We normally don't eat steaks at home, but when in Argentina, you've got to give it a try. Fervor is a Michelin-recommended restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, and we had no trouble securing a lunch reservation online for the next day. We started with a tortilla de papa y cebolla, a local dish which was definitely generous enough to share among four people. For the mains, I had the tenderloin lomo, and my husband went with the asado especial short rib. I ended up liking his choice better with a bit of fat made it extra flavorful and he happily finished my tenderloin piece, so it all worked out perfectly. We also shared a plate of grilled vegetables for good measure. The bread basket was excellent, especially with the accompanying sauces. While we're not steak connoisseurs, we found the meal absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. The restaurant itself is stunning. Without a doubt, one of the best steak houses I have ever visited. Fervor is a Michelin rated restaurant in the Recoleta district of Buenos Aires. Happily, it was just a block and half walk from our hotel. This was our third night and we were going to take advantage of the Argentina beef. The prior evening had also been at a steakhouse (There is another review for that one.) This place was amazing and we had relatively early reservations for BA. We showed up at 7 and by 8:30 the place was packed and people were going to the upstairs dinign area. This is a beautiful restaurant with an incredible aura about it. Easy to tell who the regulars were as they were called by first name. We tried to chnage up our appitizers from the first night. Here is our meal selection: Appitizers: Plata de Jamon crudi Italiano (platter of cured ham) Salchicha parrillera hecha en casa (Homemade grilled sausage Main: Pichana: Beef top sirloin Potato fries Dessert: Flan: Egg custard This was an amzing meal... This was the second time we had dined at Fervor and it was just as amazing as the last! One of the first things you notice when waking into Fervor is, it's such a BEAUTIFUL restaurant! You feel transported to a timelessly elegant place. The waitstaff wears long aprons and are so attentive and professional. This restaurant has three levels and this time we dined on the second level which gave us great views of the diners below. We like to dine early and got here right after opening, but the place filled up very quickly. The food here is magnificent- you start out with an assortment of breads and oil- it's some of the most delicious bread I've ever had and the oil is infused with peppers and is absolutely delicious. For an appetizer definitely do the proveloneta. It's perfection. This time I had the house made pasta- of course it was excellent. Very simple and fresh. The flavors really come through. For dessert we had a flan with assorted gelatos. Other than the dulce de leche being a bit too sweet (and well, that's pretty much how dulce de leche works) it was an amazing meal! This is seriously one of the best restaurants, anywhere. They take the food and the atmosphere seriously. No cut corners here. A great restaurant located in Recoleta area. This place deservedly got a mention in the Michelin guide. The decor is beautiful, very European like most of Buenos Aires and will transport you to Paris. The service was outstanding as was the food. The portions in Argentina are huge, so you're better off ordering less, rather than waste a lot of food. We ordered a bottle of Malbec. They served a bread basket with a couple of delicious spreads. We ordered the baked Provolone for appetizer and it was good. I had the grilled lamb. The lamb was perfectly grilled and the chimichurri was delicious. My partner had grilled trout. For dessert we had the pancke with dulce de leche and this was outstanding. The total bill was around $120. read more

Food was so great we forgot to take pictures! A must when you're in BA, Fervor exceeded all expectations. The place was large enough for our group of 13 and service was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. We started off with some white and red wines to go with our mushrooms, provoleta, chorizo and morcilla appetizers. Everything was great! Not a bite left on the table. Next we all went to the meats and had varieties of steak. Of course I had the Lomo because, hey it's BA and the Lomo is great here. I went with the Colita de Lomo at the suggestion of the server and it was spectacular. We enjoyed some potatoes and vegetables on the side and were so full we couldn't make it to dessert. We ordered a piece of Chernia grilled fish and Ojo de bife (350 grs) / Ribe eye. They came as plain as can be, not quite seasoned but upon tasting, fish was so fresh and beef of good quality. A small bowl of coarse salt is served and you can help yourself. Fish was served with 3 kinds of paprika and 3 kinds of mayo. Beef was served with chimichurri and salsa criolla. A simple meal and yet bursting with goodness. We like our server. There's a language barrier between us but he suggested we take the 350 grms of steak instead of the 500grms. This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend and so happened to be 1-1/2 blocks from the Palacio Duhau- yay! Ambiance-very clubby, 1920s era, red leather booths. Food - the bread basket with various types of bread and served with a chicken salsa type dip, excellent. The tenderloin steak was superb! I'm not really a steak person but this cut of beef was outstanding and prepared perfectly. I couldn't be happier. The starter salad was good and really large, couldn't finish it. We went here 3 nights in a row it was so good. This is our favorite restaurant in Buenos Aires. Its located on a quiet street in Recoleta. The service is excellent. The waitstaff are very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The food is delicious. We have tried the ribs, picana, bife, potatoes, garlic fries, beef empanadas, fried provolone (like fried mozzarella but with provolone and italian spices), the chocolate mousse, and the lava cake. All have been delicious and cooked perfectly. Try all the steaks and definitely order the fried provolone and the lava cake. read more

Great service, food, and wine selection. We didn't have a reservation for 2. Walked in a few hours before peak and they sat us at a nice table up on the 3rd floor. Ricardo took great care of us and was extremely attentive. Even when he was super busy tending other tables, he still made sure we were well taken care of. We ordered the tender loin and the NY strip; both were amazing and at medium rare temp. The Malbec from Luca was perfect with the steaks, fries, grilled veggies and grilled cheese we ordered. The chocolate mousse and their flan were really good too. If you have room, make sure to try them. Good for large parties, also. Hi I've been going to Fervor since it's openning in 2008. I always went there for their fish. I went there las week. The show ten varieties of fish, but they only carry three varieties, now to the most important matter of this review. Years ago, many restuarants would add items or just like it happened to me I ordered a chicken brochette and I was over charged by $ 25,000. pesos they listed the "brochette especial". I called the manager Ana, a venezuelan which had no idea of the "modus operandi" of many restaurants. I will not be back, plus the quality it's not the same. I suggested to Ana to list the three options of fish not the over ten they list on their menu. So BEWARE REVIEW YOUR BILL or any other restaurant you go in Buenos Aires. Cheers !!! read more

Fervor was an unexpected treat. Everything was outstanding. The restaurant itself was beautiful, the service was attentive, my husband raved about his cocktail before dinner and the food was excellent! We shared everything and enjoyed every bite, including grilled provolone and chorizo to start, lomo, strip, matambre and grilled potatoes for entrees and panqueque de dulce de leche and flan for dessert. I only wish we had time to go back this week while in town for vacation. In addition, we dined at Don Julio during the same week, and we all agreed that Fervor was much better all around, especially the meats. read more

After adding generous among of salt and peppy, it just popped. Rib eye is tender and cooked to perfection. Side dish: potato chunks is kind of unappealing. Tin cans of hot chili is an eyesore - can't they present them in a more appealing way? I don't care for any of the three fish sauce. Sole itself, with salt and pepper is delicious enough. Nestled under a canopy of grand trees in Recoleta with its grand sidewalks and the smell of jasmine wafting through the air in spring, Fervor was an excellent choice for a visit. Fervor was as recommended to me by someone at an asado when I mentioned I wanted to try a solid Milanesa and it certainly delivered in terms of quality and taste. Fervor will certainly surprise diners with prices relatively higher than other other establishments but quality is something the establishment doesn't seem to skimp on and that is evident in everything presented to patrons from the bread to the drinks and entrees. I was here for the Milanesa and ordered it Napolitana with a slice of ham, tomato and mozzarella cheese (because you know, a breaded and fried steak simply isn't enough). The fact that I was full three bites into my Milanesa but did not stop eating until every last bite was gone should speak to what I thought of Fervor's Milanesa: excellent from first delicious bite to last delicious (but grueling) bite. Excellent service and high quality ingredients are the main thing that sets Fervor apart from other establishments and the higher price tag is certainly justified if you want an especially nice meal! read more

The warm mixture of bread was lovely. I normally have a filet mignon but it was not on the menu so he suggested the ribeye for me as it is very tender. Again, no push for something more expensive. PERFECTION! Mine was juicy and perfectly cooked. My husbands was a little rarer then he ordered but delish! The sides were also very good. We had rice and French fries. He said they age their beef. We had really good beef and a nice time. Went back today. The good thing is that I got in without a reservation on a Sunday. The salchicha parrillera was nice but huge and I asked for a half order. The small ojo de bife was dry, even medium rare. Chips were nice. Grilled veggies same. Nothing spectacular. Typical Argentinian steak house. Interesting decor. We sat in upper level overlooking lower level. The chandeliers consisted of cutlery. The upper half was very dusty and looked as if it wasn't cleaned in years. The lower half was clean and shiny. Overall the food was good, not great. Our steak was overcooked for medium rare and they did not have a good selection of vegetables. This was unexpected as it is summer in Argentina and we hoped for some fresh greens. Wine selection by the glass was mediocre. We expected a more extensive selection. Service was so-so; our waiter seemed rushed and did not engage in any conversation. Overall, it was fair. This restaurant gets a 2 star rating for two bits of dishonesty. First, the charge was billed to my Chase Sapphire credit card as "bills and utilities" instead of a restaurant. This affects the Chase rewards and I expect it affects the charge to the restaurant of using this card. Second I was billed in US dollars instead of Argentinian pesos which added made the charge for 3 about $163 instead of $159. I was never asked how I wanted it billed and that being the case it should have been billed in local currency per Argentinian law. read more

Amazing steakhouse that also serves very fresh seafood! My father has lived in Buenos Aires for over 40 years and he loves this place. With the beef cuts, the servers will show you the cooked steak on a silver board and then cut it to your liking. Everything is juicy and tender. I recommend getting the calamari, which is another Argentinian specialty. The calamari here is very fresh and tender. The desserts are fantastic as well. I went with the flan and tiramisu. The reviews for Fervor were great and it was only a few blocks from my hotel, the Park Hyatt in Recoleta district, so the choice was easy. One review claimed it was a tourist trap but there were a lot of locals on my visit there. And anyway, who cares! The restaurant is charming, has a lovely waitstaff and because it is on three levels, has a certain intimacy. The empanada starter was terrific as was my Manhattan. What an incredible find. Fervor was recommended to us by a guest who was staying at the same hotel as us and had previously made several visits there. The decor and ambiance was so inviting and totally European. The food was very good and I couldn't have been happier. We order the sea bass because it was time to eat some seafood rather than steak once again. It came out perfect and glad we shared it as the portion was more than enough for both my wife and myself. We came at lunch and I am sorry that we missed coming for dinner because the rooftop terrace had a great looking bar and dining area. Fantastic meal. We sat upstairs with a fantastic ambience and great waiters that spoke English. The portions are huge so we split our rib eye that was perfect. Wife and I stopped here on our way to Antarctica (our quest to adopt a penguin) and had a very nice experience. We piggy-backed onto other Yelp reviews by ordering the fried provolone. That, by itself, was worth the flight from the U.S. We highly recommend it. I should have started the review with a recommendation that you fast for two weeks before getting here.
