax Wiggletoes class. Unfortunately our experience this year has not been the same. She started the season out excited and as the class progressed I started hearing complaints in the waiting area about the teacher. And slowly my daughter started not wanting to go. The teacher of this class clearly did not connect with the children and the experience was not as fun or engaging as it had been previously . We saw a few other kids drop out and before I went that route I did try and see if perhaps we could try another class to see if her experience would be different. It was. Thus I called Tiny Dancers to see what could be done . The only other convenient time and location for the class we wanted was full and they stated they had no intention on changing the teacher even tho they recognized other complaints . I initially chose Tiny Dancers because it's one of the best dance studios in the area and I'm disappointed that I had to pull my daughter out because she no longer enjoys the experience and the school wasn't willing to open another spot or change the teacher to accommodate us at a time conveniently for us. It may sound bratty of me to expect accommodation but at a price of 110 per month , and other choices in the area especially when we were not the only family to complain about the teacher is truly disappointing. The owner did call a few weeks later and said they had finally replaced the teacher but we had already gone elsewhere . It's very disappointing because we had a great initial experience and had they replaced the teacher sooner we would have stayed. Due to their unfavorable response to our complaint and failure to find a suitable replacement class to meet our needs I would no longer recommend tiny dancers . There are far other choices in the area and at this price , yeah I expect more . read more

My daughter is 2 and loves wiggletoes! My daughter loves Miss Krissy and looks forward to going to dance class. This class helps her use her imagination which is so fun to watch! They make dance fun while learning all the ballet positions. Towards the end of class, they read a book and then dress up as the characters in the book. So cute! read more

Tiny dancers is nothing short of amazing! All three of my children have enjoyed ballet in the years past, but this year two of my three children are enrolled in Hip Hop. Their instructors (Karly and Josie) are phenomenal not only with choreography, but with each child. The recitals are beyond impressive from the beginning to the end. You can tell how much time and attention and love goes into every aspect of the show. My daughter has been at Tiny Dancers since she was 4 (she is 6 now) - and SHE LOVES IT! As a mom, I do too. Such a great place to learn & train in different dance styles while having FUN. My 2 year old has been in the Wiggletoes class for more than a month now and we are so happy with absolutely everything about the class! Miss Chrissy is AMAZING! She is so good with the little ones, even though teaching dance to 2 year olds is quite similar to herding cats. In less than a month my daughter has gone from rolling around on the floor say "no" to standing at the barre and doing her eleves and pliés!!! She is really enjoying the class and has taken to practicing with her big sister at home everyday. We enrolled my daughter in a ballet class. The instructor was excellent and truly worked with each child as an individual. We are well into our second year at Tiny Dancers. We have been very happy with our experience thus far. The teachers are kind and love the kids. Studio is intimate and clean. my kid enjoys it so much and the teachers are kind. this is the second year she's been enrolled and so far we have not been disappointed.

I would recommend this studio to anyone--it is a place of joy and imagination. Every week the class learns a new dance move and then teacher reads a story to the class and passes out costumes and props that match. The class then practices their new move in costume, and everything dovetails together. For example, one week they learned a dance step that was tiny tip toe steps (sorry, I forget the French for it). The teacher then read the class Goldilocks and passed out a beautiful Goldilocks dirndl and a bowl and spoon to each girl, and they danced on tip toe as though they were Goldilocks sneaking into the bears' cottage and tasting the porridge and dancing around the three chairs the teacher set up. Isn't that the essence of real ballet, telling a story through your dance? The dance steps are immediately relevant. I love that connection, and the girls have so much fun doing it. My daughter has been in class for something like 13 weeks (summer session and school year class), and has repeated costumes only once. The studio must spend a mint supplying all these costumes and props. If you are interested in this unique offering, confirm with the studio that this will be a part of your child's class, because they do phase out the story/costume aspect as the children age through the program. It's pricey, but you get something special that other studios don't offer. read more
